- VanTP110 contributionsUnforgettable Private tour EXCELLENTWe had an unforgettable private tour of Classical Athens and Cape Sounion last December as a family of 4 from the USA. Our driver Mihalis was exceptional—extremely knowledgeable, professional, and engaging. He shared fascinating insights about Athens’ rich history, making every stop even more meaningful. Highlights included the Acropolis, the serene Athens Riviera, and the breathtaking Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio where the sunset views were just magical. The tour was perfectly paced, allowing us to truly enjoy each moment. We highly recommend this experience with this company to anyone visiting Athens—it’s an absolute must!Written 12 January 2025
- 252neerajak0 contributionsAwesome day at Delphi!Amazing experience. Efficient and flawless service. Tas ( driver) was very polite, experienced, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.Written 11 January 2025
- gautamk8030 contributionsDelphi and Arachhova with Tas and AGT.The entire process was seamless and excellent. We were picked up at the correct time, very friendly and knowledgeable driver(Tas) guided and informed us about every location we visited. Tas was polite and very responsive. The car was clean and comfortable. We usually do group tours and this was our first private tour. It was absolutely worth the money.Written 10 January 2025
- 290yanl0 contributionsBest history lesson you will haveTas is the most knowledgeable driver/guide I met on this trip. He gave me so much historical context behind everything that we saw I couldn’t believe my ears. He also plans out each day really well and I felt very relaxed throughout the entire trip. I highly recommend Tas and this tour company.Written 8 January 2025
- E9067EIestherj0 contributionsAsk for Peter!A wonderful day trip with Peter to Delphi. He was informative and gave his own story of migrating to Greece as well as the history and stories of where we were going. He made a mother/daughter traveling on own feel comfortable. He even answered my questions while at restaurant via text. I wasn’t sure if not eating everything served was disrespectful. He assured it was not. He even made extra stops to take beautiful photos. The scenery in Greece is unreal, no matter where you are. He sent us photos that he took as well to round out our album. Ask for Peter!!Written 4 January 2025
- gregoryw20250 contributionsA Truly Great TourOur driver, Tas, communicated with us and promptly picked us up at our hotel in Athens. The car was extremely clean, and the driver was very friendly, professional, and prompt. Waters and a snack were provided. Tas had a wonderful personality and was full of passion for the job. As we drove into the rural mountains of Greece, on our way to Thermopylae and Delphi, we stopped at numerous photo opportunity locations. Throughout the trip, our driver provided us with his historical antidotes to make the journey educational, interesting and exciting. We were dropped off at the historical museum in Delphi having already pre-purchased our tickets through Ancient Greece Tours. We spent about an hour in the museum and then another hour and a half wandering the ruins of Delphi. It is truly beautiful and should not be missed. We’re comfortable clothing. You are climbing the side of a mountain on stairs and ramps. After we were done at the ruins, we were taken to a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Corinth for dinner. We were then taken back through the mountains to Athens with a few more photo opportunities along the way. If you’re looking for a day trip into the mountains to see Thermopylae and Delphi from Athens I highly recommend this tour.Written 3 January 2025
- N5374GIsf0 contributionsWonderful private tour with TasMy husband and I took this day tour of ancient Corinth with Tas, who was a wonderful tour guide! He drove us in a comfortable, air conditioned SUV and offered us cold water. He accommodated our schedule and was very considerate, taking lots of photos of us at many landmarks. He included a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant. It was a wonderful private tour and we highly recommend booking any tour with Tas! I am recommending his tours to family and friends.Written 23 December 2024
- DisneyAJ0 contributionsFantastic Delphi Private TourWell, we booked the private Delphi tour and were wonderfully looked after by Yannis, who if you read the website lives up to his bio, and more. A lovely man, a true professional, great driver, and very knowledgable and passionate about everything - literally everything! We travelled in the luxury minivan, really comfy, great views of the landscape en route, the drive is obviously long but well worth it. Delphi is a truly magical place. The scenery, the peace, the history, and to get there - the drive, its well worth the effort, even on a grey day. Made more special by the knowledge Yannis shared with us - we will always remember your stop at the viewing point looking down on the olive groves that seemed to go on forever! Yannis you made this trip all the more special. Thank you. The lunch stop, rabbit stifado delicious, the brief moving stop at the monument to the many too many villagers remembered from WWII. We were looked after, with cookies and water, brollies to hand, even info from Yannis to help us better negotiate the museum and archeological site….we wouldn’t hesitate to book another tip. The company communications prior were spot on, there is flexibility to accommodate your day, and yes a private tour may be a treat but you get to experience the day all to yourself. Well worth it. Take the company’s advice - they know what they’re doing!Written 5 December 2024
- Jan H0 contributionsTwo enthusiastic thumbs up!Such an enjoyable tour! Peter was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the cultural influences on the history of the area. Would definitely recommend!Written 4 December 2024
- wvdieu0 contributionsThe ruins are the highlight. Worth the long car ride if that’s what you want to visitFor a family trip, especially with young kids (under 10) and/or elderly members that have difficulty walking on uneven surfaces this was not the best option. The driver is very long and the best parts is the ruins. If you can’t enjoy the ruins this is a day long car ride and all you get to see is the museum. If you love history and ruins this is worth the long car ride, but with those that aren’t interested or can’t make it to see the ruins it’s not worth the time or expense.Written 3 December 2024
- Curious167418404900 contributionsMeteora and The Hot GatesYannis, our guide was a wealth of knowledge. As a history fan soaking up his broad and in depth stories and narrative made our tour so much more interesting and informative. "Oh by the way, Alexander brought his army down this road. ". We enjoyed great local restaurants that he recommended to fit our requests as well. Highly recommended.Written 1 December 2024
- Alexa Y0 contributionsWonderful time! Thanks to our driver Peter!Such a fun day! Here for our honeymoon and totally recommend. We love history, and if you do too, you will enjoy. There’s some beautiful sights also. Peter was our driver and he was such a joy, so knowledgeable of the history of the sites. Very hospitable with cookies and water for us. I hope we can request him again. We were able to take our time in each place. Enjoy a meal with a beautiful view and got back in time. We had a wonderful time! Thanks!Written 27 November 2024
- 70meisterd0 contributionsEducational historical tour of St Paul’s time in Ancient CorinthTas was an amazing tour guide and driver! Since it was just my husband and me he tailored according to our interests. Tas was super knowledgeable and a great communicator (English is his first language) with a good sense of humor. Highly recommend this tour.Written 22 November 2024
- janepT33ZK0 contributionsIncredible day in ancient CorinthPeter was our guide. His knowledge of the Apostle Paul and the area was tremendous. He gave us ample time to explore and brought us to incredible sites that weren't typical stops. Everything was superb!Written 18 November 2024
- L3778UQstephenr0 contributionsGreat historical overview of Corinth and Apostle Paul's time in CorinthOur tour guide was Yannis, and he was fabulous. He has an incredible depth of knowledge about history, archeology and the scriptures, and a passion for sharing this knowledge. He brought Paul's ministry and travels to life for us, gave a detailed overview of the history of Corinth, and made many helpful suggestions. We started with a visit to the Corinth canal, stopped at the beautiful Cathedral of Corinth dedicated to Saint Paul, and then went up to the Acrocorinth fortress above the city. Yannis gave us the history of the fortress and showed us a map of the trails, but did not accompany us through the ruins, since only licensed guides may do so. Upon our return to the van, he took us to the ruins of Ancient Corinth and the museum, where we were met by a licensed guide arranged by Yannis (this is for an extra fee). She was also very knowledgeable and took us through the museum, pointing out artifacts of particular interest and tying them into the life and ministry of Paul. She then guided us through the ruins and showed us the site where Paul was tried and released, as well as the temple of Apollo and other areas. After taking us back to Yannis, he took us to a seaside restaurant for dinner and finally to the ruins of the ancient port of Cenchreae. We enjoyed every moment of this tour, and were comfortable in the van with water and snacks provided. We highly recommend asking for Yannis, particularly if you want someone with a deep knowledge of the Bible.Written 16 November 2024

Fantastic experience with Nikos as our guide. A cold bottle of water at every stop, an easy to follow itinerary, excellent recommendations for lunch and dinner and personal, thoughtful conversation/assistance. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) had a great time on this trip. I would highly recommend this trip, most specifically I would recommend Nikos as a guide to all our friends!!

George was our guide and he was wonderful. My wife is in a wheelchair and George made certain that she saw everything she could and helped in any way possible. He took us to great restaurants and told us about the history of Greece. If you want to see Greece with a local, George is your man. I cannot express how grateful our family was to use Ancient Greece Tours. Five stars is just not enough to express our gratitude.

Our tour guide, Sophia, had previously worked as an Archeologist and was able to share a wealth of information in an entertaining manner. Bus and driver were excellent as were accommodations. We enjoyed touring the country and sea shore. We like to do and see stuff when we travel and don't need much time for relaxing. Trip exceeded expectations.

Tas did an amazing job of customizing our multi-day tour. Our group was a bit challenging - two young kids, two senior citizens, my husband, and me (an archaeology professor). Tas handled it all with ease. At every point, he knew which restaurants to recommend, where to drop off/pick up to make it easier with those of us who couldn't walk as well, and gave me plenty of time to see all the sites in detail. When I ran out of time at the site of Olympia, he made special arrangements with the guards for me to get back into the site for free the next morning! The only thing that might surprise you is that Tas is not a guide, so he doesn't go with you into the sites and museums - that is self-guided, on your own. But he knows a lot about the ancient history and knows exactly where to take you, which is all you really need. An excellent experience!

Went on the Classical Greece 4 day tour run by Ancient Greece Tours with Tas as our driver/guide. From the very start he made the trip fun and educational, it felt like we were going on a trip with a long time friend. There were cookies and water waiting for us in the car, which was a very comfortable and new sedan - perfect for the 2 of us.
Of course we visited all of the amazing ancient sites (UNESCO heritage) that the Peloponnese peninsula has to offer and Tas primed us with lots of facts on the ancient greeks and for each specific location making sure we didn’t miss anything e.g. the site where the Olympic flame is lit in ancient Olympia before passing to Athens. In addition Tas took us to places we would never have found on our own and which had their own special magic. We went to thermal springs and bought delicious Turkish delight from the side of the road. We found an ancient limestone roadway with ruts from chariot wheels still visible. We added visits to the Archimedes museum (Olympia) and wine tasing (Nemea) to the itinerary. He took us to an amazing restaurant in Delphi with views all the way down the valley and was able to secure us a table with a prime view.
We also learnt about the Greek way of life today, the politics, the healthcare and many other aspects.
Tas ensured that our trip of a lifetime was truly that, with his own widespread knowledge, passion and love of Greece, its history, politics and culture - 4 days we will never forget.
