      An excellent experience
It was a great experience. The landscape was beautiful. Our guide Vero was very friendly, patient, and helpful, especially in the slippery parts of the path. Just an observation: the description in your site is not accurate - no second waterfall and lunch was experienced. This is not a problem as the tour was great and, understandably, shorter in length as family-friendly tour, but the description of the tour needs correction. An excellent experience throughout.

      Great Fun Experience
The Ice Fishing trip was an experience - there were just the 4 of us in our group which was perfect. It was hard work drilling through the 1 meter thick ice but reassuring to know how thick it was! Then it's a case of sitting there and hoping. The other 2 people in our group did catch something but 'they got away'. It was great fun and I'm glad we did it.

      Amazing experience
We had a great time. It was fun snowshoeing in the dark. We even saw the northern lights and a great view from the top of a hill. Our guide was also really nice!

      Ranua Wildlife Park visit
We had a fantastic visit to Ranua Wildlife Park with Tim. We loved seeing the different animals and learning about their habitats. Tim was very friendly and provided us with a lot of information. He made it really fun and we had enough time to enjoy ourselves and take wonderful pictures. It was a great experience.

      Fantastic snowmobile experience
We did the trip on the 7th February with Jordan. There were only 6 of us in the group so 3 snowmobiles and the guide. Instruction and safety were taken seriously before we set off on a magical 3 hour ride through the forest and on to the lake. The weather, scenery and sunset were perfect.

No Aurora but still a great trip
We did the trip on the 5th February with Thomas. The aurora forecast was very poor for the evening with the best hope being west - so we headed to the border with Sweden. There was only the faintest of a glow visible through the camera lens but it was still a magical experience and Thomas took some great photos of us against the night sky

Worst Experience in Lapland – A Complete Rip-Off!
A total disaster from start to finish! We booked a Northern Lights tour, and it was nothing but a waste of time and money. Right from the start, we were told that all other tour operators had canceled because there was zero chance of seeing the aurora that night. But this agency didn’t care at all and went ahead anyway, with absolutely no weather analysis or proper planning. Their strategy? Calling someone who said they could see stars… as if that meant anything! So, we drove 45 minutes for nothing, then the guides—who didn’t even seem to agree with each other—shared contradictory information. Meanwhile, the weather had changed, and we ended up wasting 1.5 hours doing a pointless round trip to Rovaniemi with no hope of seeing anything. To make things even worse, when they finally picked a spot, it was surrounded by houses with bright lights and floodlights, making it even harder to see the sky properly! How can a so-called Northern Lights tour not even consider light pollution? To be clear, we are not frustrated about not seeing the aurora—we fully understand that nature doesn’t guarantee a show. What we are frustrated about is the complete amateurism of this agency. The lack of preparation, zero expertise, and total disregard for realistic conditions made this a shameful excuse for a tour. However, we do not blame our guide, who did their best with what little they had to work with. The real issue is with the agency itself, which seems far more interested in taking people’s money than offering a proper experience. We were a group of six and paid €130 per person—so basically, we just spent €780 for an overpriced Uber ride to nowhere! If you actually want a chance to see the aurora, rent a car, use a proper aurora tracking app, and you’ll have 10 times more luck. Avoid this agency at all costs!

They made our dreams come true
With clouds above us my sister and I never thought we would see the northern lights but our guide Matus drove us 3-3.5 hrs away from Rovaniemi to spot clear skies. And then the magic was right above our heads, a day that we will never forget. We recommend taking the longer tour with WildAboutLapland for better chances, they do everything to make your dreams come true.

      A magical experience
We went on the reindeer trip. We met at the office in the centre of town and Jo, our guide, helped to make sure we were dressed appropriately. She gave us big suits to go over our existing clothes and also different boots to our own. We drove about 15- 20 minutes out of the town to an old reindeer farm in the forests. Jo was really helpful and informative and was great at taking good photos when we asked. She gave us a good briefing about the reindeer and their farmers and how to behave around the animals. The sleighride itself was absolutely magical - a train of sleighs, covered by blankets and about 40 -45 minutes though a stunning landscape. It was so peaceful and beautiful it really was magical. You do need to wrap up warm because if you are not moving you can get very cold, so the extra suit and boots were very useful, even though we already had 3 layers on. We finished up in a hut where we got cinnamon buns and hot berry juice around a fire. We were given a talk by a young Sami reindeer herder - I think his name was Nick? Apologies if I have it wrong. That was brilliant. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about reindeers and the herder's life. It was really fascinating and wonderful to see the traditions being carried so enthusiastically into the future. It was quite pricy but given the small group, the fact that you are brought out and back and the excellent guide and reindeer farmer, it was worth every cent! thank you.

Best team for tour in Rovaniemi
We had an incredible experience during the tours in Rovaniemi! Everything was perfectly organized, all informations and the activities exceeded all our expectations. The breathtaking landscapes, the attention to detail, and the kindness of the guides Vince and specially Martina, made our trip truly unforgettable. Not everyone is athletic and prepare for the cold
This was a great tour. We saw the Northern lights just as we were finishing up the ski tour. I expected to sweat a bit more because I had in my two previous activities so I eliminated one layer of clothes. Because my group was not very athletic, we had a pretty slow pace, needed to stop a lot and I was quite cold. Linea (sp) was a good guide, she gave us directions how to put the skis on and what to do if we fell. She also kept her pace so the slowest of the group could keep up or she would stop for them. She provided snacks at the end, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sausages with flatbread and a really good Finnish mustard. It was my birthday the day of the tour, I had already been out the previous 3 nights looking for the lights and was finally blessed with them at the end of this tour.

      Super fun and unique
I had an excellent time on this tour - our guide Jo was wonderful and helpful. I loved the small group vibe, it felt safer as I was skiing for the first time. We unfortunately didn’t really see the lights but could see them a bit in photos, it was just cloudy. It was cold but the overalls and boots provided were great and it was a very easy process from arriving at the centre, to getting changed, and getting on location. Ending in a little teepee with a fire was great and I loved getting a little info on Finnish traditions. Would definitely recommend this company.

The experience was wonderful, not only for the tour itself, but for the interaction, dynamics and relationship we managed to create with our guide, Hugo.
He showed us and led us along wonderful trails, always paying great attention to us and the whole group, both in the simplest and the most dangerous routes.
There was time for some fun and play in the snow and ice (we were a loud and playful group, we admit).
We saw unique landscapes, which neither the photos nor the videos translate everything we saw and felt on this tour.
The moment of the fire and picnic was a moment of comfort (the hot coffee, bread, sausages and roasted marshmallows, rises through life in the middle of the “neve” we caught).
We recommend 100% this company, the guide and the activity, it was worth it every minute. 👍🏻

It is necessary to drive to Korouoma in the city area, about 2 hours drive, and in the middle stops a short break and coffee. The leader along the way will introduce the culture and local characteristics, ecological plants, etc. ~ hiking walk is not difficult to walk, but the snow and melting snow will be wet, smooth, good waterproof shoes and outer jacket, pants are important, have their snow shoes! Not sure about the waterproof effect of their shoes recommended directly use the snowboots provided by the tour guide, very good to go!
After the departure, the guide will provide ice-nail shoes, you can not carry them yourself, and some tour groups can be supplemented.
Along the way you will see many waterfalls of different sizes and sizes,
2/3 of the way, the guide will demonstrate the original fire so that we can experience our own baking sausages, bread, hot drinks, chocolate, as a simple lunch.
    I think it's a great experience - the scenery is great ❤️

The Korouoma National Park is quite touristic and it can get busy. Fortunately, Wild about Lapland only accepts groups up to 8 people and this made the tour very good. Our guide, Denis, took his time telling us about the area and guiding us. It was a very cold day, but we had a great time and I highly recommend this tour.
I also recommend to take the overalls and boots from the company and use 2 pairs of socks and maybe heating pads for your shoes. It gets really cold there but the view is spectacular

Awful company to deal with, a little more consideration for customers situations and a focus on providing a service instead of taking money will go a long way for these guys!

We booked a trip mistakenly on the correct date and time however wrong month. I didn’t realise until the date of the supposed trip, I tried explaining the situation and asking to reschedule to our intended date a month later. But explanations fell on cold ears.

They were unwilling to reschedule and said we must book again and essentially pay for 2 trips (but only get the service they provide from 1) based on the website booking system there is green availability so it is not like the tour was full on the day it just seems to be a refusal to help. I understand this is a booking error on me but the refusal to help solve this is just disappointing.

I did this trip 1st Jan 2024 and it was a fantastic way to start the year.
I did a couple of organised trips during my time in Lapland and this was by far my favourite and the best value for money.
The day started in the office where I was provided with boots and warm clothing - required as it was -26! The office was organised and friendly (other tours were pure chaos!). The trip then included a 90min bus journey, a guided tour, a BBQ, and the journey back. My guide, Atanas, was very knowledgable about the area and found frozen berries for us to try. He made sure we were warm and safe. He was happy to take photos of everyone in various locations.
The walk itself was beautiful and we were also provided with a hot drink and a sausage sandwich (which met my gluten free requirements). Fantastic tour, would recommend.

We were disappointed with this experience mainly because of the guide Anna assigned to our group and her lack of engagement with the group. Anna walked at the front of the group, never taking the opportunity to check in with our family of 6 who were walking behind 2 younger girls. My husband and I are active mid 60yo who were holidaying with our 4 adult children. They were left to check in with us and at times guide us down some very icy tracks. Anna stopped once to help me slide down one of these icy slopes. (she had suggested to the whole group at several of the icy down hill tracks, to slide down them on our bottoms rather than hold the rope).
At one stage Anna became involved in a very verbal altercation with an independent tour guide who was suggesting that our group should be wearing spikes given the conditions of the snowfall). This angry verbal display was not a good look for our tour group!
Not once did Anna stop and wait for all of us to reach the stopping point so that we could all hear what information she wanted to share with the group. At one time we asked her to repeat her information and although she did, she did not receive the request graciously.
One final comment I made to Anna when we all finally returned to the tour van and I would like to make note of it here also, is that the Trip Advisor activity description suggests that this hike is suitable for 0-99yo. We all felt the age range is highly inaccurate when you are expected to walk or slide down icy tracks, you may be walking in good falls of powdery snow and that the last 800m of the hike is up a very steep gradient that the young, and definitely the active seniors, found very challenging. Anna estimated that the distance we had walked was about 7km.

Dear Rosemary, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your tour to Korouoma Canyon with Wild About Lapland. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. Following your review, we conducted an internal investigation into the matter, including all parties involved, and would like to address the points you raised. Guide – Ana is one of our most experienced guides, with years of professional experience across multiple countries. We regret that communication during your tour did not meet your expectations. Based on our internal review with Ana and other guides who were in Korouoma Canyon on the same day, we respectfully disagree with the assessment of her lack of attention or professionalism. On the day of your tour, the conditions in Korouoma Canyon were snowy, and Ana proactively addressed safety concerns with the group. She informed participants about the hike’s duration (approximately 5 kilometers) and asked about any physical limitations, as per our standard practices. According to her and another guide’s observations, Ana was attentive, helped participants navigate the nature reserve, and provided support in more challenging sections of the hike. Regarding the specific statement that Ana "suggested to the whole group at several icy downhill tracks to slide down on our bottoms rather than hold the rope," we must respectfully clarify that Ana evaluated the situation differently and actively discouraged such actions, recommending the use of ropes for safety. Gear and Equipment – We regret that you witnessed a verbal exchange with an independent tour guide, which was unfortunately beyond our control. According to observations from other guides present that day, the independent guide approached our team and expressed differing opinions on the need for additional gear. While spikes can be useful in icy conditions, the snowy conditions during your tour made the snow boots we provided a safe and appropriate option. Safety is our top priority, and we ensured that all precautions were taken to safeguard participants before and during the hike. Tour Description – Regarding your concern about the tour description, we would like to clarify that we do not advertise the hike as suitable for participants aged 0 to 99. As stated on our product page, there is a minimum age requirement, and the maximum age is open-ended, as active older individuals can also enjoy the hike. The description provides information about the estimated tour duration, the length of the hike, and a note that the tour is not recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions, indicating its challenging nature. Based on your feedback, we have updated the description to provide clearer guidance for future guests. On behalf of the Wild About Lapland team, I sincerely apologize that the tour did not meet your expectations. We value your feedback and constructive recommendations and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Lapland in the future. If there is anything further you would like to discuss about your experience, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at partners@wildaboutlapland.com. We hope that despite these concerns you enjoyed your time in Lapland! Greetings from Rovaniemi! Warm regards, Dominik Wild About Lapland

This is a must do when you’re visiting Rovaniemi in the winter time. This day tour takes you out to the Korouoma Canyon and its surrounding forest to see its frozen waterfalls and it was everything I was hoping for. We went hiking through a dense snow covered forest, the kind you would typically only see in professional photos and movies if you’re not living in Arctic Circle. The pictures and videos I got to capture of this winter wonderland were amazing and the frozen waterfalls along the canyon were a sight to behold! A big thank you to our guide, Vero for doing a fantastic job guiding us and making sure we were all safe throughout the whole tour! The tour started when we met our guide at the company office in Rovaniemi at 9 am and it ended when she brought us back to the office around 4 pm. The site is about a 2 hour drive southeast of Rovaniemi so the actual time we spent at the Korouoma Canyon Reserve was about 4 hours. This was a fantastic day trip and I definitely recommend you look into doing this when you’re visiting Rovaniemi in the winter time! - Nolan

The tour was great! The walked distance was only 5km and wasn’t too challenging but a basic fitness level is recommended. We did take a lot of breaks though, which our guide Alessia used to provide us with nourishment as well as a ton of information about the canyon, waterfalls and Finland in general.
Overall, Alessia was a superb guide, highly entertaining and professional at the same time. I felt really safe with her!
Near the end of the hike we ate some grilled sausages and warmed ourselves up near the fire before going all the way up to the parking lot.
I highly recommend this tour if you are interested in local nature and like being outside!

A wonderful tour company with guides that are clearly passionate about lapland and carry this out in their tours. Groups are small and there is genuine concern for the pleasure ánd safety of participants. Bonus points for their sustainability.

We did the reindeer aurora ride, korouoma frozen waterfalls, northern lights minivan tour, husky safari and reindeer farm visit. 100% worth the money, absolutely recommend this company when traveling to beautiful rovaniemi and surrounding areas.
