I haven't dived for 5 years so I did the SSI refresher course with Esme. She was a great instructor, very friendly, clear, knowledgeable and I felt safe and confident the whole time. I did the wreck dive with Theo the day after and, again, he was very professional and you felt safe and confident diving with him. The dives were beautiful and I hope to return. Absolutely recommend Azul dive centre.

The knowledge and expertise of the instructors are truly unmatched. They are not only skilled divers but also experts on the island, and their passion for both shines through in every dive. I always felt completely safe and in good hands, but I also had a lot of fun along the way. I can’t wait to return to Madeira and spend another week diving with this amazing crew. I can strongly recommend Azul Diving Center. Located centrally, friendly staff. Best dive was the wreck dive, approx. 25 mins by boat. Very good visibility, lots of trumpet fishes, funny box fishes (puffer fishes?) and a very odd couple: grouper & trumpet fish, who patrol the wreck side to side. My dives were with two brazilian instructors, who are friendly and provide good explanations of the dive plan. Go for it!

Great dive centre. Returned after diving with Azul two years ago. Excellent service even in the absence of Cecile and Marco (congratulations on the baby!). Well looked after by Scotch, Sam, Roberto, and Theo. Kit is well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful. Can’t bank on the weather for diving given the location of Madeira. One of the best dive centres I’ve ever been to.

We did the shore dive first, some days later the wreck dive, night dive and the double dive in the marina resort. Every time the dives were very good. We saw many fishes, lobster etc. The highlight was the monk seal and the octopusses playing with golf balls. The whole team was really great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of fun and felt very safe well looked after.

As a relatively new advanced open water scuba diver, the guys at Azul were very supportive, specially as was a single diver, with a fantastic dive to the Wreck Corveta. They have some great kit and hired a full wetsuit, bcd, air and weights. I had my own mask, snorkel, fins and dive computer. We were in a nice small party of 6 and only a short boat trip to the dive site, past the cruise ships docked at Madeira. It was my first time to fully enter and traverse through a wreck and was a little apprehensive with it being the first time. But the guys explained each step of the dive, through the three deck levels. Possibly with it being my first full wreck exploration, I should have relaxed more and didn’t quite get my neutral balance quite correct for all the openings etc. Still learning scuba skills. Probably with this, I didnt quite make the 3rd deck bridge with my breathing, but with more experience, there’s always next time. The Azul guys were fantastic and made the dive feel like completing with friends as a team, which was nice as I was diving solo. Thanks for an amazing experience!

We did two dives with Azul Diving Center (House Reef and Wreck). Staff, equipment etc. all was great. We can definitely recommend this place.

This Diving Center is great: responsible employees, good learning curve, positive atmosphere. Esmeralda Bolton is an awesome teacher. Totally recommend!

Great few days. The wreck dive corvette alfonso was fantastic. Dived on a reef as well. Managed some deep dives although I think there are options for shallower dives if you want. Guides were really attentive and safe

My sister and I did a shore dive with Esmeralda and Roberto on 9th October and could not have had a better time. This was our first dive post qualification and both instructors were brilliant, made us feel so at ease and helped ensure we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend, and thank you!! Gill & Jenni

Arrived at the diving centre and met with our diving instructor Guadalupe. She was very friendly and made sure that my partner and I were comfortable with how the diving gear worked and what hand signals we would be using as well as what to expect. After squeezing into our wetsuits we then had a practice in the swimming pool to familiarise ourselves with how to float and swim about as well as learning how to clear our masks of they filled with water (very important). Once we were both happy we then went straight over to the sea (just a quick walk from the pool to some steps) to do an ocean dive. We both weren't expecting to see anything straight away but immediately we were able to make out small schools of fish as well as crabs, starfish and even a octopus. Time flew by and the dive was sadly over, but we did get some amazing photos and videos taken by Guadalupe. Overall would highly recommend this experience and this diving centre to anyone visiting Madeira.

Took the 2.5h beginners course. Very good instructor and really cool experience 🤙🤙 Befriended some octopuses and trumpet fishes. Solid recommendation
