Interesting perspective on the ancient city
Jun 2021
Despite a hot and humid day, Kostas did a wonderful job of bringing Athens to life with a mix of facts and stories from mythology - and he was great at finding shady spots to sit along the way!

We spent most of our time at the Acropolis and got far more information than if we had done a self-guided tour. Some of the walking at the Acropolis is quite slippery due to people walking on the stone path for thousands of years. They recently paved an area at the top that makes walking much easier than it was if you have visited previously. Kostas told various stories throughout the tour and ended with the familiar tale about Theseus and the Minotaur. After telling the story, he took another look and tweaked out the grains of truth. Sort of like reading a story in a tabloid. Who knows, maybe the stories are true with just a bit of embellishment!

We also visited the temples of Zeus, Hephaestus, and the Agora, with time to explore a bit on our own and take pictures. Also, there were a couple of spots available to refill a water bottle, definitely at the Temple of Zeus and the Acropolis, and the water was good. The tour was easy to find and ended near lots of restaurants - a great place to get an ice cream and marvel at this wonderful, ancient city!

Athens Weekend Getaway
First off, I'd like to thank George for making it possible to re-schedule our tour; after we had to re-schedule our flight to a day later. Excellent customer service! Our tour guide; Alex, was one of the most knowledgeable tour guides that we've ever had; and we've had MANY tours. We learned several new things and throughly enjoyed his stories of the city, country, and history of Greece. He paced all of this extremely well along the tour, while managing to ensure that the walk was not too exhausting and giving us time to rest and take pictures. Excellent job! Highly recommend!

Definitely do this tour!
What a great experience! It was so nice to listen to the stories, especially at the acropolis! They have you purchase a ticket that you can use not just at the places on the tour, but a few other places as well which is good for five days. The tour guide was a great story teller and very informative. She also gave enough time for pictures when it was required!

Temples and Myths! Amazing!
Konstantinos was a fantastic tour guide! He did a combination of mythology and history whichever tied together so well for the locations! Very informative. Made sure to stop often and tried to find spots in the shade because it was really hot! Comfortable shoes and sunscreen are a must because it is a long tour but by the end of it I feel like we saw the most important sites and got a good amount of information and storytelling about them. The only thing I wish was different was that it started at the Acropolis because by the time we get there, a good amount of people were coming in and it was getting really hot but considering how crowded it was before covid times, I count us very lucky we saw it when we did. I've had a few friends as me about this tour and I keep recommending it!

Alex made this tour THE BEST!
this tour is amazing!! Alex, our wonderful guide, made us feel that the 4 hours was too short!! His enthusiasm and expansive knowledge on the history of Greece and of the myths was fascinating. He was so patient with us; answering and explaining carefully all the answers to the question we asked him.

Alex even gives us the best tips on where and how to take photos of the ruins. It was a great tour, me and my husband learned a lot, and this tour is one of the best experiences we have had in Athens.

Alex, thank you for your enthusiasm and your patience with us!

Truly worth recommending!
