Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We appreciated the recommendations of places to go and the facts about local history. Our favourite part was her telling us about lake Tjörnin freezing over sometimes in winter and that you could walk on it then - we had a very good time walking across the lake. All the instructions were clear and it didn’t feel too long. Pictures are all from the tour 😊

This was an excellent activity for unfavorable weather in downtown Reykjavík. I even brought my dog along! Very easy to use and navigate. Recommend to anyone looking for an affordable "local" experience- no matter what the weather.

Took us around the main sites at our own time. The church was amazing. Enjoyed the walk around the harbour. Commentary interesting and pleasantly presented. Can thoroughly recommend this walk to visitors to Iceland.

This didn't really work for us. We were there on a windy, winter's day and taking shortcuts seemed to confuse things. Be careful after the Leif Eriksson monument that you take the road to the right (Frakkastigur), not straight down (Skolavordustigur). Best tip was the bakery...

It may be me, but I just didn't get on with this at all. It kept telling me that I was lost and I couldn't see how to continue from where I was. It was difficult to figure out when I was walking around in a blizzard, so perhaps if I had looked at it beforehand, things might have worked out better.

Really enjoyed this walk. The audio host was excellent. I did get confused with the download as it didn’t happen as per email instructions.
Once I got use to the workings I was away.
Recommended as an inexpensive and informative way to explore the city if limited time.
You can stop at any of the highlights then return to the tour

Fascinating landscape, friendly people and interesting culture. One caveat, the odds are against you seeing a strong display of the Northern Lights. We stayed in a hotel, (The Muli,) seif service, Obliging staff in particular Alexandra.

Loved the self guided pace and very informative insights about the city of Reykjavik. The hidden gems were a great highlight, would unlikely to have found those on my own. Highly recommend!

how does it work? do you need wifi to use the app? how is it shared if it's purchased for more than 1 person?

Hi there
You only need Wi-Fi to download the app and tour, once done the rest is entirely offline so you do no need to use your data.
It is an audio tour so you can share it with loudspeaker (altough I recommend to purchase one per phone as the audio is better via earphones)
