Overview
Take a nighttime cruise from Reykjavik for a chance to see the awe-inspiring Northern Lights from the water. Head away from the city and gaze up at the dark sky, where Mother Nature shows off with this natural light display, also known as Aurora Borealis. The boat features outdoor viewing decks and an interior cabin where you can purchase drinks, if you wish.
What to Expect
Our experienced team will guide you through an adventure that’s hard to find elsewhere. Our ship has three outdoor viewing platforms and a large indoor saloon with toilet facilities and free Wi-Fi, always full with light snacks, hot drinks, soft drinks and alcohol beverages. This ship is great for cruises for both large and exclusive groups.
Be sure to book in time for best opportunities.

Head away from the city lights for optimal views of the Northern Lights. Sail out of Reykjavik on this 2-hour cruise and enjoy incredible views of the city from the sea.

Enjoy snacks and refreshments in a heated indoor bar, or put on the warm overalls and sit out on the deck to watch the stars and the light show.

The Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon, so if there are no sightings, on the tour the booking number can be used to reschedule the trip for another time with us.

If the trip is canceled due to bad weather conditions, please contact the vendor to reschedule on another day.

Please be at the departure point the latest 30 minutes before the scheduled cruise time.
Please check the tour status before arrival directly with tour operator.
Please be aware that due to environmental reasons during certain times of the year our trips may be delivered on a shared boat with one of our partners. At Reykjavik Sailors we are committed to ensuring the environment is kept pristine by making sure fewer boats are on the water during slower periods.

Northern Lights:
  • 1 - 30 September: 10 pm
  • 1 October - 14 March: 9 pm
  • 15 March - 15 April: 10 pm

Terrible customer service, creepy, deceitful

We picked this company for a variety of reasons. They had a smaller boat, family feel, offered warm clothing, etc. I never expected the lies, creepiness, and poor service. Last minute, they informed us they were pawning us off to a completely different company!!! This...More

Frigid Tour on a Nice Boat, Barely Saw the Northern Lights

The Northern Lights Cruise we took in February was cancelled on the first night due to weather, but they transferred us to the following night when the boat did go out. We saw the lights dimly and briefly (for about 15 minutes total) and when...More

Well organised and great boat

Very welcoming and well organised, we didn’t see the northern lights but found Sarah’s commentary excellent and informative, we were looked after and kept warm in the flotation suits. The lights teased us, but we were offered another free trip just because the lights didn’t...More

I'd definitely recommend going with Reykjavik Sailors for the Northern Lights tour. This my second attempt at seeing them in Iceland after doing a bus tour a few years ago. I went on similar nights to the other recent reviews but have a bit of...More
