Dear Bernadette, Thank you so much for your review! We're glad that you enjoyed your whale watching tour with us. Minke whales are one of the four most common species that we see on our tours. We're sorry to hear that you felt a bit nauseous towards the end of the tour. We do provide the sea sickness tablets as you mention. We actually recommend that anyone who is feeling seasick stay on the upper deck and look out at the horizon. This usually helps more than going inside :) We are running our Instagram competition, so if you were able to get any good photos from your tour with us just use the tag #AhoyReykjavik to enter. We pick one winner each month and that person gets their ticket refunded. Thank you for choosing Special Tours, and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Iceland! Kind regards, Special Tours Crew

The staff are very friendly and the boat was spacious and comfortable. The cafe on board is very nice and on the way back they do a little educational talk. They let you use their warm overalls but I recommend that you wear lots of layers including warm footwear and face

Thank you for your review! We're glad that you enjoyed your tour with us and will pass the compliments along to the guide and crew. The warm overalls do a good job of keeping you warm and dry at sea, but it is always a good idea to wear sturdy shoes, gloves, scarves, etc. Minke whales and harbour porpoises are two of the four most common species that we see in the bay. We are running our Instagram competition, so if you were able to get any good photos from your tour with us just use the tag #AhoyReykjavik to enter. Didn’t get to see any whales which obviously was the whole point. This is clearly advertised and nature is nature. Did make me think however .... what realistically are the chances of jumping on a boat, going out to Atlantic Ocean and seeing one? Not sure but this is no

Thank you for your review - we're sorry to hear that you were not able to see whales on your tour. It is not possible to guarantee sightings since we are working with wild animals, but we do see them year-round here. In February of this year we had sightings of minke whales, humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins and harbour porpoises. Unfortunately there were tours that were unlucky and unable to see anything. Whenever nothing is seen on a tour we offer the chance to come back for free on another trip. This offer never expires, so whenever you know the date you'd like to try again please contact us at info@specialtours.is Thank you again, and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Iceland! Kind regards, Special Tours Crew

We boarded the boat and immediately I began to feel sick however within 10 minutes of taking the sea sickness tablet I felt grand. We saw around 7 dolphins very close to the boat after around 60mins sailing. Then changed directions and found a minke whale which we followed for

Thank you for your review! We're glad that you enjoyed your tour with us, and that the sea sickness tablets worked for you. White-beaked dolphins and minke whales are two of the four most common species that we encounter in the bay. The dolphins are often the most active and curious about our boats, so it's always fun to watch them when they come so close to us! We are running our Instagram competition, so if you were able to get any good photos from your boat tour with us just use the tag #AhoyReykjavik to enter. While visiting Reykjavik last summer, my wife and I booked a boat trip to see Puffins, and a second boat trip to see whales. The Puffin trip in the morning was excellent. We saw thousands of the cute birds in their natural habitat. Worth the trip. The afternoon trip was the

Dear Sheldon, Thank you for your review - we're happy to hear that you enjoyed your Puffin Express tour with us, but are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your whale watching tour. We do cancel the tours whenever the sea conditions are too rough to safely sail. If the conditions are rough - but still safe - then we proceed, as we have had fantastic sightings in rough seas. Since nothing was seen on your tour, you are welcome to join again for free on another trip. This can be used for Whale Watching Classic or Whale Watching Express depending on what time of year you return. The offer never expires, so whenever you know the date you'd like to return just email us at info@specialtours.is Thank you for choosing Special Tours, and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Iceland! Kind regards, Special Tours Crew
