        No trip, no refund
The tour was canceled an hour before it was supposed to start. After requesting a refund I still haven't received a refund. It's been over a month now.

        Great experience
This was a really cool activity to do, I do wish there were some things we know before we signed up. We were staying at Vaattunki resort which is a little out of town. Our meet time was 6:15. We drove to city office of Safartika (stopping at Santa village for a pickup) and then had to wait about 30 mins for a bus to arrive to take us and the other 27 people booked on the trip. Apparently this trip is sold out every day. We left office at 7:30 for our 30 min ride to the lake. We were then split into two groups. We were in the first group who changed and floated. Getting in and out of the lake is a little precarious as there is only 1 guide suited for the float. We had about 6 children in our group and it is quite a scary feeling getting in the cold dark water. One of the kids panicked and started splashing and kicking around. As you cannot really move your head left to right without really lifting your head, I imagine the parent of this child would have also panicked. We floated for about 30 mins and at that point I would’ve been happy to leave, however we had to then wait in the tepee for the next group to go through the whole experience. We finally got back after dropping many off along the way at 11:30pm. This is a good experience but could be streamlined by Safartika. Northern lights were visible through iPhone this night but you couldn’t really be able to see from the water as it’s too hard to keep your head up. It’s also hard to get photos. One woman in our group gave the camera to the guide and we airdropped after the event.

ICE FLOATING WITH THE BEST GUIDE
THE BEST GUIDE - IRENA😍 lovely woman with amazing knowledge! She took us for Ice Floating, she showed us everything and made our dreams come true! It was so special to spend time with her and we will never forget it. Her involvement and and character was so charming, she was so open to our questions (we had A LOT)🤪 We really loved her and that trip!

        A complete rip off
£191.20 PER PERSON- for a 13 minute husky sleigh ride, followed by being led to a small kuta (hut with a fire place) so the guides could talk along themselves with 2 or 3 groups of people wedged into a small hut. The guides made absolutely no effort to then go and try and see the northern lights, you pay £191.20 per person for a 13 minute sleigh ride, the dogs were great but for a 3.5 hr tour I expected a lot more, so many other guides offer this experience but for a lot better value for money; please do your research before making the same mistake we did. A complete rip off.

Reasonable prices, hotel pickup and BBQ
This was the cheapest tour offering with a pick up in Rovaniemi in January. The tour shuttle picked me up from my hotel on the outskirts of the city to a central location where a bus took me on the tour. The staff were pretty friendly and informative. They take you to a small camp just off the highway with Native American style teepees. Campfires are built inside and outside the tents and we are given marshmallows and sausages to cook over the campfires. There is plenty of berry tea drinks to go with it. Northern lights are pretty fleeting and a lot depends on the ambient atmosphere during the tour. I did not have any luck seeing any Northern lights. But, you have to try by going on such tours. It was a good experience with this company. The tour was well organized and you do get cold so wear proper winter wear.

        DREAM COME TRUE
It was my only night in Rovaniemi and therefore ONLY chance to see northern lights. Since I did a solo trip, I decided to book this photography tour and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. Everything was well organized - if you stay in Rovaniemi center, you’ll meet the guides in the main office, where you can also change into warm overalls (not mandatory). Then you get on a bus and drive approximately 1H to reach the location. However, we never made it there and stopped on some other frozen lake on the way because the aurora activity was already very strong. Some guides set the photo set while others already prepare everything for the BBQ. You need to wait in line to get your turn and of course it takes time (our group was huge - full bus) so you’ll be freezing (make sure to dress up REALLY warm) but it’ll be worth it. While taking your picture, it is important to stay completely still for about 10s so that the camera captures everything perfectly. Once you’re done, you can join the other guides by the fire where you’ll be offered a VERY delicious reindeer sausage (veg option available) and a cup of hot blueberry juice (local treat). There’s time for questions and the guides are also happy to help you with setting your phone, should you wish to capture aurora on your own. After everyone is done eating, the bus takes you back to the main office/your original pickup point. We finished your tour about an hour later (after midnight) as we were exceptionally large group. The whole experience was worth every penny, our group was super lucky with the weather conditions and we received stunning pictures sent to our email the next day. If you’re not lucky, they offer joining the same tour within a week for 50% price. SPECIAL THANK YOU to our guides Antoinette, Marijn, Chrissy and Maria for making my dream come true on my first night in Finland!!!

        Something fun to do !
Activity combining icefishing and a 20 minutes snowshoe walk in the woods, lunch by the fire with salmon/bread and marshmallows. Informative training on how to drill the ice and fish. Nice staffs. From my understanding, it's rather rare to catch fish. More like a fun try. Duration a bit long though.

        Without passion
I don't feel like recommending this agency. The tour itself is ok, nothing special but ok. The thing I didn't like was our guide , Carlos: not at all friendly or sociable, he repeated things as if he were on the radio, without passion or even a hint of sympathy. I have done other tours with other agencies and the guys were completely different, full of enthusiasm and nice. I also emailed the agency to see if they had found anything I had missed on the hike and they didn't even respond.

Tour guide amazing, the tour itself not so much
We actually took the 5 km one but I guess it’s the same. We didn’t like the experience that much, the owner of the place didn’t explain anything to us about the dogs, the tradition behind it etc. the ride itself had a nice view, it was on a frozen lake, so you get the same view for the whole ride and you have to go with strangers if you’re not a group of 4 people. Also the dogs didn’t go fast, maybe because they were tired? Not sure how many rides they do per day. I would give 5+ stars to our guide Cristina, she was the only one to actually explain what kind of dogs they used for the ride, the history etc and she was super nice and prepared, so I would definitely recommend to take tours with her!

Don’t use this tour agency, Thera are mor responsable an high quality service
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the complete disorganization of the tour. Two days before the tour, I was informed of an arbitrary schedule change, only for it to be reverted to the original time later. This should have been an early indication of the lack of coordination. Upon arriving at the meeting point, the area was overcrowded and chaotic, making it impossible to navigate or find assistance. There was no staff available to provide clear guidance, let alone respond kindly to inquiries. Eventually, a young man rushed us to a small 5x5 meter cabin packed with 20 people attempting to change in an incredibly cramped space. The so-called “guide” neither offered assistance nor explained what was going to happen. We were left to fend for ourselves, moving between the facilities and the water without any support. My mother was given a wetsuit that was already wet, which soaked her socks and thermal clothing before the activity even began. When she requested a different suit, the overcrowding made the situation unbearable, triggering claustrophobia and preventing her from completing the experience. The lack of organization was evident in every aspect: overbooked groups, poorly trained staff, and a complete absence of customer service. The facilities were inadequate, with just one restroom for an excessive number of people. The area where we were supposed to float was overcrowded, causing constant collisions with others. Back in the “dressing room,” there was no one available to assist with removing the wetsuit. Later, we were offered a small cup of hot sugary juice in another overcrowded space, where it was impossible to even sit down. The entire experience was unpleasant due to the poor equipment, excessive number of participants, and lack of service. I would neither recommend your tours nor book with your company again. In contrast, we recently participated in several tours with Arctic Circle, which provided a vastly superior experience. Their staff prioritizes customer care, uses high-quality equipment, offers spacious facilities, and handles everything professionally. I hope this reaches your customer service team. This was a complete organizational disaster, and we were deeply dissatisfied with every aspect of the tour

Amazing!! Great snowmobile tour. All equipment supplied, clear instructions and well catered for all skill levels. The track was nice and close to Rovamami so the commute time only 15 minutes or so. Great day out!

BIG GROUP TOURS - Disappointed by how they handled their mistake
We booked 2 tours with this provider: 1 booked with Manawa (Northern light esperience), and 1 booked directly on-site (snowmobile tour). The Northern light experience takes place within a big group (full bus), and the location is only 15 minutes' drive from Rovaniemi: once you arrive there, you don't change location, you sit there, make a barbecue and (fingers crossed!) you can see the Northern lights. Then, we booked on-site a snowmobile tour, wich was overall nice; however, we are very disappointed by the last-second change in the starting time that was communicated to us by Whatsapp only 4.5 hours after we booked the tour directly at their office! Around 17:00, we booked the tour for the day after at 10:00 am; then, around 21:30, they called us to say that - due to a mistake ok their side - the tour was moved at 8:30 am. We asked for an explanation, we wanted to get our money back since we were not happy with the new starting time, but they refused to give our money back. We are sorry but this last second change due to their mistake - without giving us any explanation - was UNACCEPTABLE!

We booked this evening activity knowing full well from the start that we would not be able to see the Northern Lights as the weather conditions did not allow it. Anyway, we had a fun-filled few hours thanks to guide Matthew. We were a small group of 5 people, after the explanation on how to drive the vehicle, we set off quickly aboard our snowmobiles entering the forest. After a beautiful route, we made a short stop to fully enjoy a barbecue in the snow (on a frozen lake), tasting sausages and drinking a warm blueberry juice. The northern sky, although cloudy, is still fascinating and we had plenty of time to admire it. We then set off again, following the same route again. Guaranteed fun, highly recommended activity! Thanks Matthew :)

Tour: Northern Lights Snowmobile Hunt - I enjoyed this tour and recommend it!

It was a little chaotic when everyone was getting their overalls, but this is common when there’s such a large group. The tour was still very organized and the guides were very knowledgeable. Upon arrival at the start point, the guides explained us how to safely operate the snowmobile. After we ride for a while, we stopped to set up the fire, grill some sausages, and search for the northern lights. It was like -19°C outside! Some people decided to leave earlier and unfortunately, missed the northern lights. Weather wasn’t in our favor, but at least we were able to see them. With this being said, be prepared to spend multiple hours outside and layer-up. The overalls are good but you still need to wear all other layers, to include a down jacket if it’s very cold. For the return, those that wanted to go ‘faster’ were grouped together, which was very cool. Overall, I liked that we were never rushed, enabled to soak-in our surroundings, and enjoy the experience. Thanks!

We were a party of 4 family and friend. We had been on a previous tour with the Lapland Welcome company in Rovaniemi and wish we had booked again with them. This tour with Nordic unique travels was terrible the guide was lovely, but the company have poor ethics and integrity charging €179 per person for this safari which was done across the road from the well lit up Santa village so much light pollution which prevented us from seeing any Northern lights that were showing on the radar. Not value for money and not even 1km done on the snow mobile also the equipment they give you to wear doesn’t stop you from feeling the cold, I had holes in my suit and footwear, so not worth it! In my personal opinion book your safari with the locals of Rovaniemi, Lapland welcome, I’m not affiliated in any way, just my personal experience with them was 100% better. Don’t waste your money on N.U.T.

Dear Maree L, Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that you had unpleasant experience during the tour. Our snowmobile activities just start from Napapiirin with lights across Santa Claus Village where the guides can deliver clear driving instructions for safety, but then after that, the track is mostly in the forests during the whole tour, so away from lights in the Santa Claus Village mentioned. However, please still kindly note that Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and difficult to be guaranteed even it's dark enough. This tour you indicated in the review includes 1-hour snowmobile driving, and the actualy distance can depend on many different factors especially group speed and also snow condition, but normally there will be more than 10km, and when the snow condition is good, the distance can even reach 20km. Our guides always make sure customers have enough time to drive snowmobiles, but at the same time keeping an eye on the snow condition since safety is our first priority. Therefore, 1km mentioned in your review seems abnormal for us. Since we can't find your name in our system, could you please let us know which date you attended our tour, so we can better investigate further with our guides? Looking forward to hearing from you, and it will be our pleasure to listen to you and make improvements. We also appreciate your compliment for our tour guide in your feedback meanwhile and it's our strongest motivation to provide excellent experience during our services. Thank you again for your time and the feedback. Best regards, Nordic Unique Travels Team

Fascinating experience. I participated on the snowmobile with Gianluigi, a really good guide. Very attentive to the group, he gave clear and precise instructions. During the bonfire he clearly explained the phenomenon of the Northern Lights and told legends and stories related to the Northern Lights. Really smart and professional person.

I missed my tour, I missed it by 10 minutes, and they left. I asked the guide(who called) to pick me up cuz I am nearby already. He said ok. But then did not reply for the next 5-10 minutes so I called him, and he said they are leaving already. He told me to call the office.

I called the office. Lady said no refunds/reschedule.

OK, fine it was my fault partly, I should have left earlier. But do know I just arrived in Finland. It is -23 degrees at 8:30pm,and I am not used to this weather. I honestly, sincerely was suffering from the cold but was walking slowly towards the office. But I admit, still my fault.

What irritates me though is that earlier on the day, when I paid in the office, I asked for pickup twice, the lady kept saying no pickup, must be there 9pm. I just checked their site, and they do offer pickup. Could have helped a lot especially if it is part of what they offer, rather than let me find my way to the office at -23 degrees at night. A pickup is what? 5 minutes to my place?

A reschedule or a little refund would have been nice since in their part, they failed to give the service that is included for the full price I paid. Instead, the lady just explained why no refunds, that customers have all reasons but they dont give it cuz they could have sold the spot for another, said bye, and dropped the call. I get that. But they should do this case to case basis especially since, like I said, partly their fault too.

We went on the snowmobile northern light tour and were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the whole tour. We were picked up on time at 19:25 and had to pick up another 2. We were told there are 6 of us in total tonight, where 2 of them were already waiting at Nordic office. When we got to the office, we changed to our thermals as instructed. However, we had to wait till around 20:45 before we headed for the snowmobile meeting point. This is because the 2 tourists in our group had originally booked for Chinese speaking tour guide as they could barely understand any English, as such the tour guide Marnel wasn't too comfortable. So we had to wait and wait as they were trying to source a translator for them. After waiting for the translator to explain to the 2 tourists, Nordic had accepted another booking of 2 people, so we had to wait again while they get changed.

We eventually left the office around 20:45 and got to the snowmobile meeting point, when we were told that we had to wait for another couple who was on their way there (so more bookings accepted). By the time we actually hit the accelerator on the snowmobile, it was already 21:45 (2.5 hours from pick up).

The riding was slow at best 10-15 kph although the track conditions were not the best. We drove for a while before we stopped at a place where there was clear sky. It was 22:00 and this was where we stopped to setup campfire to cook Lappish BBQ as advertised. Throughout the night, the sky was pretty clear but apparently there was no Northern Lights. We weren't informed that sometimes the light can be seen as grey-ish color if it was really weak/faint. We stayed at that place for an hour before we left to head back to our original starting point. By the time we parked the snowmobile, it was 23:45.

The original product advertised this tour as a 5H package from 20:00. However, my experience in this was only a 2H ride package and 2.5H of waiting time. For me to book 2 solo drivings at €179 per person, it was ridiculous and waste of money.

If your looking for a snow mobile northern light hunt, please look at other options.

Dear madam, Thank you for taking time reviewing us. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the Northern Lights Snowmobile experience, we are working to improve our tours and your review will helps us achieve our goal! We understand that you were not expecting to wait for so long in the office. But unfortunately since the 2 Chinese customers didn't understand English we had to make sure they would know all the Snowmobile procedures before the tour. That way we can avoid crashes or problem during the tour. I hope you at least enjoyed the drive as well as the beautiful Nordic Sky in the tour. Best regards Nordic Unique Travels Team

Our stay in Finland was 5 days but no doubt the northern lights experience was on of the most memorable of all. We booked our tickets at the main office, and the same evening we went onto the wilderness with a quick guide to how to operate the snowmobile.
After an hour we came to an open space where northern lights was so powerful that it blew our mind.
Under the whole tour we had pleasure of the company of Myriam the guide with great insight of the world and music and Bollywood 😊

Despite the rough terrain and the cloudy sky, we still had a lot of fun driving through the magical landscape of Rovaniemi, not at least thanks to our super friendly guide Manel!

The pick-up / drop-off from and to our accomodation worked well and we had a lot of equipments and clothing available for rent. The safety instructions for snowmobiles were clear and we got tons of helpful tips from our guide regarding hunting northern. The sausages and berry tea around the camp fire were delicious. Overall we recommend this acticity :)

Pleasant trip on a snowmobile. Their headquarters was a little too small for the amount of tourists that were going on the trip, so there was a bit of chaos before the trip. However, our guides Aldo and Lucrezia made sure that the trip was good, nice with the possibility of collection where you live.
