About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- T3142QQmatthewb0 contributionsAwful tour, awful customer service!Transport was 40 mins late, location one “turtle island” is literally just a bridge and an island you can’t even explore. We were told to go on the bridge, had one photo taken and then were told to get back in the minibus, we were there a total of 3 mins. We then travelled roughly 45 mins to a viewpoint, the views were lovely but again were there for approx 5 mins before been rushed back into the minivan for the next stop. The next stop a cave on a hill, which to be honest was completely underwhelming, not a lot to write home about on that. Again there for a few mins. The last stop was a romantic restaurant overlooking the sunset which was the best part of the tour, however we could have easily just booked a table and turned up ourselves without paying for a tour. Very disappointed to have spent around 2.5 hours of the tour travelling and very little exploring. No partial refund offered and straight up dismissed. Do not waste your money!Written 16 October 2023
- PetoB0 contributionsSuch a great day!We had a short stay of only 3 days, but still wanted to gwt to know the Island. We have booked the full day tour which included a huge variety of activities, sightseeing and photo shooting, swim in the blue sea, but also visiting an old olive tree where we could do some shopping. The restaurant where we had our lunch had great food and decent prices. Overall a well organized tour. It was well worth the money. Check the pictures, they do talk o their own :)Written 10 October 2023

- X2347FOpaulac0 contributionsLovely memories created.Very well organised trip the bus picked us up from the hotel no problem and took us to the office, we were a small group of 8 which made it feel intimate, the gentleman who lead the trip was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and negotiated the small roads expertly he went out of his way to be as helpful as possible. We went to several photography stops creating some lovely memories of our trip. The sunset was a little obscured because it was cloudy but it was still magical, you can’t predict nature.Written 21 September 2023

- vanessakA4522VA0 contributionsGreat experience with a great guide GeorgeMy warm recommendations, everything was according to the plan and punctual. George was very warm and welcoming, told us a bit about every place, made us feel comfortable and even taught us how to dance traditional Greek dance. He is a very good driver and photographer. Destination points are breathtaking, going in September felt like a good timing, weather was warm but not too hot, no crowds, we were a small group. I was very happy with the whole experience - thank you George!Written 5 September 2023

- emiliek9610 contributionsBest day visiting all the sights in ZakythnosAll day shipwreck tour was awesome. We saw close to 70% of the island by shuttle. The first part was by shuttle as we drove up the mountain to the cliff side. There was close to a 10 minute hike (I would wear gym shoes and change into sandals for photos). After the postcard scenic views, we then drove down to the dock. The boating portion was maybe an hour plus, we had 20-30 minutes to swim in the sea, then back on the boat and we went to lunch (not included). After lunch we went to a sulphur beach for swimming, stopped at an olive farm (had a tasting) then a farm, the last stop was another lookout point. Bottle water is provided. Bring a swimsuit, change of clothes, and a towelWritten 20 August 2023

We read the great reviews and felt with the hotel pick up, this ‘VIP’ tour sounded great, more expensive, but the onus on a small group was perfect.
Our confirmed email stated to be ready 7.15 to 7.30 am
8.00 our mini bus arrived, no welcome or apology for the late arrival.
The driver gave us a brief description of the itinerary, wished us a good trip and left.
There was clearly to be no commentary, which was a big surprise after reading the other reviews.
Unfortunately for us, our bus had a mechanical issue, not quite sure what the problem was, but it gave a near constant loud drumming noise which stayed with us the whole time.
The countryside is attractive, windy roads with views of vineyards. It would have been so nice to have learnt about the area and the history, but instead we had Greek music playing the entire time.
We stopped at a restaurant for restrooms, before boarding a motorboat. Our ‘small group’ then expanded as Dali Tours incorporated another group.
We motored about 15 mins before rounding the headland towards Nagio beach and the famous wreck.
All the photos and marketing show this wreck on a beautiful beach with the odd person!
The reality was very different. Mayhem
Many boats in the bay, we counted at least 20, some going and more arriving, the small specks on the beach were people, about 200 at a guess, plus the many who were bobbing up and down in the surge. Bearing in mind the boats come in hard to the beach to drop off and collect, this is an accident waiting to happen.
We had one hour on the beach, to be honest it was 55 mins too long. The boats continually sound their horns which amplifies around the cliffs. Any shade had pretty much gone, we were so relieved to leave.
The boat then takes you along the coastline looking at the caves and formations which was stunning. There is swell which unfortunately affected a few of the passengers, leaving them seasick.
Lunch was lovely, food great with a slick service as you only have an hour.
You stop at a parade of souvenir stalls and then onto the oldest olive tree. There is no visit to any olive press/museum, you visit a couple of stalls/shops that sell olive and honey products.
Next stop is Xigia sulphur beach for 50 mins, before the final stop Bohali view, our driver finally gave us a talk about Greek names and a little information about the geography of the Islands.
In all, the tour packs in a lot, but it was certainly not the VIP with commentary that we were led to believe.
Disappointed…….

Dear Guest,
Thank you for reaching out to us with our concerns, we greatly appreciate any feedback that is received. However, we should answer some parts of your comment that may seem misleading to other travelers.
It’s our responsibility to inform our clients about any sudden changes in our program. The previous day, an email is sent stating the exact pick-up time and a note: “Please, give or take a few minutes, according to the traffic.” If the driver exceeds the time limit, we always reach out through email or by calling you. There is absolutely no way we could have left a possibility or would have kept you waiting for half an hour, as mentioned.
The safety of our customers is and has always been a top priority, which goes without saying. Therefore, it’s an obligation that all of our buses are regularly checked to avoid unfortunate situations. Any sounds that may have come from the minivan do not necessarily imply that there is a mechanical issue that needs to be looked at. Moreover, all of our drivers are professionals who have been doing this job for years and take things that may put our customer’s well-being at risk extremely seriously.
It is clearly stated in the description of our tour that we share a boat with other people, not only our own group. However, unlike other travel agencies, we have the chance to get a boat with a maximum of 20-25 people on deck (or even less), whereas others have to compromise with nearly one hundred people or even more than that. Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that the Shipwreck is a well-known beach that attracts over 1 million tourists annually. The beauty of the countryside and nature never ceases to amaze anyone. That’s why we get one hour on this gorgeous beach which seemed more than enough for you, as you mentioned. Some people travel across the world to spend time on the Shipwreck beach and one hour isn’t always enough for most of them, even when the sun is blinding. To sum everything up, it’s easily understandable why countless boats were cruising around and there’s nothing that we could have done concerning the situation. Moreover, every minute we spend on the beach is valuable. We don’t get the chance to experience this kind of beauty every day.
We appreciate the kind comment on lunch. Nevertheless, it didn’t have to last just an hour if that wasn’t enough. On this tour, we are never in a rush. Thus the small group can easily comply. Our schedule is pretty flexible and can change according to your needs. The only thing you had to do is inform your guide and he could’ve arranged an even more relaxing lunch for you.
Last (but not least) our drivers are obligated to give information on every stop we make and of course along the trip. We have a staff formed of friendly people that guarantee a stress-free and relaxed atmosphere for you. After all, they’re just as enthusiastic as you about guiding this tour! Greek music is, without a doubt, part of our culture and shows a lot about the Greeks. The Greek music playing in the car shouldn’t be perceived as a negative thing, but not as the only Greek element during the tour either. As mentioned earlier, our guides provide information about everything that you get to see on this tour and they’re always open to discuss any questions that you might have about literally anything that concerns our little unique island.
We hope we covered (almost) everything with this response. Please do not hesitate to contact us through e-mail or on our phone with any further details or information that may seem important.
Kind regards,
Dali Tours

After reading the fabulous reviews regarding this trip we were looking forward to having a similar experience but if you can put aside the fact that the trip we experienced was nothing like the reviews listed here then you may want to look elsewhere. I Received an email after booking to say we would be picked up from our hotel between 7.20-7.30am. No problem. We grabbed a few items from our hotel breakfast which opened at 7 and waited outside. Tour van eventually arrived at 8am, and after climbing onbord we had no welcome or apology for the late pick up. We carried on to the town centre to collect other guests and eventually the tour started around 8.45am. The bus was full and our tour driver spoke very little English so we had no clue what the plan for the day was. The boat trip to the shipwreck is like nothing iv experienced before. Bali tours combined 2 tour buses into one boat so there must have been about 40 or so guests in the boat. The sheer volume of tourists on the beach was incredible and the boats and horns was like something from a theme park. Once the crowd died down we managed to get a nice picture. 1hr on this beach was more than enough and we were glad to leave. The boat navigated a few caves with a swimming opportunity and after about 2.30hr we returned back to the bus. A few guests were seasick so be prepared if you don't like swelly seas. We Had lunch at a tavern which served delicious fresh food and then we moved on to a few more beaches and a famous Old olive tree where you can sample and buy olive oil. The itinerary states it was a tour of the museum however this was not the case. A few stalls and some homemade products was all that was on offer. This is a long day and the van we travelled in had something wrong with one of the wheels because the noise that came from it was horrendous, like a constant drumming and it went on the whole trip. The driver was friendly but not a tour guide and gave us very little information on the island apart from to point our kefalonia in the distance and at the very end where he became more engaging about the surnames of Greeks. The trip was good for seeing the scenery of zakynthos which is very beautiful but if you don't like swimming in the sea, or crowds and would prefer a bus trip with commentary then this trip is not for you. We were a little disappointed and felt it could have been a lot better.

The tour itself was ok, though only highlight in my opinion was the boat trip, which we could have saved money on with other tours. The Olive farm is just a shop and crowded with other tours.
Paid extra to have an out of town pick up and they were an hour and a half late. I had to do the chasing. Kept given untrue times, i.e. they'll be there in 10 mins, half an hour, another guest was late, they'll be there in 7 mins and so on. I see another guest had a similar issue.
Finally, please ask your driver not to use their mobile phone while driving, especially on the steep roads.

We are so happy we decided to go with Kalif!
Kalif was extremely kind, honest, and did everything he could to make sure we had the best time possible.
We took the full-day VIP tour for a very reasonable price.
Throughout the day in the very comfortable luxury van, Kalif gave us fun information about the island according to what we were interested in.
We visited the blue caves, shipwreck beach, numerous viewpoints and beautiful secluded beaches, a lovely local village home (very special!), and the city.
I highly recommend Dali tours, we recieved so much more than we expected.
Thank you Kalif, we hope to come visit again!
Edden and the family :)

I went to Zakynthos for the primary reason of going to Shipwreck Beach. The day we went on this excursion, the water was rather wavy, but nothing that would’ve stopped me from jumping off the boat and swimming into shore. When our boat got to Shipwreck Beach, the tour guide asked who wanted to get out. Most of us were cheering and ready to go. But rather than letting us off, the boat only spent a few minutes there and then kept on going. I was confused but thought we’d circle back. The tour guide then had a conversation with ONE customer on the boat. He basically stated that the water was too rough for us to swim into the beach. I just happened to overhear this conversation. The situation was never explained to the entire group of us. There was zero communication. I can understand it being a safety issue. What I can’t understand is the lack of communication to the whole group. I could see that there were other people on the beach so that was also confusing. And if they weren’t going to allow us to jump off the boat and swim in, they could’ve at least explained the situation and then allowed sufficient time for us to at least take pictures and videos from the boat. It was incredibly disappointing. Especially because one of the primary reasons of my trip to the island was to be on that beach. When I plan another trip back to Zakynthos, I will be sure to book a different excursion through a company that has smaller boats and can get closer to the shore in case a situation like this would arise again.

An incredible experience. One of a kind. The wonderful Khalifa was our tour guide for the full day and made us feel like real VIPs, friendly and engaging.
So much more than what is stated in the description of the tour. Truly magical experience.
We even left our wine on the bus and the next day he took us back to get it. A true unsung hero.
We would recommend to all our friends and family and if you are in two minds, you need to do this tour. Incredible way to see the beauty of Zakinthos island from a local with a wealth of knowledge.
Educational and fun!

Well, let me start by saying it was refreshing to be on a tour that actually followed covid protocols and demonstrated an adherence to what the tour was described as. First thing we loved is the group was small, making travel around much easier and access at busy locations more navigation friendly. Halifa was very personable and knowledgeable. He made it a point to check on tour guests and to answer questions. The only downside( outside of tour control) was the hike to viewpoint above Navagio was closed when we arrived and instead we had to wait in a line to take a photo. As adventurers, my husband and I were looking forward to a trek to see the beach, and are not “waiting for a photo shoot” type people. That level of commercialism/ Instagram posing is not what we wanted. Nonetheless, all else was awesome. Great group, great tour, and a great day. We had a rough experience on a tour a few days before that left a bad taste in our mouth about whether we wanted to do another tour at all. So glad we did. Thanks Dali Tours!!

We really enjoyed this tour of Zante. There was lots crammed into one day which for us was great as we got to see and experience lots of different things. The coach was small and comfortable and the beaches we visited were beautiful! If you are looking for a whistle stop tour with lovely photo opportunities than this tour is for you!
A couple of factors to consider though. We didn’t get water included in the tour but plenty of opportunities to buy your own food and drink. Also the walk up to the viewpoint is short but quite treacherous (loose rocks) my dad is 75 and he struggled a lot with this.

Hello, we are a two traveller group(Couple). We would like to know if this group vip is exclusively for two people or will there be other random people joining us. My girl can't be swimming during the time of the tour, can that be arranged? Thank you.
