      Recommend the 4 hour trip
Had a lovely trip with stops at Culetra and Armona. Our guide João was excellent and knew everything about the area. Great lunch of Dorada in Culetra. Ours was the four hour trip with stop in Culetra of 90 mins.

Lovely way to spend a few hours!
We booked the 4hr boat trip from Cabanas de Tavira starting at 11am (Octopus Route). The skipper, Phillip, was excellent, really informative, genuinely interesting with a great sense of humour! He gave us lots of interesting facts along the way.... some delivered with a cheeky hint of sarcasm 😆 We had a nice stop in Santa Luzia before moving on to the island and he got us as close to the flamingos as possible before returning to Cabanas. Thanks Phillip for a lovely trip!

      Lovely sailing trip!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. We sailed to the lovely island of Armona, where there are no vehicles and had a leisurely, delicious lunch. Highly recommend!

      Seeing seahorses from Fuseta.
A lovely trip out to look for seahorses in the Ria Formosa. Bruno was excellent as the marine biologist / boat captain / guide, explaing the various sights along the route. When we arrived, before we got into the water, he pointed out a seahorse in the water and how to spot them in the clear waters of the Ria. There was plenty of time to snorkel or just swim, to explore the waters around the boat. Some guests were luckier than others in spotting seahorses, however there were other fascinating marine creatures, such as octopus, sea cucumber and different fish. A lovely day out, all our group enjoyed it thoroughly and are looking forward to doing it again next year.

      An Enjoyable Experience
It was an amazing experience. The crew was very knowledgeable about the area, pointing out a mixture of history of the area and other areas as well and the beautiful beaches. Lunch in Santa Luzia at the Octopus Restaurant was delicious. The whole experience was amazing and the service was premier. I highly recommend Passeios Ria Formosa boat tours.

1Day Tour Ria Formosa_in the memory forever!!! 🥰
The 1Day tour has been as planned. Very comprehensive of the major islands and not turistic at all. We are a family of 4 people and totally by chance we had the boat only for us. Luca has been very informative and discrete, giving guidance and directions and leaving time to stay the 4 of us. The parts of the islands we visited were almost desert, far from the touristic traffic and always safe. 5 stars tour since Luca was excellent as driver and guide, boarding and off-boarding was quick and easy and on time. Sea was calm and with 1 day we could appreciate the tides high in the morning, 10am low in the afternoon, 5.30pm.

Not worth it, better book a (water)taxi
We booked this tour to learn more about the local history, octopus culture and wildlife, as advertised on the website and brochure. Unfortunately our guide did not talk to the group at all. He did not explain what we were seeing or where we were. He just dropped us off at Santa Luzia where he informed us we had 1,5hrs to find lunch and afterwards to the beach (he didn’t mention which beach it was) where he said again we had to be back in 30 minutes. Other than that no talking or explaining anything. For 35 euro per person we could have just booked a water transport. Since we felt ripped off we went to the booth of the organizer in Cabanas, but the girl just said she was sorry our expectations were not met and that it was our right to mention this in our review. Although we visit the region quite often, we will definitely not book other tours with Passeios Rio Formosa.

      Ria Formosa tour
The tour was well organized and efficient. However we couldn't hear the commentary from the speakers due to the sound quality, that it was an AI translation and the sound of the engine. So we didn't learn anything about the area and could have done the same trip using the ferries. Although admittedly there were queues for the ferries that we managed to avoid!

      Uninterested Fishing Trip Organisers.
Booked a fishing trip with my son, as we had a great experience with another company the previous year in the Algarve. Staff helpful and friendly and were on hand for snagged lines etc. Very disappointed that we stayed in one spot and didnt try different location, when it was clear we were not catching any fish, except two small ones between 10 people. Just felt the organisers were not interested in trying to catch. Shame, as my son was extremely disappointed and couldnt understand why we didnt try to find fish, like we had experienced the previous year.

      Pleasant trip
An interesting trip through the estuary. It was a long stop for lunch and would have preferred more time on the boat seeing the scenery. The skipper explained things as we passed them in good English and other languages for other passengers. Unless you want a hearty lunch Santa Lucia is not very interesting, but the octopus trail signs are very interesting. Pity we did not have any time to stop for a swim. The stop at terra Estrelia was very brief and gave just enough time to walk from the jetty to the beach, say " yes very beautiful" and walk back. On the boat we saw salt production, which the skipper explained in detail and lots of flamingos.

Octopus route - To little time to swim, to much time for lunch.
We did the Octopus Route and that was a bit of a disappointment. Basically is was a trip from Cabanas via Tavira harbour (to pick people up) to St Lucia (to have a 1,5 hour lunch) and back via a very nice beach (but for 30m of which 20m walk) to Cabanas. Total tour took a bit over 3 hours. Guidance from the guide was good by the way. Saw flamingos from a distance, the saltpans, oyster farms. Did the tour with 10 and 12 year old kids. To little time to swim, to much time for lunch.

      Magical
A wonderful trip. We'd been out for around an hour when we spotted our first Dolphin and before we knew it the boat was surrounded. They were playing, swimming, and jumping in and out of the water. It was completely magical. I got some wonderful videos and photos and met some lovely, like minded people. Value for money was fantastic. If you book you won't be disappointed.

Great tour with an excellent captain (Rafael) and an even excellent guide (Michael), Rio Formosa from the water gives a whole different view, and tons of info on the Rio formosa (clams, crabs, oyster banks,...tides) .
One tip, time your boat trip with low tide (you can look this up) then you can see the oysterbanks and even taste one if you like, also you will see the locals hervestiging clams and other seafood.

We did the 2 hour south east tour with a stop on ilha da Armona. Bruno our skipper for the trip was superb, giving us information about the wildlife as we made our way to Armona. He pointed out many things along the way and was happy to answer anything we asked. The weather for our trip was poor with rain for most of it, but Bruno kept us entertained with his knowledge of the area to the point that we didn't care about the rain. The stop on Armona was very pleasant and gave us time for a quick coffee, which would have been a beer on a sunny day, and a brief look around. All in all an enjoyable experience thanks to Bruno.

An amazing experience in Ria Formosa. Our host, Mr. João, was amazing. Very thoughtful and joking all the time. He was also very knowledgeable, he explain us in detail the names and stories of the Ria. The boat stopped twice, one in Culatra for lunch and other in Armona for a small tour/dive. A very enjoyable day.

Two hours "tour" and only two short comments from our guide, that we could barely hear because he didn't have a microphone. He basically took us to Armona Island, told us we could walk around then took us back to Fuseta. We were supposed to have a guided tour, but that was not what we got. If I knew, I would have bought ferry tickets instead, that would have been much cheaper.

Very expensive for the few services provided. No infrastructure, water entered the boat and we were soaked by the big waves hitting the boat. We were not able to take advantage of the excursion because the weather was not good. Our guide did not speak French even though we paid for it. Very disappointed and we didn't see any dolphins, which is what we paid for. I strongly advise against it, very expensive for the service offered

Good boat, with a maximum of 20 people on it. A helmsman and a guide/sailor Jaouo, who did not explain too long and liked a joke. Beautiful trip, lasted from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a half-hour stop at Ilha da Culatra, where we ate delicious fish, later a half-hour stop at Praya da Armona.

    Good morning
    Gorgeous !!! No other words
4 hours outing, stop on 2 islands.
One of the islands is a fishing village and so we had 1h30 for lunch. Hummmmm madness. The oysters were just coming out of the beds.
The guide, a love, kind, smiling, polite, funny: thank you again Jõao
And in an apartment 🤫: excellent value for money.
    To do absolutely

It was a very beautiful walk to be able to rest and be in contact with nature. By the time we were able to see only the sea horses in the deepest zone, but we were able to see still a good amount.
    I highly recommend :)
