You'll also visit the Aamanns café for smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches topped with largely organic and free-range ingredients). Enjoy several craft beers at Nørrebro Bryghus, and nibble classic Danish snacks alongside. Your tour then finishes at the starting point.

- lolab2250 contributionsFood tour CopenhageIt was an intimate group and I purchased it as a gift for my husband. The final meal was great, and the restaurant superb. I loved the visit to the microbrewery. Our host was very engaging. I would have liked a bit more time in the food market as we had problems with finding the group so missed the visit to the cheese stall. Recommend.Written 29 June 2023

- Lemmyting0 contributionsAn incidental "Private" Food Tour that made Copenhagen Memorable!Together with 3 other friends, we planned a 2-days stay in Copenhagen with the food tour arranged on 28 Feb morning. We were warmly hosted by Katrine and had the very privilege of a "private tour" because we were the only 4 on this tour. Really love how the itinerary was designed, with foods sampling, nicely spaced walks coupled with explorations of the city through its food & history. Exceedingly good was Katrine's extensive knowledge on Danish cuisine & culture that went beyond food. Katrine certainly left me with the best guide/host experience after having traveled so many countries from east to west, personable & relatable in many ways! We truly saw Copenhagen culture through her eyes. Thank you Kat!Written 28 February 2023
- Berni M0 contributionsLovely well organized tour!Great and very informative tour with focus on local food. Everything was pretty good organized and our tour guide Julia felt in love with food, so she is definitely the right person for that job!Written 20 August 2022
- Schoong0 contributionsYou won't miss out on anything with the evening food tourWe originally wanted to book the day food tour, but so happy we chose this small group evening tour. We still got a quick glimpse through the Food Hall with enough samplings to almost fill us up. We booked the tour at the beginning of our trip, and definitely heading back to the stalls we visited to pick up snacks for the rest of our stay. Katrine was our guide, who was very easy to be with, professional, and accommodating. We really enjoyed getting to know a local's view on the history of the culture of food in Denmark. This was our first food tour and Katrine has definitely convinced us to participate in more.Written 8 August 2022
- Ju J0 contributionsNice tourWe stopped at 4 different places in TorvehallerneKBH for tasting and 1 full meal. All good especially those tasting ones is amazing. The guide Julia was very knowledgeable about the local cuisine and culture and she helped us spend a good timeWritten 2 August 2022
- kurgr0 contributionsEnlightenment in the Meat Packing District!Being completely stuffed at the end of this experience notwithstanding, this was truly eye-opening! This area of Copenhagen surprised us all with its rich history and additionally with the breadth and quality of the culinary work being done and not merely in the usual Danish favorites. To be sure, traditional selections were tasty and substantial. Piled as high as one of their roast beef smorrebrod were the other experiences that Simon arranged for the group which included small batch brewed coffee, lovingly crafted ice cream (and adult beverages with carefully selected mini-ice cream bars), bespoke chocolates, some of the best pizza anywhere (who knew?) and wonderfully eclectic microbrews! Despite arriving fairly hungry, we were a bit overfull at the end, but how could we refuse any of those treats? Luckily we had a 17-year-old to make sure no slice of that delicious pizza was left behind! We were very fortunate to have a super fun and adventurous group of co-conspirators, but many thanks to Simon for showcasing what is on offer in the Meat Packing District!Written 15 July 2022

This trip (taken on August 30th) was not worth the hours spent. Having done a few of these types of food tours across Europe, this one fell short. The guide did not say anything about the history of the city or illuminate why we sampled certain foods along the way. The honey was sold out so she carried something we had to believe came close to the botanical version we were meant to try. The food choices were haphazard and Danish pastries were excluded. It seemed the choices were based on a availability and not intentionally curated. With an interesting guide the tour could have been salvaged but clearly ours was not meant to be doing for a living. She could not have an engaging conversation about the city or it’s food. Our experience was poor.

Dear Guest.
Thank you for taking the time to review the tour. We're deeply sorry you had such a bad experience. You are not the only guest who has complained about the tour on this date and its guide. We have since reprimanded the guide and made it clear that her performance was not up to our usual standards.
Regarding the food, Danish pastries are actually not intentionally included since the tour takes place around lunchtime, where we don't normally eat pastries here in Denmark. As for the honey, we do once again apologize for the sudden change in product- our supplier has faced a series of sudden problems that have made it impossible for them to deliver to us or anyone else. That's why our guides are currently testing new alternatives, and why your guide mentioned that as well.
I hope that you were able to enjoy your stay in Copenhagen despite the bad experience you had with us.
Best regards, Simon

I have been on many food tours and this one was very expensive and lack lustre. Usually with these things you have a guide who passionate about the food and the city and really gives you insight on multiple levels into the place and history. This was not the case. Our guide didn’t really say much about the history of the city or anything really. She lead us around introduced us to what we were eating and then said something along the lines of “I’ll let the chefs explain it to you”. Which is fine but she had nothing else to add… ever. The actual food we had was alright, not really much variety. We had 6 kinds of smorrebrod, some cheese, a taste of honey, 2 pieces of candy, 3 taster beers, a hot dog and a flodeboller, a taste of red wine, different kinds of local sodas to share and a taste of sparkling wine. It just seemed really uninspired and not worth the price at all for the food and service we got. At some point someone asked our guide how do you guys select where we go and she said they just give me a list of places to take you and then I take you there. So detached and uninterested.

Dear Guest. Thank you for taking the time to review the tour you went on. We're naturally very sorry to hear that you had such a disappointing experience. We'll use your feedback to help improve our guides' knowledge of things relating to the tour. Regarding how the locations are selected; Your guide was correct in stating that all guides receive a predetermined route with set locations. These are in fact businesses that we have been working with for a little over 10 years in some cases. So their continued presence on the tour is due to continuous positive feedback about them from other guests. Even so, your feedback will naturally still be taken into our considerations as we review things here at the end of the main tourist season.
Best regards, Simon

I took this tour with my partner and we were more than a little disappointed with it.
We're very into walking tours and have taken food tours in the past, so we jumped at the chance of doing that in a city that is so known for its food.
Unfortunately we did this at the end of a week long trip and based on that experience I was left with the feeling that I could have chosen better food to showcase than the food we ate here.
I'm also sad to say that while our tour guide seemed like a nice man, he wasn't particularly loud or clear and often seemed to trail off before reaching his point. He didn't seem particularly good at commanding the crowd, who would sometimes talk over him and he would just keep talking at a lower volume and ignore them rather than repeating himself to make sure people could hear him. Another problem was that he kept moving the tour along without any real warning. He'd just start moving and we'd all have to follow him. This was the biggest problem for us at a couple of the bigger stops. I was very nearly left behind while browsing in the sweet shop and my partner spent an entire hour walking with a full bladder because we were hustled out of the bar without a last call for the bathroom.
From what I did gather, his talks mostly seemed more concerned with the history of Copenhagen than of the food we were eating, or that food's place in Danish culture. We did get some context for the sweet shop we visited and the Smorrebrod, but we didn't really learn anything about Danish hotdogs, or pastries, or even the chocolates we ate at the end. We had a little drink of kombucha at one point and it would have been nice to hear about why that preparation of drink is so popular here.
We actually found out more about these foods by googling them ourselves and there are often fascinating stories behind them that really belonged on this tour.
As for the history of Copenhagen, the museum tours we went on covered this information in a far more entertaining and interesting way and for the price of general admission.
Lastly, where three craft beers were advertised, we were only ever given two. The first at a Smorrebrod restaurant and the second at a bar. That seems like a clear cut case of false advertising to me.
It seemed as though other guests were unhappy with the experience too. Maybe it was an off day, but in the end, the food isn't offering much by way of value for the money you're spending, but that would probably be okay if the tour guide were more entertaining, or informative, or more in charge of everything.

Dear Michael.
Thank you for taking the time to review us! We're very sorry to hear that you had such a lackluster experience :(
Your guide is quite new to this type of tour, and isn't that used to commanding large crowds yet. We'll definitely be forwarding your feedback to him, as your experience naturally doesn't live up to our standards. He has gotten another very good review since starting with us, but it seems he wasn't doing that well on this tour, and we're sorry about that.
Lastly, regarding the amount of beer; this seems to be due to an error on the platform you booked through, thank you for making us aware of that- it shouldn't be stating that the number of beers is 3. As for your disappointment with the remaining food, we're of course sorry to hear that you were unhappy with it, since the tour is naturally all about the food.

Gitte was an amazing guide! She did a wonderful job of blending both history and food to make the tour extremely memorable. She was also great at accommodating everyone and making sure that everyone was comfortable and enjoying every stop. She was also extremely helpful in providing recommendations for places to go to after the tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Copenhagen as both an excellent food tour but also a great introduction to Denmark's culture.

What a great thing to do to get to know Copenhagen! Myself and my boyfriend are 30 and thought a normal history tour may be a little slow so instead we opted for a food tour and we were not disappointed!
There were only 4 people including us on the tour, our guide was friendly and made us feel relaxed. The food itself was good although it was more the experience of walking around the city and understanding the cuisine that was more exciting, the open sandwiches were good as was the hotdog and beer. I would recommend for couples, groups or solo travellers as it's a great way to meet people and really experience Copenhagen with a local!

As a first time visitor to Copenhagen, the high light of my stay was the culinary walking tour with our guide , Guxi. She led us through a series of culinary stops to acquaint us Danish foods. Her knowledge of Danish and Copenhagen history was phenomenal, and her engaging personality made this experience very special. While I enjoyed the open face sandwiches for lunch and the beer tasting, the Danish hotdog was absolutely over the top! Guxi encouraged me to dress the hotdog with all the fixings, and it was truly a culinary delight. This tour should be on everyone’s itinerary when you visit Copenhagen. (Also, ask for Guxi. She’s the best!). Don C.

This tour was fab, it’s the first food tour I have been on and it has set the bar high. Caterina was both personable and knowledgeable, giving us some history of the city as well. I had wondered if it would be value for money but it was, lots of mini bites and drinks to try as well as lunch, then a hot dog and finishing off with chocolate. It was lovely to see the city whilst we walked around the different areas. We did the tour on day 2 of a city break and it was perfect. The market and the Botanic Gardens were highlights. It was great to mix with the different nationalities in the group and with it being only ten, you get to chat to everyone which made it fun. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our tour with Julia and Simon. It was Julia's first tour but we wouldn't have known this of she hadn't told us - she was really passionate about food and enjoyed guiding us through the city to the different food & drink stops. It was nice to be in a small group of 6 as it meant we could hear everything and ask questions, and it felt very relaxed. If there was one thing we would have liked more of, it would be more historical/ cultural information about Copenhagen/ Denmark as we went round.

This was a fantastic tour.
Simon our guide, who was exceptional, met us promptly at 1030 am at the arranged location
Only after did he tell us he wasnt feeling well that morning but he hid it well.
We started off our excursion in the beautiful foodhall. Simon then took us off to lots of lovely places to sample a variety of local wines, beers.... Even sampling some unique honey in the Botanical Gardens. Everything was truly delicious
Simon was full of interesting information all the way with an amazing knowledge of the city
We were lucky also to be with a lovely group of ladies from the US and Netherlands

We did the tour last week and had an amazing time. Gitte was an excellent guide, switching fluidly from English to German to accompany everyone in the group. She was warm and welcoming and knew her food and history. She also gave us tips on where else to stop based on interests. Food tours are a great way to get a sense of a place and this one exceeded expectations!
