We saw the hump backs!
This was a fantastic trip, we lucked out with the weather for sure aswell. We saw humpback whales and white bellied dolphins close up, it was magical and the highlight of our trip!

The boat was fab, with conservation info area and a fab cafe. Overalls and blackets were provided to keep you cosy too.

You could tell that the staff were passionate about their jobs in whale Conservative and ensured not to scare or spook the mammals by not over crowding them.

A must see in Reykjavik.
My wife and I had a great time. Our guide, Iga, was top notch! Highly recommended. We loved that they supplied suits to wear to keep dry and warm.

Amazing whales.
May 2021
It is incredible to see these amazing animals in front of you. The day we booked there was some bad weather and we didn't get to see anything whales or dolphins. So the company gave us a complimentary second visit. We went back the next day. The conditions were much better and we got to see a few whales. It was amazing! The guides and employees were all very friendly and great!

Humpbacks in the sun!
Jun 2021
Booked this last minute when the weather forecast was promising, and were not disappointed. The actual trip was operated by specialtours.is, whose boat Andrea was perfect. We had a knowledable German guide onboard who kept us all well informed, and had plenty of facts to give us during quiet times!

We were lucky enough to sight a couple of different Humpback whales, managed to see them close enough that we could hear their blow, and the amazing sight of the fluke coming up as they dived deep after their breather. We were lucky that the sea was calm and sun was out, but it's still cold on the deck, the warm coveralls provided were of great relief to many! Would go again and recommend to others!

Friendly guide, good boat but unfortunately no whales
Mar 2020
The staff were very friendly and the boat was spacious and comfortable.
Unfortunately we didn't see any animals but that's always the gamble I guess.
We were offered to return at any point in the future for a complimentary second attempt - which is nice but unusable for us as we had a full schedule.

Give it a try! You might be lucky enough to see a whale.
Feb 2020
There are many reviews stating that no whales are seen on such whale watching trips but you must take a chance and give it a go. We were so glad we did! We booked a 3 hour Winter whale & dolphin watching trip with Elding from Reykjavik harbour, which at present runs twice a day at 9am & 1pm, weather depending. Wear warm clothing because the very best chance of seeing a whale or dophin is if you stand out on deck, however thermal overalls are provided. We were extremely lucky to see a Minke whale, which the boat tracked for some considerable time and some porpoises. The commentary is interesting and factual and there is a café on board.

We actually didn't end up seeing any whales on our tour, but the excursion itself was pleasant. The crew were all wonderful and accommodating. We did not have extra time scheduled on our trip for a re-do, but we definitely would go with this company again

They cancelled the first booking I did and didn’t let me know( she said she didn’t have the email- but they suppose to ask u for ur when booking-mandatory) The time I got booked again, next day didn’t see any whale or dolphin:( only a few birds. Stuff were great, ride was very good. I enjoyed the boat trip, beautiful landscapes!:) Recommend but like the Northern lights only a few times a year.. whales only come out off the water sometimes to get air then in they go in the water for months.

Hi, Happy Holidays and thank you for your review. When you book through a tour operator they sometime don't communicate your email with us that's why we sent them a notification and they have to communicate the information to you after. We also recommend to customers at the time of the booking, to check our website before coming to the office for their tour where we post the status of the tours as soon as we know them in the section "Daily Dairy". We also post on this page the sightings of all our tours. Although some days are luckier than others, they are still sightings at this time of the year: Dolphins, Harbour porpoises, Minke Whales and even Orcas as we were lucky this December with this rare sight. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee those sightings at every tour as we don't control those beautiful wild animals. We offer a complementary tour to our passengers in case there were no sightings on their tour, without any time limit! So let us know whenever you are back in Iceland! We are glad you appreciated your tour nevertheless and we hope you had a great time in Iceland!
