      Main cruise terminal of Helsinki
It is the main terminal for cruise ships within Finland and outside. We took a silja line cruise ship from Stockholm and arrived here.

      Cabins need an update
The boat is old and dated, the cabins need a huge upgrade. The staff is sweet, the performance is ok but for the price charged I can't believe that such old cabins should be in use. The food and drinks on board are very good and the common areas are lovely.

Great Two Night Cruise Stockholm to Helsinki, highly recommend
We did Stockholm to Helsinki, two nights on the cruise ship and it was a great experience. The staff are super friendly and helpful, lots to do on the ship itself and the cabins were really comfy. We had so much fun and would definitely do this again, the evening entertainment is spot on too.

More like a cruise ship than a ferry!
We got the mystar ship from Helsinki to Tallinn for a day trip and it was great. Decent price (107 euro for 2 adults return) and the ship was amazing. We booked the 10:30 ferry NOTE THAT BOARDING STOPS 20 MINS BEFORE TIME SHOWN. Boarding stopped 10:10 and we set off 10:15 and arrived 2 hours later to Tallinn. Amazing pub with live singer, many restaurants and cafes. Plenty of seating in different areas including a plane seat style room with lots of seats. Restaurant you can book or buffet places, we had food on the ferry back and it was really good quality. There is a covered glass garden area at the back of the ship or you can go on top in the open air. Kids play area and free hot and cold water points throughout. Easy boarding and disembarking both ways. Honestly can’t fault it.

      Loved the experience
Helsinki to Stockholm Hassle free trip Enjoyed being on the deck, shopping the stores and relished the grand buffet that was served at 16:45 and 07:00 the next day. Though my room was a smaller one, there's no dearth of facilities and one can always relax on the upper deck.

      WARNING for inflexibility
WARNING. If you have a dog which is classified as “hand luggage” at airplanes (less than 7kg) and allowed at most hotels in the world, Silja Line requires you to book a dog cabin which normally is without windows. Booked a suite with Viking Line and will use them instead of the old ships that Silja Line is running. They also charged me €80 when finding out about this, 13 h after I booked as their “customer badservice” basically run office hours….

      Great way to travel!
Took the ferries from Stockholm to Helsinki and Tallinn to Stockholm. This was the cheapest way to travel around, but it was great! The ships are like mini cruises. Shops, Restaurants, Casinos, Entertainment, they have it all. Staff was very nice & helpful. We had a great time on the ships and woke up the next day at our new location!

De “Luxe” cabin = 646€ !! The WC looks like wc for pigs !!!!
DeLuxe class cabin with window to the sea up to 2 persons… from Helsinki to Stockholm (route trip: go and back) it looks nothing of exceptional. Very simple cabin with only a few meters more bigger, small tv, very small mini-bar with very low cost bad drinks. The double bed was in the limit of “ok”…. The WC/Shower is really dirty, very old and not repaired equipment!!!!! WC and Shower are really extremely disgusting and smells so bad that I believe that even the fly’s and pigs could be intoxicated with that. This is a really scammers!!! Very expensive cabin “DeLuxe” (only the name!!!) see the photos added. Everything with the scammer stolen criminal price of 646€ !!!! (Go and back) SHAME ON YOU SILJA LINES SCAMMERS!!! HOPEFULLY ONE DAY YOU CAN BE IN THE JUDICIAL COURT FOR SCAMMING CLIENTS WITH LIES!!!!!!!

      Beautiful ship pricey meals
The ship us quite gorgeous. The ticketing agents in Tallinn ere not friendly at all. Imagine I bought the ticket to Helsinki are the counter and did not get ticket nor receipt. First time I'm seeing such a thing. So i asked where is my ticket she said it registered online. Then I said where is my receipt for the purchase she said the is none just show up for the date and time. It so happened I had to change the date of sailing and was charged another 20 euros, and only this time I actually got a receipt, a day after I retuned to make the changes. The ship was so comfortable and looks like you are in a mall. The tea and snacks were quite pricey. However, overall it's a lovely smooth ride to Helsinki.

      Enjoyable overnight ferry
Overnight ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm. Our cabin was in the bowels of the boat , compact and bijou, and the numbering system very cunning to understand. The ferry was otherwise great with plenty of room. We ate dinner in the buffet which was quite expensive and very full but it was all you can eat and our (nice) wine from a tap was included. Breakfast was the same.

Very impolite stuff at Italian restaurant (buffet for kids!) and shop with sunglasses - selling damaged sunglasses!
Rooms clean, ride comfortable, italian restaurant - very good (chef very polite and very tasty food), but other stuff impolite counting the amount of food on the kids buffet which is unlimited!!! Very bad! Shops - nothing special, very bad quality of branded clothes. Sunglasses Alexander Mcqueen - pink with red inside were scratched and damaged red color - they sell it as NOT damaged item!!! Terrible!!! Without giving disscount or moving it from shelf. Not fair to customers!!! And telling me it is not damaged, very rude!! Downstairs duty free shop-a lot of drinks and parfumes but nothing cheaper than ar airports even some cosmetics and parfumes, alcohol drinks more expensive!

      Tallink and Silja Line
The ship served its purpose as hotel/ transportation to Helsinki, I wouldn't do it again. The room was run down, bed was gross because the sheets did not cover the much stained mattress nor did the duvet/sheet cover the blanket/duvet fully, exposing a communal covering from person to person. I didn't shower as the shower unit was very tiny and it didn't appear sanitary to me. Cabin room is not made to sit in it comfortably, there is shelf against wall so you are unable to support your back. One small pillow, I guess they want you shopping and drinking not hanging out in your room. No balconies from room as usually too cold. I personally recommend packing a picnic and carrying on your own water vs. being in the overcrowded food lines, or buying a small overpriced water. The breakfast was very low end. I chose the cold hard-boiled eggs, an orange, and bacon. There was bread to make open faced sandwiches; the breakfast was not worth the price. But you are on a ship and options are limited. There is an area for dogs to go to the bathroom; unfortunately, some folks let there dogs use the poles of the ship and urinate all over them. This is unsanitary as there are small children running around and playing. The ship was old and run down. Fairly smooth ride. When I was in my room I felt like I needed fresh air. There was not a lot of seating outside, you were not able to walk in a full circle on the top deck because of work being done. I could not wait to get off the ship.

      Daytrip Stockholm to Turku
I took a daytrip from Stockholm to Turku. I needed to work and was able to do it from my cabin (with window) without any problems sharing the internet from my phone. I also ate the brunch in Happy Lobster- restaurant. Delicious food, great atmosphere and impeccable service. I have travelled these ships hundreds of times and this was one of the best experiences ever.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to leave a negative review on any platform. I was travelling from Helsinki to Tallin (return) and experienced a service that was more interested in exploiting customers than helping them.

We arrived at 7:11am for a 7:30am ferry to be told at the gate that they will not let me through because I missed the check in time by 1 minute (we can still see people boarding and the ship did not leave until 7:30am).

We still wanted to go to Tallin, so I spoke with the customer service team and asked if we could go onto the next ferry with Tallink, given we had a return trip booked coming back later that night. They said they couldn't put me on the next ship and the staff recommended I book a one-way ticket on the competing Eckero line, which we did.

We get to Tallin and enjoy the day there, however upon returning to the ferry to return to Helsinki, Tallink will not let me on my originally booked return leg, they have said because I did not get on the first ferry, I forfeited my return ticket (a ticket I had already paid for). They then ask me to repurchase the seats I had already paid for at an enormous surcharge cost.

The frustration here is that a ‘50 Euro Day’ trip turn into a ‘200 Euro’ day trip. I felt manipulated by the staff at Tallink because they directed me to purchase a way ticket after I had told them I had the return trip later that night, there was no mention that my return leg was cancelled. Had that been communicated, I would not have gone on this trip at all. Instead, I was stuck in a foreign city with no other options to get back home to by accommodation.

I reached out to their customer service department over the next few weeks who saw nothing wrong with the situation. I understand missing the first leg and forfeiting that ticket however to be not be refunded for one of the return tickets I paid for to return to Helsinki is hard to comprehend. They made me purchase the same seat on the same ferry twice and saw no problem with this.

Avoid this company, they are money grabbing and not customer centric. Recommend you book with the Eckero line if you look to go from Helsinki to Tallin.

We took the Tallink Star, for a day trip to Tallinn from Helsinki. Booked online, the previous day, with the help of the staff at our Helsinki hotel. We took the first ferry in the morning, I think it left Helsinki around 7am. We took the breakfast option, on the advice of our hotel front desk staff. Two advantages: lovely food, and comfortable seats in the front of the ship, with good views of Helsinki as we depart, and of Tallinn as we arrive. Smooth, comfortable journey. Returned around 6pm or so (it was just a day trip to Tallinn) Absolutely no problems whatsoever, I would strongly recommend this method of travel between Helsinki and Tallinn. The terminal is well connected by tram services to other parts of Helsinki. In Tallinn, it is only a fifteen minute walk to the walled city centre. Take your passports! After all, you are going to a different country!

Definitely a cheap and cheerful way to cross the sea between Helsinki and Tallinn. Good customer service I must say: we had a cancellation and they compensated it promptly (although they were not exactly proactive in this, I had to contact them first via chat and email).
Their ships might be a bit kitsch in a way, with rip-off prices whatever you buy, but at the end of the day they offer a good and fairly reliable service. The diffeence between the Megastar and the Star is big. The Megastar is quieter, with more seats and more things to do. Choose the Megastar only if you can.

We took Lounge for our cruise to Tallinn and back to Helsinki. This should be nice and quiet place with some food and snacs. Quiet it was not! Loud kids crying, screaming and hanging out on sofas with food on their hands.. I wonder who might be the next one sitting there and defenetly gets food stain to their clothes. Also, the food was quite poor. Two kind of bread with butter and two kind of cheese and two kind of cold meat for the bread. Cauliflower, cucumber, tomato and carrot. Nachos and salsa. Some biscuits and some nuts. Alcohol doesn't include (like in some other company cruises it does) I dont recommend this. Don't pay 25-29€ extra for Lounge in Tallink Silja cruises it is not worth it!

Very disappointed with Silja Lines policy:
Club One = Scammers!! Because the bonus points aren’t not available on higher seasons, it means : you need to spend money.
Silja Lines swimming in gold and really don’t care about costumers, and to doing something better. Very Rude personal without good manners and quality service who is very crap.
Cabins are ridiculously small and very expensive without any kind of sound proof. Restaurant expensive without quality food. Very industrial quality.
« Good » cabins like Commodore m, etc… are also ridicule very expensive more than a 4 stars good hotel los room.
AVOID Silja lines and save your money!!!
Take instead Viking Lines that is almost 50% more cheaper!!!!!

Impressive all around ... MegaStar is a very nice ferry with many good options for where to sit, eat, drink ... boarded, left and arrived on-time in both directions. Good value for money including the dinner buffet ... even if the food was a bit bland, it was more than edible and there were many options. Booking and check-in very easy especially if use the app for the latter.

We used this shuttle to travel between Helsinki and Tallinn and it was lovely. This 2 hour trip to travel between these two cities was well worth the price. We chose the early morning 7:30 departure and the later evening 19:30 return trip to Helsinki. Getting on the boat went very smoothly. We really enjoy the time we spent in Tallinn, so I would definitely recommend this shuttle.

We took this overnight luxury liner to cruise through Baltic Sea from Helsinki to Stockholm. Boarded in South Harbor of Helsinki (Olympia Terminal). It was huge ship (3000 passengers) with many floors (13 Decks) with promenade (142m long in deck 7), shopping (Duty Free), lounges, restaurants and what not. We reserved A-Class cabins for couple, pretty comfortable for a night nap. Had a Grande Buffet dinner (Massive options and Wine from Tap). Breakfast. This (or similar) trip is a must if you are visiting Scandinavia. With an extra charge (90 Euro) you may ship your car along with you if you want. Costs you 300 Euro for similar class travel inclusive of Dinner and Breakfast for a couple.

Very pleasant ferry trip . A first of its kind trip for us. The sights from the top deck was a great experience . The Bus we were travelling in,just got on to the ferry with all our luggage at Helsinki. We boarded the Ferry and had a pleasant 2 hours on board . Examining the different decks and what it had to offer. The Starbucks coffee was good. The shopping for trinkets experience was also good. The scenery from the top deck was also good. At the end of the journey we just got off the ferry and in a short while the bus with all our luggage also came out of the ferry and we just got in drove off. Thanks Megastar

Modern airport style Terminal 2. Tickets were purchased online before arriving in Helsinki and picked up at passport check in. Large open plan pre departure area easily accommodated the large number of foot passengers for Tallinn. Scheduled departure was 10.30 am but ship MS Star left @ 10.15 - be early. The ship is modern very clean with plenty of lounges / shops / restaurants. On arrival in Tallinn used taxi to visit Old Town as there is a lot of construction and road / rail crossings in port area. 4 hours is adequate if you just want a flavour of Tallinn old town with a break for lunch. Return on MS Megastar was scheduled for 4.30pm and again left early @ 4.15pm
