Matthew is an expert, he can talk for hours about Malta, not only about history but politics and economy as well. He showed us around and took the time to explain, to answer questions, we walked at a quiet pace. What I really appreciated, is that we were only 2 persons and that the tour took place. Matthew told me that in normal circumstances, the group would never have been very large : 10-15 persons maximum. And that is exactly why the tours are so interesting. As I said, Matthew really took the time and we walked for more than 3 hours, didn't see the time passing by. The approach was personalized, almost tailor-made and we really enjoyed it. Furthermore, I received a voucher for a free tour which I was unfortunately not able to attend as I was leaving Malta. Thanks a lot to Matthew & Colour My Travel !

Matthew proved to be an outstanding guide. He paced everything well, was a mine of information, but, more importantly, was able to add plenty of anecdotal , colourful notes to the basic historical facts. His knowledge of broader European history was impressive, and he leavened his talk with a nice splash of humour, too.

We are two couples, best friends and we booked a half day tour for 2nd May. Our tour guide was Ben and I have to say that we had the best time. Ben made the whole tour so interesting and we had asked for particular focus on the Knights of St John. We were blessed with a glorious day so the three hours flew by. It was at a perfect pace and there was conversation through out. If anyone is wondering if it’s worth paying that but extra for a private tour, it absolutely is. We hit the jackpot getting Ben as our guide, he was so knowledgeable and such a nice guy. Valletta is a beautiful city and we have had the best time and today was the icing on the cake. Thanks Ben fir a great day.

Great tour. The guide - a history teacher - was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable with lots of stories and gossip added to spice up the historical facts. His love of Valletta shone through. Highly recommended.

We decided to take a private walking tour and I'm very happy that we took that decision.
Ben is an excellent guide. We learnt such a lot about Valletta, its people and its history. There wasn't a question Ben couldn't answer, he's so informative and so charming.. A delightful way to see the city....I would definitely recommend..

Brilliant. Matthew was our guide and he was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Valletta. He was able to answer all our questions and was friendly to us all. He was considerate about the sunny weather and tried his best to keep us in the shade as much as possible. Really lovely tour. Felt like we really got a brilliant feel for the rich history of Valletta. Would definitely reccommend it!

We had a fantastic informative tour from Jennifer. Being a History teacher she knew all the dates and conveyed them in an easy to follow manner. She made sure that we were comfortable and that we understood her explainations. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS 3 HOUR TREASURE!

This tour was 100€ for the 2 of us for 3 hours and I felt it represented very good value for money. As the tour was private we were able to customise it to our own interests, however, I believe Colour Me Travel does group and free tours of a good standard.
Our guide was Gabriel and was a military historian who in addition had a degree in art history, which made him ideally qualified to show us our points of interest. He explained the history of the knights of St. John, the battles they fought and the development of the city defences right up the the Second World War.
We also requested a visit to the co cathedral and he explained the art work including the breathtakingly beautiful Caravaggios, Gabriel is clearly passionate about art, and this really brought the works to light for me.
My favourite part however was when he took us round the palace Armoury and explained all of the medieval weapons, real game of thrones stuff and not for the faint hearted! In addition to his knowledge of art history and military history our guide is also an experienced fencer, so I would recommend requesting him if you have an interest in weapons.
Overall it was a fantastic morning and well worth it, I would recommend this company to everyone interested in history and culture.

The tour duration is 2 hours and you have to meet the guide at a pre-arranged point - usually the new city gate adjacent to the new Parliament building. This is close (less than 5 minutes walk) from where taxis drop off people visiting Valetta.

Hi,
I would love a private walking tour for me and my family on Saturday afternoon. Is it possible to start the tour at approximately 14.00?
Best Regards
