Fantastic tour
Oct 2021
We absolutely loved this folklore walking tour in Reykjavik. It was one of the highlights of my family's visit. The stories really gave you a feel for Icelandic culture and we went to some spaces in the city that I had not been to before, Our guide was very entertaining and fun. The stories were so engrossing, that the time just flew by! I particularly loved hearing about the Yule folklore and the ghost stories. Our guide gave us god recommendations about items mentioned in the stories that are on display in some of the museums in Iceland. We had a lot of fun on our walk.

Iceland is a beautiful place with a lot of history and a lot of folklore. As a fan of folklore this was so much fun. You get a chance to see Reykjavik and places you might never have gone. Our guide, Styrmir, was so funny and made the tour for me. He was an EXCELLENT guide. Thank you!!!

Walking tour of old town and a cemetery
Sep 2021
A short walk around the original city area explaining the old pagan religion of Iceland and the effects it's still is having today. The tour guide is very dramatic and explains things well. Topics include the heirarchy of the different beings, the oldest tree, raising a zombie, getting revenge, the trolls demands. there is a walk at the end through a cemetery and ends in front of the parliament building for a photo shoot.

Hi there and thank you for leaving us a review. As we are always thinking about how we could do better, could you please tell me what you felt was lacking from the tour or the tour description so we could possibly get five stars? It's great to hear that the guide explained things well but would love to know what you thought was lacking thank you. :)

What a fun tour! Even in the rain, Stefan was a superb story-teller and was very personable with everyone on the tour. Highly entertaining along with seeing sights I would have missed otherwise. Definitely recommended.
We actually missed our original tour and they were gracious enough to let us reschedule. So glad we did!

Fun Way To Start Our Trip
Sep 2021
We had an awesome time on our Folklore Walking Tour.
Our guide was full of stories about Hidden People and zombies, and I especially appreciated a stop in an old cemetery. It was a really cool intro to Iceland to begin a much longer trip. It takes place all outdoors so although some people did not wear masks my partner and I (fully vaccinated) felt very safe.

I know it's hard to project voices, especially outside (I am a performer myself and have done tours in Boston), but due to COVID where people may not want to gather very closely it is my advise that tour guides speak up even more than they already do so there may be less leaning in/crowding around.

Content and delivery were fantastic. We are still laughing at some of our tour guide's joke. Highly recommend going to anyone planning a trip.

We had a fabulous walking tour today with Styrmir. Styrmir was incredibly friendly and personable. He made the tour feel very personalised and he acted out the stories with flair and enthusiasm. Absolutely loved the tour. It is a great way to see the city and learn about the Icelandic stories of elves, gods and zombies.

Folklore on Foot
Sep 2021 • Couples
We took this tour because we thought it would help keep us awake as we waited to check into our room after a red-eye flight from Minneapolis. We weren’t disappointed. There were only four people on the tour, but the guide, though laid back and “low-key,” was engaging. He made it a point to involve us all personally by asking us about ourselves and our reactions to many of his stories. We came away not only learning about Icelandic folklore but also appreciating why it is important to the nation. We highly recommend this tour.
