- M1536LOjuanv0 contributionsTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THE GUIDE IS RACIST AND XENOPHOBICDO NOT GO ON THIS WALKING TOUR. The guide (I think his name is Herbert) started the tour with a racist xenophobic comment against me and my family in front of my 3 year old daughter. When I asked to cancel the tour and said that I wanted my money back he said he would not give back the money. Absolute and complete disaster.Written 16 July 2023
- Katrina L0 contributionsWell worth the moneyStraightfoward guide with good English and a sweet spot for dark humor. The talk was mostly about history, but explained easily enough to follow.Written 13 July 2023

- Pahiyom0 contributionsInformatively EntertainingThe tour was hearty and fun. We’ve been showed around some most important nook of Vienna. History was never missed and a plus of tips and hints which help you plan the rest of your stay in Vienna. Mirko is both a historian and an entertainer, you will be acquainted with the past and at same time amused with his antics and singing. Thanks a lot Mirko, way to go!!!Written 13 October 2022

We truly enjoyed our 2-1/2 hour walking tour today with Herbert and his dry sense of humor. We had already been in Vienna for 3 days and he showed us spots we had walked by many times and missed! I really liked the historical photos and maps he showed us on his tablet.

We met our guide Herbert in St. Stephen’s Square and from the first few moments we began to learn about the history of Vienna. He had many images that were really helpful in imagining how old Vienna looked. I won’t tell you about what we saw as that will ruin the tour. We did learn about several things that we had walked by several times and had no idea of the significance. We learned about history, traditional foods, Mozart and WWII. We had lots of questions and all were answered along the way. We also stopped for a minute to say hi to the President of Austria as he passed by. I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the less touristy spots in central Vienna.

Really excellent tour. Guide is really knowledgeable. Pointed out stuff that we would have walked past without noticing. Avoided the crowded parts. Walk is suitable for most ages, but less interesting for younger children, not too many steps and not too long a walk. What we really appreciated was that although only two of us were on the tour, it didn't get cancelled.

Dear Guests,
Thank you for your review!
For the tour you booked my philosophy is to show my guests locations regular tourists will never find.
I feel unfair that tours get cancelled because of low bookings. Its not the clients fault!
Best regards
Herbert

Fredianio took myself & my cousin all around ‘back street Vienna’. He had a lot of knowledge of architectural styles and era’s. We got on famously as we had a shared interest. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience

Hello! We have scheduled the morning tour with Herbert and we’re hoping to do this afternoon tour as well. However, we are a group of four and it seems as though there is not availability for four people. I was wondering if there is any flexibility with that. We would love to book this tour as well.

On the tour company's website it says that the English version of this tour (Vienna Secrets Walking Tour to Backyards and Mysterious Locations) runs on Thursdays and Saturdays at noon, while the German version runs on Fridays and Sundays. Here on TripAdvisor (and Viator), however, when I "check availability" for the English tour, it shows me Fridays and Sundays. The date that works best for me is actually a Sunday (March 17, 2019), and it gives me the option to book that date here on TripAdvisor, but I don't want to do so if it will actually be a German tour. Thanks for your help with this!
Written 24 December 2018
From the website it looks like you don't need to pre-book the English version of this tour, but if that is the case, how can it be guaranteed to be a small group tour? Is there anyway of booking for Sat 1st Dec?
Written 18 November 2018
Unfortunately, there’re no English tours available on Dec 1st!
But there’s an English tour available in Friday and Sunday morning at 9:30 am. "Introducing Vienna -the Capital of the Habsburgs"
I apologize for inconvenience!
Thanks
Herbert, Viennatour
