We booked 3 tours with this agency and every tour went absolutely hassle free and perfect! We also got some nice and tasty surprises by the really really really friendly and helpful director of the agency (Yannis Sampsonidis). If you have the chance to, we can also recommend to have a private tour with him! We really had great days on Crete and learned a lot and we had the chance to visit some secret places, we would never have found. Thanks again on this way! My mom and I had the most wonderful experience - from booking to the actual trip. Mike, our guide, was simply amazing. He was full of knowledge, so nice and polite. He truly became a friend to us while we were in Greece. We will never forget the trip mostly in part due to him (and of course, this beautiful country.)

After reading the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor we contacted Hellenic Private Tours. They contacted us back by telephone only a few hours later. We were hoping for excellent customer service and that is exactly what we received! Our special requirements were immediately and skilfully transformed by the knowledgeable proprietor Frank into an itinerary with several options to suit our family, including kids of varying ages. Our main objective was a 5 day tour, however after discussing the reality of seeing everything Athens has to offer in just one day on our own, Frank suggested we consider doing a 1-day tour of Athens prior to the 5-day tour. What a great suggestion! David, our guide was fantastic and we were able see everything we wanted in just one day, and avoiding the crowds! (David’s 1-day tour reviewed separately). Having toured Athens with David, we now know we couldn't have achieved such a full and fun day on our own. We had the good fortune to have Frank the proprietor as our guide for the 5 day tour. He was honest, straight forward and nothing was too much trouble. He was polite, spoke great English and always smartly dressed. His vehicle was exactly as described, near new Mercedes, very comfortable and shiny and clean with good air-con. I was pleasantly surprised to find Frank such a safe and careful driver, (not something common in Greece I think), so we were very comfortable travelling with our two daughters aged 11 and 13. The itinerary was excellent. There is so much to see and do, and together with Frank’s guidance we were able to pick and choose what suited us, and also add in things for our children so they didn’t get bored. Each and every day was an adventure. In addition to the highlights of Delphi, Olympia, Nafplion and Corinthian Canal etc we also visited some beaches and a water park, when the kids needed a refreshing break. Frank was very good about this, and just made modifications to the itinerary to accommodate us. Other days Frank introduced surprises for us – an option of horse riding among the ancient olive groves, or the day we did a private sculpture class with a local celebrity artist at his amazing art workshop. The facility itself is worth the visit! We even visited a Greek winery with wine tasting. Lot’s of fun! (I noted even though there was much enjoyable wine on offer, Frank stuck to water as he was “working”. Very reassuring). Frank’s knowledge of local restaurants meant we never had a bad meal and were able to sample food from authentic Greek kitchens, rather than “touristy” joints. Frank’s local knowledge meant many restaurants were also places of interest, eg historical site or had great views of the local area while you dined. Food was always plentiful, tasty and service good and the restaurants clean. Frank’s attention to detail is second to none and he takes a personal interest in his clients. He had no problem that some days we had more passengers than others, and he catered accordingly. One very touching and personal side trip was when Frank, after hearing about our chronically ill child, suggested a small detour to visit the monastery of Hosios Loukas (St Luke - the Saint of healing). This is a world heritage site and worth the visit on its own, but we had never planned to visit. As it turned out, this side trip meant a lot to our family and we will always remember this gesture by Frank. By the end of our trip, we were sad to leave and really felt Frank had become part of our family. Frank and his team at Hellenic Private Tours really try very hard to give a very personalised experience. I can honestly say we would never have seen the side of Greece we experienced if we tried to do this trip ourselves. Congratulations to Frank and his team, you have exceeded our expectations and given us the holiday of a lifetime. It was money well spent, and we can’t recommend Frank and his team highly enough.
