The short review is that this was very much worth the time and money. There's plenty of walking, plenty of sights seen, and plenty of good food to sample.

We met our guide, Loukia, in the morning near the Panepistimio metro station (the Starbucks that's right there, to me more specific), at around 9:20am. We had booked the private tour, so it was just my wife and me, and Loukia. After a bit of getting to know each other, we were on our way.

We started with a traditional Greek breakfast of koulouri from a street vendor. From there we sampled some lukumades. We went through the Central Meat and Fish Market, as well as the Fruit Market. Somewhere in there, we stopped for a cup of Greek coffee.

From there we moved on to Polykala distillery to sample some delicious liquors, and even bought a couple of small bottles for later. After that, we stopped by a charcuterie store to sample some pastourma, went nearby to have some pies (spanakopita and some bougasta, a sweet custard pie), and finished this section of the tour at a shop dedicated to the products of the island of Lesvos.

Finally, we ended up at a grill-house in the Psyri neighborhood to have gyros.

Loukia was nice enough to walk with us to Monastiraki square, were she left us to our own explorations.

From start to finish, a great way to experience Greek food while in Athens.

My husband, daughter and I went on the food tour with Klea. She was absolutely phenomenal in every regard. She had the most upbeat personality that made you excited to learn as much of Athens as you could. We stopped at 10+ places to sample and learn some Greek culture. We travel a lot and do these often and I'd have to say this is one of the best we have been on. Klea took us to some very cool spots and made the tour very personal and incorporated some things that we were interested in seeing in the tour while we were in those neiborhoods. A++ take it if you have the chance you will not regret it.

It was so pleasurable reading your review, dear guest, and rewarding too! Klea is indeed phenomenal, and we couldn't be happier that she is a part of our team! Our food tour has been carefully designed to encapsulate Greek gastronomical culture in mouthfuls and sips, and when our guests love it, we feel truly proud (especially when you say that you travel a lot and this food tour is one of your best so far)! Please join us again next time you are in Athens for more cool strolls and interesting tastes! Until then keep traveling, and above all, stay safe!

I joined the Athens Small-Group Food Tour this morning, and it was absolutely fantastic. We were a group of a 7, and our guide Georgia was brilliant. She was so good at individually looking after us, for example at our final stop she sat with each of us to give us recommendations for our time in Athens. She’s a real asset to this tour company!

The places we visited were so unique, with my favourite definitely being the lamb patty shop we visited in the fish market. It was so unexpected given the location, and absolutely delicious.

I’d highly recommend taking this food tour in Athens. It was my first food tour, and it’s just such a good way to see a city as food is such a huge part of a place’s culture. Thanks for a brilliant morning Georgia!

Is tour was wonderful! Not only was our tour guide, Georgia, outstanding in her knowledge of the city and its food, she was fun and very patient with the 7 of us. You could tell she loved her city. We not only experienced a wide variety of food and beverages, but were able to talk with the vendors and shop keepers to learn about their trade. This is one of the best ways to really see a city and learn its culture.

We had a super interesting street art & food tour with Georgia. In a good mood and fully engaged, she gave us great insights into the artists' quarter - accompanied by Greek delicacies.
An absolute recommendation off the beaten tourist path.

My wife and I did a food walking tour with Georgia. She was fantastic!! She took us to many great little stops and wandering throughout the neighborhoods was fun. We have plenty of places to wander back to in our remaining time on our trip to enjoy again. She was extremely personable and seemed to genuinely care about making sure we enjoyed the tour. Would highly recommend this to anyone on a trip to Athens.

My husband and I joined a small group and had Georgia as our guide. She is a vivacious young lady who is very knowledgeable and gave us interesting facts about Greek life and food. The wet markets were unbelievable! She took us to shops we would not have gone to as well as the back streets with beautiful graffiti on buildings. We have recommended this tour to all our friends and you MUST go hungry. There is so much to taste on this tour culminating in a giros lunch. Thank you, Georgia. We will do this tour again, I think 😊.
