Very Informative & Thorough Tour
Aug 2021
My wife and I participated in the WWII - Battle of Crete Day tour in August. The driver was quite friendly - and the guide was quite knowledgeable on the subject. We were able to see quite a lot of the sites - several of the beaches west of the city, the Prison Valley and Galatas - Maleme and the German Cemetery - and several sites near Suda Bay including the Allied War Graves. I learned a lot about the battle - I only wish I knew more going in - since I would have been able to ask more questions and take better advantage of the guide's extensive knowledge on the topic.

Very nice tour. The original guide was infected with Covid, however they found a 1a replacement. Stelios knows everything about the battle of Crete/ Maleme and Galatas. On height 107 we made a short walk in the olive groves to look for an old bunker. Very nice, this could be done more often! Stelios gave nice proposal for books about the battle.

Insightful, moving and well organised tour!

This was an exceptional tour and had my attention locked in 100% of the time. Ioannis has an impressive knowledge of the battle and could answer any question thrown at him. The provided lunch was good given we were on the go for the full duration of the tour. I highly recommend, worth every penny!!!

This was a great trip with Ioannis (sp?). You should be aware that there isn't a huge amount to actually see, and it is a lot of information, but if you are interested in WW2 and the Battle of Crete, then it is well worth it. Ioannis is so knowledgeable and passionate, and we had a great little group of 2 Austrians, 2 Brits and one Aussie.

Outstanding - being on historic ground !
Oct 2019
I can recommend this tour to everybody who is interested in history with regards to history of Crete in general and Crete WW2 history, additionally to weapons and equipment used in the conflict of the German invasion of Crete by all parties involved (including the local civilians). Iannis, our tour guide, is a knowledgeable, enthusiastic person and we (my wife and myself) enyoyed this tour a lot.
Being brought to the exact locations (e.g. Hill 107) where the decisive action of the battle of Crete happended, was one of the highlights of this tour.

Excellent historical tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
We started the tour at hill 107 and we were informed of all that had occurred on the spot, and in the area. It was amazing to see the airstrip still in existence, and the German bunkers that were built after the battle. We continued on to memorials for the local resistance citizens, the British, Australian, and New Zealand soldiers. Ioannis was an incredible guide. Extremely knowledgeable, and filled with relatable stories that brought the battle to life. I would highly recommend this tour.

WWII Battle of Crete Tour would recommend it
Jul 2019
A great tour packed with interesting information and things to look at. The highlight was the trip to the home of the former Greek commando (who's name I have unforgivably forgotten) who has devoted his life to collecting memorabilia from the Battle. Truly unforgettable and a unique first hand insight that can't be gleaned from books.

Fantastic tour
Aug 2019 • Solo
I had little knowledge of the Battle of Crete before the tour and learnt a lot from Giannis - the political background to the invasion as well as the military engagements themselves. He is very knowledgeable, has excellent support material (maps, photos), and provides a very unique and personalised tour that I highly recommend. The private collection of war memorabilia is also very special and well worth seeing - the collector is doing a fantastic job of preserving Crete’s military heritage and his passion shines through. All in all, one of the best tours I’ve been on.
