Great experience (with a small inconvenience)
We rented one kayak to explore Ponta da Piedade on our own and it was definitely worth it! We booked for two hours but they gave us 30 min extra. The only inconvenience was that we had to move the kayak up and down the stairs to the beach, which was not the easiest. That could have been advertised more clearly. However, I definitely recommend doing it!

        Great experience
Amazing experience with beautiful views. A lot of fun,the guide had a great sense of humor. If you don't have any experience in a kajak though, the introduction might be a little short.

        Great day out
This is the second time we have done the downhill bike tour with outdoor tours. Communication with the owner Frank was good and booking was seamless. The meeting point was in Figueira which is about a 50 minute drive from Albuferia. From there we were driven to the top of Monchique where we had a chance to get a refreshment from the cafe before getting our bikes and helmets, from there we set off downhill on a mixture or quiet roads and dirt tracks stopping occasionally so our guide Vasco could tell us about the area. One stop we made was at a moonshine distillery and honey factory where we we got a taste of both before continuing downhill then stopping at a small cafe for lunch which was a glass of fresh orange, salad followed by tuna pasta dish. From then the ride is more flat and does require a bit of effort now and again, but frequent stops were made to have a drink of bottled cold water which was provided. From start to finish the tour took around 5 hours and our guide Vasco was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and tailors the tour to the groups requirements. Overall we had a great day and would recommend this to both groups or friends and families with slightly older kids.

        Helpful, friendly organisation.
Outdoor Tours (Frank) organised my transfers plus luggage transfers when I did the Via Algarviana via MTB (alone). Excellent service.

        Best 5 hours
The downhill trip was an excellent day out on good bikes, mostly on a mix of trails, dual-track, single track, unpaved road and a little paved road. The tour leader was well informed about the surrounding terrain and natural features, sharing that info with the group at frequent picturesque stops. The support vehicle was frequently available for depositing and retrieving water, clothing, snacks. The pace was well set for all participants, old and young. The lunch stop, included, was well timed and tasty. Being a bike commuter at home, I've never "dirt biked" but would sign up for this one again. The start and end point, Mexilhoeira Grande is near Portimao and is easily accessed via car or bus.

Frank really helped with the whole trip even the minutest details. The route plan was brilliant with kids. We even got to see flamingos en route. Highly recommended as a family activity

        Downhill Cycle Ride
We did the ride down from Foia. It was very enjoyable with an excellent guide. It wasn’t too strenuous, even in 30 degree heat, and they provided plenty of water from the support vehicle. A great way to see the Algarve countryside.

        Amazing experience with brilliant guides
So much fun to do, and the guides were exemplary, keeping the group together, helping the whole way along and the value for money for what you got was amazing. Couldn't be happier with the experience.

        Great day out!
Great team with very good gear. The 45 km down hill route was a very nice way to see Algarve. Our family with two boys of 11 and 13 found it exiting and want to come back for thr off road tour. My wife also much enjoyed the ride. The Owner Frank was most helpful in organising the trip and kept us up-to-date based on the weather; we had to prospone twice because of rain (first rain in four months 😆) The lunch location / food was very nice too) Thank you again! Victor

        Brilliant Downhill Day
Such a great day (18 / 9) thanks to Tom and Mark and the rest of the group. Its a great route downhill along quiet roads and tracks. Lots of stops along the way to enjoy the glorious views, nature and lunch! This is a day I would thoroughly recommend and would definitely like to repeat on my next visit to the Algarve.

        Mountain Bike Hire in Portimao
Hired two MTB's for 4 days to get some exercise whilst away. Thomas and Frank provided a 15 mile route to tour the coastal roads and avoid the serious hills (we are 57 yrs old). Bikes were in excellent condition and we used them for daily excursions between bar stops. The area has many hidden hills which took their toll. Some great dirt tracks. Frank and Thomas collected the bikes on the last day of the hire which was much appreciated. Whilst maybe not ideal for general touring we will do the downhill on our next visit.

        best days of the holiday!
Best days of the holiday according to our 12 year old and I think the whole family agreed. We booked the sea kayak trip the first week and it was brilliant. Very easy to find and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to have a support boat following us and ready to tow us back to shore on the way back! We didn't need it as the pace was fine. It does get VERY busy with people doing tours of the coves and grottos on motor boats and this was the only off putting part of the trip. You may be best taking the very early morning tour - I bet it's lovely. The second week we did the downhill mountain biking which was fantastic. The guides, Tomas and Michael, were really friendly and it was very relaxed. There were plenty of stops for water and rest which was much needed as it was hot - even if it was downhill the majority of the way. Amazing views from the highest point and on the way down- well worth going to this part of the Algarve. A lovely lunch was served in a great little village on the way down. Again, there is a support vehicle which follows which unfortunately we did need as our daughter took a nasty tumble off the bike and was badly grazed. Even with this mishap though, she really enjoyed it as we all did. Thanks for a great couple of days.

We really enjoyed the downhill cycling tour with mountainbikes. Great guide and beautiful views. Nice, active way to explore the nature and little villages. The tour was around 32 km mostly downhill and that was perfect for us.

I had done a previous ride with back in 2013 and enjoyed it, so booked this bike tour again for myself and 3 mates for a full day at a cost was 55 euro per person
We arrived just before 9.30am to and got sorted with helmet etc. the bikes were in very good condition and well maintained and everything including safety was clearly explained.
We were transported by taxi & the bikes were separately transported to top of Mount Foia about 45 minutes at the top, there is a cafe so you can get a coffee or cold drink before you set off, but your also supplied with plenty water on the route.
The route down is a good mixture of dirt tracks and roads (never busy roads) and through some nice countryside and small towns and the guide stopped regularly to explain point about the area (cork harvesting etc), we stopped at a small village for lunch and was served fresh orange, a salad and a traditional Portuguese stew which was tasty, but if you have any fussy eaters better to pack a sandwich!
Overall a great day and very enjoyable excursion and would definitely do it again.

Since there were six of us we knew we would need some activities to keep us occupied and came across the Mount Foia Downhill Cycle Tour. What can I say other than a very well organised, fun and very friendly trip. Just the right amount of work and rest for everyone to really enjoy it. It's taken me a month to write this review so I've forgotten the two guides names (sorry), but they were absolutely first class, very informative regarding their surroundings, and happy and friendly. Thoroughly recommend this

We booked the trip via our B&B in Silves (Tapada do Gramacho; also a wonderful place we can really recommend) and we didn't regret it at all!
Excellent material, wonderful views, good company, a delicious lunch on our way and very important: a guide who learned us a lot about the environment!
We would recommend this downhill cycling tour to all people, visiting the Algarve!
Thank you so much, Simonne & Bruno, Frie & Patrick, Tom & Ilse
