Still the best boat in Malta!
Fantastic fun day out, been 3 or 4 times over the years, with family and as a couple. Something for everyone, swimming, snorkelling, sightseeing or just relaxing on a deck chair with a cocktail. Captain Kevin and his Really friendly and professional crew. They get it spot in every time!

      Speed boat
The speed boat was ridiculous the lad driving thought he was a racing driver !! Now I know we chose to go on the speed boat and am quite aware of their speed in the water but to be thrown from side to side at high speed nearly being thrown out of the boat an him thinking it funny !! I am a woman in my fifties an other tourists on the boat were also not impressed also when asked to move to the back of the boat my request was ignored the driver was an absolute idiot the rest of the trip is worth the money an have no other complaints

      Great day out
Fab day out, great atmosphere and reasonably priced food and drinks. Staff were great. Would definitely recommend this day out. Bring lots of sunscreen and plenty of water especially if you get the top deck!

      Dissapointed
Comino island is beautiful but extremely busy in August, I really think the amount of day trippers makes it a, safety issue could be dangerous if you accidentally slipped that's my view but out of season when not so busy potentially alot better

      Boat Trip To Blue Lagoon
Very Good Experience, Around 45 minutes each way on the boat, with a very chilled atmosphere, everything is explained on the way where to take photos and information, food and drink excellent on the boat, as good as a restaurant and very well priced, enjoyed the whole trip definitely recommend.

Experience while on the ferry to Comino and Blue Lagoon
The views are fascinating. We enjoyed the Ferry ride. However, we have one comment, we paid for the ticket for Comino, Blue Lagoon and Caves Cruise. When we get to Blue Lagoon we were not taken to Caves Cruise. I asked one of the Crews and was told that the sea is wavy so we didn’t benefit fully from the ticket that we paid for. We suppose to get refunded of the ticket for the caves cruise

      Perfect evening
All the staff were so friendly & helpful which is always great. I was worried the food sold on board would be an extortionate price but was relieved to see that it was fairly priced. The views were gorgeous & the captain would announce when you were coming up to a scenic photo opportunity so you can’t miss them! As for swimming in the blue lagoon I think the sunset cruise was perfect the lagoon had died down a lot & it was nothing like the complaints I see on social media of how packed & how busy it is. My mind was put completely at ease as you can get a life jacket as well, so this is the perfect cruise option if you’re not a strong swimmer. The deck chairs on the top deck are also a nice touch that many competitor companies don’t have. Overall a great time & would recommend them!!

Perfect boat trip to avoid the crowds
Such a great trip! The daytrip group got off the boat before we got on - and our boat had much less people in comparison. Beautiful cruise to the lagoon, then 2 hours to swim in the most beautiful clear water. The lagoon was lovely and much quieter than during the day, and the boat was moored just round the corner so we had a great clear space. We had SO MUCH fun jumping off the boat & using the slide, and it was nice to have plenty of time! The skipper was really nice, also provided a cracking playlist - all the staff onboard were really lovely. Food and drinks were yum and reasonably priced - the cocktails in a pineapple were great 🍍Cruising back in the dark looking at the stars with a beer was a dream. A mix of all ages, we went as a family - my mum & dad, and my sister and I who are both in our 20s. Totally recommend!

      Amazing
We all had a great time can’t recommend this enough! This was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. The crew were very professional and made it completely clear what the days itinerary was with timings etc. My daughter loved using the boats slide to swim in the blue lagoon.

Incredible birthday evening with my GF
The timing was perfect! We got to see the sunset while swimming in the Blue Lagoon and on the way back it was pitch black so we were stargazing on the top deck. Other than the Italian teens being loud and smoking next to us, it was perfect!

Sunset trip with a 2 year old
Brilliant trip. We travelled as a family of 3 with our 2 year old on the sunset trip. It always felt safe and relaxed. It wasn’t overcrowded and it was easy enough to get on and off the boat into the water using the ladders even with a 2 year old! Would highly recommend it and hope this review helps another family enjoy it was much as we did!

      Worth the hassle! 😊
We have been on this tour organised by Barbarossa Company. They have been punctual, helpful and professional. Excellent customer service via WhatsApp, to start with. We were a bit skeptical regarding whether to go to Blue Lagoon on a Sunday, but it was the only day left to us. Well, there was a bit of boat traffic but nothing impossible to cope with. Crystal Lagoon has proved to possess a better and more enjoyable snorkeling underwater surface than Blue Lagoon! But the latter has got this water, with the turquoise colour that gets to your heart! The only flaw I can possibly find is that the boat we have travelled on looked a bit old and messy. The space underneath, where we placed our bags, was really untidy. But that's it, nothing else to complain about! The Captain has been professional at all times and also a nice person to talk to. Same thing about his helper. We are very satisfied about this recent experience!

Horrible experience too crowded and no spaces where to sit down it’s the worst experience I ever had in my long time tra
Very bad managed place no room for the number of visitors. They could do better and build descent docking facilities for their boats and some stairs to avoid any unnecessary accidents climbing the rough rocks.

Highly recommend this experience with Hornblower. The staff were attentive and fantastic, getting to speak to the captain and his wife so closely was reassuring for someone who is nervous at sea! The experience is unmatched. The spot at the Blue Lagoon was beautiful. We opted for the Gozo tour - I would say unless you are desperate to visit Gozo then stay in the lagoon. We felt like we didn’t have enough time enjoying that beautiful place but that was no fault of Hornblower - just our own preference. Make sure you take the additional option to ride on the speedboat with Crazy Tony! He takes you INSIDE the caves for an experience you can’t get just on the main boat. He is hilarious and lives up to his name and has done this for years. Don’t try to save tour money - it is worth forking out the extra to do this!! 25 minutes on the speedboat visiting the caves is worth the €5. Refreshments are offered on board, you don’t need to pay any extra to sit on the top deck unlike other cruises. 10/10 would recommend. We are looking to book again before we leave!

This was one of the absolute best experiences my friends and I had! It was sooo fun and so affordable. The boat atmosphere was fun (wide array of people: families, couples, friends, etc). The music was awesome, the crew was super nice. The food on board was affordable (5.50 for a burger combo) and the drinks were also very reasonably priced. The stops were cool and I highly recommend paying 5 extra bucks for the Gozo bus tour. All in all it was an amazing experience and worth every penny! I definitely recommend supporting this family run business if you find yourself wanting to do a boat tour!

Trip advisor won’t let me upload pictures but trust me it’s beautiful and crazy!

We were looking for a nice boat trip and booked the Hornblower. And to be honest: it was so much better than expected. The Crew was friendly, funny and so well organized.
We started on time, we booked the bustransfer on Gozo on board as well as a short speedboat trip to the caves near the Blue Lagoon.
We were kindly booked for the first boat trip, so we didn't need to leave the water between. Afterwards we had an hour in the lagoon, then went to Gozo and visited the places ther (we thought we only booked one trip to Victoria).
It all worked perfectly and the day was awesome.
Price: totally worth it, 25 for the normal boat trip, 5 for the bustrip on Gozo and 10 for the speedboat trip (per person). The food was simple but freshly made and the beer was cold (for both less than 5euro, together)
The boat was clean and small lockers available.

Brilliant service, lovely staff, incredibly good value. We got there really early like 9am as buses are sometimes unreliable. Bus from Sliema to bugibba was easy and stopped right by harbour. Get there early to get a seat upstairs on deck. Buses home were more stressful as very full and not letting people on, so walk backwards to an earlier stop/bus station to be guaranteed a lift home!

Blue lagoon was amazing, so beautiful. We also opted to go to gozo, wasn't that impressive but don't think I'd have wanted to stay at blue lagoon for 4 hours as would have got bored, especially as it was mid October and not that hot. So if you want to explore/grab some lunch then the gozo add on was useful, the 5 euro bus is good value as the island is quite big so getting around it yourself would be hard!

Fab experience. Was anxious booking this tour not through a reputed operator but this process was flawless. Just emailed the company who arranged a transfer from our hotel in st julians for 10 euros per person return. Fab activities included:swimming in blue lagoon, dropped off at gozo to see the citadel and inland caves. Took the bus tour up to the citadel and caves which was an extra 5 euros and then 4 euros to go on a small boat to the caves. Definitely worth experience if your someone that wants to explore but that gets lost easily like me as they drop you off very close to all the major sight seeing points and collect you at the same place.
Whole service was very proffesional. Felt very safe throughout the trip. Left personal items unattended whilst in blue lagoon and nothing was touched. Would highly recommend

This is a really well organized tour with a good price! Starting from bus pick-up with extra 5 EUR near my stayed hotel, the cruise showed us some view spots of Malta main island and Comino island. You can choose at Comino island a long stay ~3hr. or a short stay 1.5 hr + to visit Gozo island. I chose the short stay + to visit Gozo island. I enjoyed BLUE LAGOON at Comino island first and then explored Gozo island by extra mini bus tour (5 EUR). Victoria citadel was great and Cave at Dwejra was good. In total, I could spent the time very efficiently with no waiting time and appropriate transportation time. I really recommend this tour to everyone.

    Great trip definitely recommend it!

We did the option where we went to Comino (blue lagoon) and Gozo for a few hours. When in Gozo we got a taxi from the port straight to Victoria for lunch, around €9-€10. Download the Bolt app, just like Uber and seems to be what is used. Drivers are usually 2-3 mins away.

The blue lagoon on Comino is a great spot, the boat had the option to buy a decent snorkel for €9 due to covid, bargain and definitely recommend it. Plenty of fish to see and the water is crystal clear.

The boat itself is great, family operated and they were very nice and helpful. The tour guide is decent too and points out plenty of things. There’s lots of space and shade downstairs and sun loungers upstairs. The boat wasn’t filled due to COVID so easy to keep safe enough distance if that’s a concern.

    Definitely do it!

    Sah-ha!

Really cannot fault this trip. We paid the extra €5 for the bus around gozo which would definitely recommend as it just makes it easier to get around and to the capital for a few hours. There is also the option once on the boat to do a speedboat tour around the caves which is a MUST DO. Our driver Ian knew a lot about the area and made the trip very fun.
A side note we were staying in saint julians and hornblower organised an easy pick up from our hotel and return mini bus which was very reasonably priced.
The boat wasn’t too busy and the staff were very helpful. Really would recommend this trip.

After some bad experiences in other countries, we were reluctant to book the trip at first but after seeing some other reviews we decided to try and we were pleasantly surprised.

The trip started punctually at 10 am and ended at 5 pm (7 hours as on their homepage written). On our way to the blue lagoon on Comino Island we passed some water caves and the island of St. Pawls. On Comino we had 1.5 hours to explore the island on our own. After the ship brought us to Gozo, where we took the bus to Victoria. After 3 hours of sightseeing, we returned to the harbor and got back to Bugibba.

As our trip was in April the wind was still cold so we recommend to take a jacket and maybe a scarf with you. Bathing was technically possible, but the sea was still cold and it had a lot of jellyfishes due to the storm the day before. Personally, we would recommend to book the trip directly through their homepage to avoid any rip offs.

The staff was very kind during the whole trip, captain and his crew was experienced, everything was organised well, the food sold on board was priced reasonably and the ship and toilets were clean. We definitely would recommend it to other Malta visitors to see more of Maltas beauty.

Our best day in Malta! Very friendly staff and cruise members. Whilst aboard, you were offered a speedboat trip through the caves at the blue lagoon, unfortunately we could not take this incredible opportunity as we didn’t have 10 euros cash on us at the time, but would definitely be taking advantage of that next time!

The crew did a great job at signposting inter testing landmarks on the way.

We had the chance to try the on board hot food - ordering cheeseburgers and chips, this was delicious and made to a very good standard.

On arrival to blue lagoon, the views and colours of the water are simply spectacular, this is a must see if you are planning on visiting Malta- I have never seen water like it! Make sure to bring lots of drinking water and sunscreen.

Thank you for the amazing trip hornblower !
