Dino was amazing, entertaining and informative. He took a lot of trouble to show us so many points of interest and plants and fruits typical of the island. The drive was very exciting - not for the faint-hearted, but Dino knows every inch of the route like the back of his hand! We were shrouded in the clouds at the highest peak, but despite this, there were other breathtaking views and the whole day trip was really worth it.

This was one of the best excursions I've done anywhere ever! We were lucky with the weather as it was clear with good visibility across the mountains and sunny all day, bit it was such a superb experience it would have been great without it! First of all the vehicle (Land Rover Defender) was in good shape and performed brilliantly. It was open top and enabled all round views and an exciting off-road experience! More importantly, the guide EDDIE was an absolute rockstar and an excellent host. Deeply knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, locations and history, he was also a total badaxe behind the wheel and provided enough entertainment to keep us thoroughly engaged for the duration of the trip. Eight hours door to door including levada walk (easy and unaccompanied), breaks and lunch, the time just flew by and I feel like we really got to know the island. By far the best thing we've done on holiday on Madeira, I unreservedly recommend this trip.

Every time I visit Madeira, I go on a different tour with this company, and they never disappoint. Deano our driver was great. Superb driving skills, very knowledgeable, and he looked after us well. The off road section was fab. Highly recommended.

This was a fun interactive, hands on experience. our driver Miguel made it even more interesting with his personal insight and experience. Our half day trip ended on a hilltop overlooking the ocean. Off in the distance we could see Porto Santo Island as we made the local favorite drink "Poncha"

I highly recommend Madeira Expeditions. Victor was very professional guide and made us feel safe every part of the journey up to the top and back down the mountains. He explained ingredients in Poncho and the process making it. We also able to sample some rum and wine. He gave us ample amount of time to explore on our stops. Beautiful scenery and a good time had by all! 😎

Amazing! The tour was a perfect mix of exploration and discovery of the Island. We really enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the tasting of some of the iconic drinks of Madeira, like rum and poncha. Our guide, Vitor, made everything even more special. He's a great driver, he grew up in Madeira (so he knows everything about the island) and most important he's a great entertainer and a wonderful human being.

The Santana Combo jeep safari was amazing!!! We went to the east side of the island and we had 8 stops which we had plenty of time to go around and take pictures. Our driver and guide, Antonio, was really informative, funny and very kind! He drove us few times off the main road, through the forest and through the local tiny roads. Which was one of the highlights of the trip as the roads were very bumpy. The Pico Arieiro, the traditional houses in Santana village and the Ponta de Sao Lourenco were my favourites. However in every stop, the views were spectacular and breathtaking. Thank you so much !

I rarely write reviews, but felt I would be doing this experience (and our incredible guide Victor) a disservice to not share how wonderful and special this experience was. I could not recommend it more highly. We had booked the sunrise tour for our honeymoon, and full disclosure - we did not actually see much of the sunrise due to the cloudy drizzle from the lingering effects of hurricane kirk affecting the mainland. BUT I can happily report that it didn't even matter! We left the tour beaming, and certainly created some truly special lifelong memories. Victor took us on an incredible tour hopping around other spots on the island, and he is absolutely delightful company! He is so upbeat and friendly, quick to crack a joke, and deeply knowledgeable about the history of the island and the flora and fauna. When he learned we enjoy gardening at home, he shared his wealth of knowledge about the local botany, including pointing out all of the local fruits and flowers. One of the many highlights was standing in the back of the land rover with the top down, picking guavas and passionfruit bananas to eat right off the tree! Incredibly happy with this experience, and delightfully surprised at how much more Victor was able to show us beyond just the advertised sunrise! Definitely ask for Victor if you have a chance, he made the whole morning feel like we were driving around the island with an old friend We would do this again in a heartbeat

Antonio was an amazing guide. He knows a lot about the island, the history, vegetation etc. and didn't leave a single question unanswered!

An amazing day with Dino. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun. I was nervous when he told me I was the only English speaker on the tour but he made it so fun and exciting that it was no worries. Highly recommend this company

Having now been to Madeira a few times over the years I would rate this tour the best yet, if you only have the chance to go on one I would choose this one to theEast side of Funchal. If you get Victor as your guide you are extremely lucky. He appeared to speak not only his native language English German & French perfectly. If I had Victor we would go again.

Extremely good tour, Victor is an excellent guide. Interesting to see the difference in the north/south of the island. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Very enjoyable and informative trip! José was our driver and he had a great deal of knowledge on the culture, history and economy of the Island. The route was fascinating, passing through high mountain villages, up impossibly steep slopes and, at times, on off-road tracks. With three breaks at watering holes there was no hardship in the journey. Thoroughly recommend!!
