We had discovered a few years ago during our travels, that food tours are excellent way to learn about a new city and a new culture, but not all cities have food tours. And not all food tours actually have a lot of food. When planning a weekend trip to Innsbruck, Austria from Stuttgart, I really didn’t expect to find a food tour in my searches. But to my surprise I stumbled across Innsbruck Food Tours which takes you on a culinary journey of Tyrolean cuisine. Kurt, our guide and business owner, provided a very informative and plentiful food tour through multiple local establishments throughout Innsbruck’s old town. Luckily we elected not to pay for breakfast at our hotel the day of the tour because there was a lot of food to try! You will not be hungry! And unlike all other food tours that I’ve been on Kurt is very respectful in regards to food and waste. He encourages you to enjoy every last bit that has been laid out for tasting so that nothing goes to waste ...while still saving room for the next stops, of course. During the lunch, the largest of the tastings, we were even provided with a To Go Box which by the end of the tour was packed to the brim. I had a full meal for my train ride back to Stuttgart the following afternoon. We’ve never actually walked away from a food tour with leftovers before... So that was great! It is clear that Kurt is very passionate about the Tyrolean cuisine and culture and loves giving these tours. I would highly recommend the Half Day Food Tour if you like to eat, drink, walk, and explore a new city!

Having been on a few food tours this topped the lot-Kurt was informed, passionate and truly authentic. It is clear that he has a wealth of knowledge and so many stories and liaisons locally to call on. We look back on this as being our personal highlight of our 4 day trip to Innsbruck. Thank you

Kurt is knowledgeable and passionate about all things in the Tyrol region - particularly food. This tour is great for anyone looking to explore the city from a local perspective while trying the local delicatessens. It was myself, husband and 3 year old son and we all had a lovely time. We left with a new friend, a bag of left overs, and souvenirs that we will cherish. Don’t miss this one!

After 4 hours with Kurt we just could not eat anything more for the rest of the day. At the last stop we got a doggybag for the lovely plate of cheese and more. Kurt just keeps telling nice stories about food, his family, the city and all the great lokals that make tasty products. Kurt is very good in the communication before you meet and after, he gives the customer a unique experience. Although the cost for this tour are not small, we are happy to spend it on Kurt and his tour. We wish him (and his home team at the farm) all the best with the lovely foodtour!

Kurt showed us such an amazing time in Innsbruck, a beautiful city he knows well and is passionate about. The food was delicious and Kurt was an outstanding guide, knowlegeable about Tyrolean cuisine and culture, and just a warm, funny personality. There was so much food -- definitely come hungry! And he was wonderful with my young daughters too. A wonderful experience all around!

Kurt is an exceptional tour guide. His tour is full of delicious Tyrolean specialities to eat and drink, and he has made sure to include interesting and engaging information at every stop. We were a group of four friends, and we all said this was one of our favorite tours ever. It was definitely the highlight of our time in Innsbruck. Book this if you want to learn about the food culture of Innsbruck and the surrounding towns, and be sure you come hungry!

Kurt gave us a really interesting and tasty food tour - from turnip schnapps to traditional apples and bakeries, to lush coffee and hot chocolates, everything we ate was gorgeous. All accompanied by Kurt's good humour and interesting tales. It was a lovely start to our time in Innsbruck, thank you very much!

Kurt was an excellent guide with a passion for food and the region off Tyrol. We learned a lot and ate even more! The tour did not feel rushed and we left FULL and a little more knowledgeable about Innsbruck, Tyrol and the local food delicacies. Can highly recommend taking this tour on your visit to Innsbruck!

Kurt is an incredible tour guide with a palpable love for his city, people and culture. This tour really made our stay in Innsbruck so much more enjoyable, since we took what we learned with us to find other places to enjoy afterward. I could not recommend this experience more highly.

Better than we even imagined! On a food tour you hope to experience wonderful local businesses and Kurt introduced us to quite a few. We learned all about and sampled great local cuisines and had leftovers to bring home. Kurt had terrific connections to the business owners at each place we stopped. From bread to bacon, coffee to wine and everything in between. We left full, happy and hit our steps goal. It gave us a much better understanding for where to spend our time for our remaining days.
