Airport transfer, good service! I booked inadvertertly wrong day. Kindly customer service change booking at the same day. Our driver Vassili was excellent with good sense of humor.

Warning, Unreliable! Reserved a taxi online to take us to the airport. They canceled reservation at short notice in the middle of the night. They take your reservation and then try to find a driver and if they can’t find one you are left handing. Recommend to avoid them.

We booked an airport pickup in Chania right before our flight left Athens, and our driver was waiting as promised in the arrival area, even though our flight was 20 mins late. He was friendly and professional, and the van was clean and comfortable. He dropped us as close to our Airbnb as possible in Old Town, and then showed us the route to get to our place.

As a solo traveler and senior lady these are the only criterions for a taxi ride : Reliable and Safe ! I already used Welcome Pickups last year for the same ride from Heraklion airport to Rethymnon (1h30 approx.) upon my late flight arrival. I also used this Company in Sevilla (Spain) December 2022. It is actually a Greek company that operates in many other countries ! The absolute extra bonus is that you have all the information online or via the smart phone application. I book online and through the application I get the name of the driver beforehand and even his car plates ! The trip is paid in advance securely via the their website but can be cancelled. So no worries about paying cash. So far for all trips I booked via this Company, the driver was always on time, polite and friendly. Obviously, the Welcome Pickups select carefully their drivers and I could always have pleasant exchanges (in English) during my trips. The car was always clean and I was systematically offered a bottle of water. I found out that they operate in Bangkok, which is my next destination ;-) Congratulations and PLEASE keep up the great and reliable service I need "around the world" :D

Very comfortable and interesting trip, Dimitris was a fount of information, he took us to a wonderful little eatery in Therisos called Liméri which I will review later, I can only say loukoumades which were given to us at the end of the meal, delicious. In all a wonderful trip.

Wonderful trip out to the mountains with Dimitris driving. Went to beautiful orchard with oranges and avocadoes, a local hydro-electric waterfall and two pretty villages. Plus stops to admire the stunning views across the mountains. Dimitris was very knowledgeable about the WW2 history of this area. We stopped at village with lovely taverna for drinks and light lunch - reasonable prices and delicious local meze. Good driving, very punctual and considerate throughout. One of the highlights of our lovely holiday.

They were reliable, great at keeping in touch. Text messages to say who is picking you up. We were late arriving and I kept them informed and smiling on arrival to meet me

Our tour was handed off to a driver (Crete Transfers) with very little (if any) guide experience. He was an exceptional driver, but wasn’t good with explaining the area’s history and had no knowledge of the areas around where our cruise ship was docked in Souda. He did his best, but no one had prepped him on the content/agenda of our reserved tour.

We originally met the driver from the airport transfer we had paid for online. He sounded so nice and promising during the drive that we hired him to drive us to Elafonissi and the next destination. 2 days later, he was supposed to be at the hotel at 7am, at 7:15, he still wasn’t there. We asked the hotel to contact him, he didn’t answer. We contacted him again at 7:30, still no answer. We ended up hiring someone else (who was also cheaper) , but arranging things the last minute caused us to lose 2 hours of our time and a lot of stress having to reschedule everything else. We just wondered why he didn’t give us a courtesy cancellation notice if any thing came up on his end. Very disappointed. Trust is very important when you run a business.

When researching transportation from the Heraklion airport to the city I stumbled across a Google ad for Welcome pickups. For the same price as a taxi a driver meets you at the arrivals exit with a name card. My driver was professional, friendly and informative answering the many questions I pestered him with during the ride. When we arrived as near to my destination as GPS would take us he got out of the car and searched down the tiny side street where a car couldn’t fit to find the exact location for me. The car was a late model Mercedes wagon. Very clean and comfortable. The Airbnb I was staying at was self-checkin with a key lockbox, but if you’re meeting a home stay host at your destination the app allows you to enter their contact info and will send them updates on your ETA. Which could be very helpful assuming it works properly. The only possible downside relative to a taxi is that you may have to walk with the driver from the arrivals terminal exit to the airport parking lot. It’s only a few minutes walk at HER and my driver carried one of my two bags so for me it was really not a downside at all. If you’re hauling a really heavy load that you’d have difficulty carrying a few hundred meters this could be an issue. But I assume in such cases the driver would bring the car to you at the arrivals pick up lane. After discovering this service I don’t know why anyone would take an airport taxi instead.
