- 1After arrival you get some warm clothes and receive safety information on how to sit on the sled properly. Once you are seated on the sled we mush into the wilderness. You can enjoy the silence of the sled and the panting of the dogs or feel free to ask away questions to our guides about the dogs, our lifestyle and the environment. We sit on the sled for approx 6 kms to our teepee where we stop for a short break to have a warm cup of coffee and cinnamon roll by open fire. From here we head back to the kennel for approx 7 kms. Total duration on the sled is approx 1 hr.

- Harry Y0 contributionsGreat Fun and very friendly dogsThis trip is something completely different and we really recommend it. Driving the dog cart is straightforward but great fun and the dog teams are remarkably friendly and easy to handle. Our guide and the rest of the team were really friendly and keen to show us the whole set up. Don’t miss this if you are in Kiruna!Written 30 October 2024

- ssafeer950 contributionsA Frosty Adventure: Unforgettable Dog Sledding Experience in Kiruna, SwedenAn unforgettable dog sledding journey in Kiruna, Sweden! From start to finish, this experience exceeded all expectations. We were promptly picked up and whisked away to the kennel, located just a scenic 20-minute drive outside town. Upon arrival, we were outfitted with snowsuits and snow boots, although additional winter gear was available for those who desired extra layers. Knowing that dog sledding can be one of the chilliest winter activities due to the biting wind and the active nature of sitting on the sled, I came prepared with layers galore: long underwear, tights, fleece pants, double pairs of wool socks, a thermal shirt, a fleece, a buff, a scarf, a warm hat, thick winter gloves, and ski goggles for both visibility and warmth against the snow and wind. After bundling up and ensuring our warmth, we received thorough instructions on how to both drive and ride on the sled. Opting for the sit-and-drive combo with my partner was a brilliant choice, as it allowed us to share in the excitement of driving the dog team while also taking in the stunning winter scenery, capturing memorable photos and videos along the way. Our adventure took us through a breathtaking wintery landscape, weaving through forests and vast open lands. A mid-way stop provided the perfect opportunity to switch drivers, give the dogs a breather, and enjoy some quality time with our furry companions, complete with plenty of photo ops and cuddles. Upon returning to the kennel, the experience continued to delight. We had the chance to assist in feeding the dogs, remove their harnesses, and return them to their pens. The guides then led us on a comprehensive tour of the facility, sharing insights into the company and answering any questions we had. We capped off the outing with a cozy fireside chat, savoring coffee, tea, and cinnamon buns—a quintessential Swedish afternoon break. As a final highlight, we were introduced to the adorable puppies, allowing us to cuddle and capture precious moments with them. This experience went above and beyond mere bucket-list dog sledding, thanks to the phenomenal guidance of the guides, who provided a glimpse into the day-to-day operations of the kennel. Special mention goes to Francesca, our tour leader, and Vulna (apologies if misspelled), who ensured seamless pick-ups and drop-offs and contributed to the kennel's operations. This was truly an end-to-end phenomenal experience that left us with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the world of dog sledding.Written 31 March 2024
- 312stanislavn0 contributionsOvernight husky tour - what a unique and serene experience! Highly recommended! We booked an overnight husky tour and it was spectacular - definitely one of the main highlights of our trip! We were two friends and our guide Helena - she was knowledgeable and friendly and made the whole tour very pleasant. Each of us had their own sled and husky team (4 dogs per sled) and we were taughted to do everything ourselves incl. driving the sled (which is quite simple actually), (de)harnessing the dogs, feeding them etc. First day we travelled maybe 25km to a remote wooden hut (it was cosy but also quite spacious and can fit at least 12 people), made some fire, cooked dinner (tasty reindeed pasta) and just had fun chatting. Second day was a bit shorter (around 18km) but was more relaxing as we were much more comfortable knowing what to expect. Overall, very serene experience while driving your sled through snow trails for hours with no other people (we did not meet anyone at all), no engine noise, just your companions, your husky team and the occasional moose spotting. At the end, we played with the husky puppies in the kernel which were very cute. The kernel is family run and the whole team was very nice. Highly recommended, especially if you want to do an overnight tour which is much more unique than the standard 3-4 hour tour offered by every agency. Thanks a lot for a great experience!Written 29 March 2024
- colinpT2939OG0 contributionsSled heavenWe have had the most amazing experience today. Fransena, our guide was excellent. She took her time explaining about the sleds and more importantly, the dogs. Talk about Bucket List! We drove the dogs for 18 km through beautiful winter countryside. Had tea and coffee made for us over an open fire when we arrived back at base and were shown around the dog pens. All the dogs appear to be healthy and keen to do the job that they're bred for. Brilliant day. Thanks to all the staff.Written 22 March 2024

- robbo9970 contributionsGreat Husky driving experienceWe were staying at the Icehotel and did the tour where you both share driving the sleigh. The tour was amazing and one of the highlights go the stay. Really nice circuit tour though forest areas, to me looked a lot better then the one at the Icehotel so would recommend booking this one instead.Written 5 February 2024
- Marino R0 contributionsGreat people, great dogs, amazing placeThis tour and staff were really amazing. We booked Combo tour for 2 people. It's nice that transfer is included in the price ( if you have your own car than you can get discount) of the tour and that place where kennel is settled is a bit outside of the city so you don't see other tourists which is definitely a big plus. In the beginning we got really clear instructions how to drive the sledge and how to sit. Tour is 18km long and it takes about one hour and a half to make whole circle. After the tour we got coffee, tea and a cinnamon roll next to the fire, so whole experience was way more than we expected. But on top of all that, most important thing is that at this place you can see how much they love dogs and how much they care about them. They care about their condition, weather conditions, weight of people and you can really see from the first moment that dogs are happy at this place. All in all, great place to spend time in Kiruna. 😍Written 2 February 2024
- Tony L0 contributionsGreat tour even better 2nd time roundRecently did overnight tour and had the best time. Staff were great and made sure everyone was comfortable and warm in -33. One of our group was 3 years old and they were very good with her needs. Overnight stay in cabin was great, warm and food was great. Dogs were well looked after. It was my 2nd time doing this with Kent and Jordana and enjoyed even more this time. A must do experience and a great company to do it with.Written 20 January 2024

Terrible experience. They accepted too many reservations so we had to use a sled that they don't usually use because it is not in optimal condition, according to the guide. As a result, we fell three times and one of them my foot got caught while the dogs continued pulling the sled without obeying the guide's instructions. Several days later my ankle is still swollen. After this first fall, we capsized two more times. The only solution was to change the guide for another who had more experience. Even so, given the conditions of the sled we fell once again. If they do not have the appropriate material to carry out the activity, they should not accept so many reservations. The activity is called "Sit back and relax" but I couldn't relax at any time.

Hi cristina,
Unfortunately the information you received is incorrect. We never accept too many reservations... we have 80 dogs and are able to take many people for our tours, however we always limit it to approx 16, on your trip we only had 13 people. The sleds are serviced at regular intervals, cleaned after each tour and well kept. The problem on this morning tour was that the conditions were extremely tricky. The trail conditions were super tricky because it had been really warm for many days.. even during the evening the temperatures had been plus. During our tour we even came out with snowmobile and snowmover to try to help make the trail better. We make our trails very often, but in this particular morning tour it was just very difficult trail. We always try to tell the guests to sit in a proper way so that they sled is well balanced making it easier to drive. We also instruct all our guest continuously to mind their feet. All adventure travel comes with a certain degree of risk. In this case, even Kent who has more than 20 years experience driving sleds with all different weights and different conditions had a tough time driving the sled. Teagan is a wonderful guide who has worked with us this season, and it was her first time in these very difficult conditions. She tried her very best. Under these circumstances all mushers can have a tough time, experienced or rookies. So unfortunately your criticism of not having appropriate material or accepting so many bookings has no merit at all, just very tricky conditions.. that's nature..

My family had the greatest time on this tour and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable on the dogs. She answered all of our questions and even let my partner help with untangling some of the dogs when they jumped over the line. They provided warm clothes and boots which two of my party wore that helped a lot. The landscape was beautiful and the fika was the perfect mid-ride break. We highly encourage everyone who books the tour to pet all the dogs pulling the sled, it added an unexpected connection during the ride. We enjoyed all aspects of the tour!

Amazing experience with huskys in the middle of a forest. We've done the 'Sit Back and Relax Morning Husky Tour' a tour of 13km around forest and also on a frozen lake. A wonderful traditional fika in a typical Sami tend in the middle of the tour just make everything even better, with the chance to pet huskys. Moreover once we were back we had the pleasure to pet some husky's puppies that were adorable.
Everything was amazing from start to end! Thanks Husky Tours Lapland!

Considering we stayed at the Ice Hotel the night before, this excursion was unexpected as the highlight of our trip! The dogs were yelping at chance to run when waiting for us to get oriented. It was amazing being pulled through the snow covered forest, listening to the sled gliding over the snow... the most perfect opportunity to simply be in nature. Our guide, Ben from Australia, provided information about how the dogs are trained and specific details about each dog's personalities. We appreciated getting picked up from the hotel and brought to the cabin and kennel, so we could learn even more about the dogs' care and see the new puppies. An amazing experience that our very well-travelled group will never forget!

Highly recommended! It is a unique way to see Swedish Lapland. The people took the time for you and were very friendly. No rushing with time and planning. Furthermore, everywhere and shoes are included. Being picked up in Kiruna is a big plus, a 45 minute drive and then you are in the woods. A beautiful tour, friendly guide with a passion for his work, cup of coffee halfway and plenty of time to cuddle the dogs. May seem expensive but it is definitely worth it!
Afterwards we were dropped off at a location of our choice in Kiruna.

This experience was absolutely amazing and definitely worth the money. We didn't catch the name of our guide, an australian guy, but he was super nice and open when we had questions. The tour felt longer than what it actually was which made you appreciate it even more and you could sit back, relax and look at the nature.
Again, ++ points for the very happy and friendly guide!!

We had a wonderful experience with Husky Tours Lappland. Our guide was German like us, which was great to learn more about the dogs, the life on he farm and life in Lappland in general.
Taking the tour into the snow was magical, we even saw two mooses and had a lot of time to cuddle the dogs and later, the puppies! Thanks a lot for that great trip!

The experience includes the ride to the departure point but still totally worth it. I feel it was sufficiently long to enjoy wilderness and not put too much pressure on our bodies and on the dogs. It was -25 C when we went but thanks to the extra overall provided we did not feel the cold. If you want to stay with the dogs more during the break you can do that but a few minutes in the tent help with the low temperatures.
About the dogs: they are amazing. If you approach them from the front and they smell you, they accept cuddles and some of them even ask for more. They are so cute and so well trained. We got to ride with some younger dogs too and you could tell they were doing their best to learn from the adults :)
About the place: picture tells all, paradise. We got to see wild moose as well.
About the team: all super nice and eager to share information about the dogs, about the place, point wildlife. Definitely must do activity!

Went on the tour last year with my husband and daughter and we were so impressed that when we came back this year with my son as well ....it was the first thing on the itinerary.
Guides ensure you have everything you need to stay warm, clothing, hot drink and cinnamon roll.
Dogs can’t wait to get going and love the run they have. I would recommend the tour to everyone going to Kiruna.

The warm drink and snack was very endearing, gave the guests a chance to learn more about the dogs and the guides while relaxing and warming up. The guides take very good care of their team and it's clear to see the dogs are cared for. Speaking of which, they are all very friendly and happy to see you when you arrive. We went through a home made trail taylored according to the weather and the dogs, it was amazing! We got the chance to see beautiful landscapes all the way and enjoy nature at it's finest.
Would totally do it again and would love to try a new trail.
