Overview
The best chance to see some of the 20 species of whales that migrate off Iceland’s coast during peak season is on a guided whale watching tour. Your captain and crew take you to the spots known to have the most whales and provide plenty of information about wildlife along the way. Details like provided warm layers and motion sickness tablets make this tour stand out.
What to Expect
Arrive at a central meeting location in downtown Reykjavik 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time to meet your guide and begin your Iceland whale watching tour. Optionally put on warm layers and take a seasickness tablet before setting sail in search of whales in the North Atlantic.

Peak season visitors (April to October) can expect to see some of the 20 different species of whales that swim off the coast of Iceland, while off-season visitors might see other animals like seals and seabirds. Regardless of which animals are around, your seasoned crew brings you to the best wildlife viewing spots and provides plenty of information about the animals you see while you sail.

Admire views of the coast and spot wildlife from one of the boat’s three outdoor viewing platforms or indoor saloon, fully equipped with internet, snacks, and drinks.

Tour concludes at start point.

Please note: Check tour status before arrival directly with tour operator. If canceled due to weather, contact vendor to reschedule. Tour may be operated on shared boat with partner organization.

Great trip

After reading lots of reviews we decided to book with this company and we weren't disappointed. The weather was rough but we took the sea sickness tablet, so we were okay. Don't understand why people don't when the guides obviously know they are needed. It...More

It was a wonderful and enchanting experience for the views and this being my first cruise. The provided gear to keep from being drenched or freezing was a life saver, I would reccomend some sort of eye protection from either sun or wind/water blowing in...More

1st one was a random event as my flight out was delayed by a volcano and happened to have dinner with a guy who worked on a fast boat and he invited me out. Awesome! 2nd one felt like a waste of time. I'd offered...More

Enjoyable boat ride

It's relaxing and we did see some porpoises, they are wild animals and don't just magically appear so I really enjoyed it and if you like me scared of the ocean don't worry the boat is a good size so it makes it less traumatic...More

Not good

The original company cancelled and sent us out with another company on an already packed boat that started later and held up my day. Plus, we did not see anything.

The best time to see whales is the summer months. We enjoyed the trip in October and we lucky to see white nosed whales. Not sure about February, but it's a trip out into the old harbour, hopefully you will see something.
