      Wonderful aurora viewing experience.
Had an amazing time. Harry was excellent and very knowledgeable and made the tour quite enjoyable. He picked out a quite beautiful spot for us to view them from and took some amazing pictures under the auroras. Quite pleased overall and would recommend.

      Incredible
We can’t begin to thank Northern Horizon enough for the most incredible night but the biggest thank you goes to our driver Wojtek and guide Bert, who’s passion and knowledge allowed us to experience the artic and auroras in the most spectacular way. The odds were against us with the weather but the drive to Finland was all worth it as whilst we toasted sausages around a fire on the border between Finland and Sweden, the auroras did their thing!, As mentioned before, none of that would have been possible in such cloudy conditions if it wasn’t for the knowledge of our guide, who truly truly knows his stuff!. I would strongly recommend this tour above all others as the effort and care taken to make sure our night was as amazing possible was next to none!,

      Go With The Best!
Northern Horizon were excellent! Despite Tromso being a hotspot for the Aurora there are no guarantees given the challenges with the weather etc. Our guide Harry was incredible, he really knew his stuff and was super passionate. Given his years of experience, science background and all the technology at his fingertips he made a very educated guess to take us over the border to Finland. After scoping out a spot we waited and sure enough the lights appeared! Once the show had finished it was past midnight so we headed back to Tromso all the while Harry continued to look for the Aurora, the next minute the bus halted he told everyone to get out in a hurry and boom - it was amazing, dancing lights, so bright!! These guys really know their stuff. Very highly recommend. and btw great dinner around the campfire

      Amazing tour 😊
It was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Everything was well-organized and clearly explained, leaving us feeling completely at ease throughout the tour. Both our guide and driver were not only extremely helpful but also friendly and approachable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. While they couldn’t control the Aurora, our guide orchestrated the entire tour so seamlessly that it felt like every moment was perfectly planned. Their professionalism and passion for what they do truly stood out. We learned so much about the sky, the stars, Northern culture, and the Aurora itself. The amount of knowledge they shared was incredible, and there wasn’t a single question left unanswered. On top of all that, we received stunning photos that captured the magic of the night—a memory we’ll treasure forever. It was an unforgettable journey, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience.

Knowledgeable tour guides and driver provided a great experience
The tour guides were passionate and knowledgeable about the area. They took us to a spot where they expected lights. When the clouds did not lift after an hour or so, they took us to a different area, where we were able to see the lights. The bus was comfortable, and having a toilet on board was why I booked this particular tour. The pictures taken by the guide and later sold online were not that great. They had too much distracting background and not enough focus on our faces. We returned at around 1 am, and it was a great experience.

      Absolutely Amazing Experience!
We had an absolutely amazing and breathtaking experience!! We started with a rather cloudy evening in Tromso, but our guide Bert and his partner Kamil were extremely knowledgeable about the area and weather patterns, and got us to a spot were we saw the most unbelievable Northern Lights display. Along the way they set up a great campfire where we got to learn about and experience some of the local Norwegian culture. We were most impressed with Bert's enthusiasm and his desire to get us to the best place to see the lights. He also spent a lot of time fully capturing the evening on his camera so we could just focus on just taking it all in. We would absolutely recommend Northern Horizon to anyone and we would 100% go with them again!

      10 Stars for the Effort
It’s only a 4 star rating because the weather and solar winds did not cooperate with this excellent team. Max is an enthusiastic and informative guide and Sebastian drove on those frozen roads like a champ. We drove all the way into Finland looking for clear skies away from the snow storm. Max did a good job team-building and keeping our spirits up when there was nothing to be seen except snow. Then Max found a break in the storm on the way back and we got a chance to see a small display of Northern Lights. Max is an excellent photographer too and captured the moment for us on his camera. I would trust this team to give 110% again in the future, but be prepared for a potentially very long trip and maybe not the light show you were hoping for.

      Once in a lifetime experience
We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Max. He found the perfect spot where we had the place all to ourselves. The aurora lights we saw were amazing and our guide also made a lot of great portraits of us as well as landscape photos. We can 1000 percent recommend the tour with northern horizon! It was better than we could imagine it beforehand! Thank you Max for this incredible tour and this lasting memories!!!

Book it! You won’t regret it!
Our minibus arrived promptly, it was clean and comfortable and the guide Harry and driver Dominic were fantastic. They were our scientists, explaining everything about the aurora phenomenon, our historians, our guides, our entertainers, our cooks and experts photographers! We left Tromsø with overcast skies and not promising weather but Harry took us expertly to a spot almost 2 hours away to guarantee we would optimize our chances of seeing the northern lights. We were alone all night. No large uses or other groups and we had an amazing experience! If you are doubting booking this, please don’t. If there are auroras in the sky, Harry will find them for you. Excellent! Thank you!!!

      Fabulous experience!
Harry quickly realized the skies were clear and took us to a viewing area about 35 minutes from our departure site. The results were magnificent as we saw the Aurora! He also took incredible pictures that we will always keep as a memory of our amazing time in Tromsø. Afterwards, we went to a further location and had a bonfire, food, drinks and experienced more Aurora. Sebastian, our driver, was masterful in getting us back safely in snowy, blustery conditions. Thank you Harry and Sebastian!

The second best new years eve of my life.
Harry was outstanding. Friendly knowledgeable and passionate , Always keeping an eye on everybody to make sure we had the best experience and wanted for nothing. Dominic drove us south from Tromso for about 90 minutes and although it is unusual for us to be doing 60 mph on ice roads we never once felt unsafe. He also doubled as a generally helpful and friendly partner to Harry. The minus 19degree temperature we experienced was positively balmy for him as he comes from Krakow and it’s not really chilly until it’s into the late minus 20’s there. In addition we were fortunate enough to see an extraordinary light show which went on for hours. Harry is an Astral Photographer, so his photos are great and he gave us a fireside lecture on the science behind the Aurora. All in all an experience of a lifetime. Our bucket list just got a little smaller. Thank you both for the best New Year’s Eve of my life. (Apart from the one in 1977, but we won’t go in to that)

A wonderful turnaround, what an enjoyable night!
Initially we didn’t expect much as Tromsø was pouring and one of my luggage full of my warm clothing was somehow in Zürich Airport. However it changed when we were in the tour with Harry and Sebastian. They managed to find a location just crossing the border of Finland with a clear sky full of starred view then we started to get our hopes up. They also provide thermal suits and boots, we didn’t use their boots but the thermal suits helped enormously. We manage to see so many Aurora activities near the lake and setting up a campfire nearby. They also serve hot food, drink and snacks, we love every moment of them. On the way back Harry found more Aurora activities near the highway, we stopped by and viewed one of most memorable spiral aurora of the night. Later on that early morning, we received all the photo on the tour by email, those images were professionally captured by Harry, this tour was worth every penny. We highly recommend it.

Above and beyond Northern Light experience!
This tour experience was “above and beyond” especially with such an experience tour lead (Simon). Thanks to Simon who is so experienced in navigating from bad weather in Tromso to a clear sky out-skirt of town to get us to the Northern Lights. He is amazing !!!

Anthony and Andrzej hosted us for the day. They were warm, welcoming hosts with a passion for what they do that was very apparent. We spent a day chasing down the sun and best spots for photos and the view throughout the day and the team was brilliant. With lots of information along the way about Tromso and the coastline, Norwegian culture and the nature, paired with stunning views and a very professional team who go out of their way to make your trip the best it can be, I highly recommend this day trip. Thank you Anthony and Andrzej!

I joined the tour with my brother who was visiting me in Tromsø, thinking it would be a fun break and great way to see Kvaløy, since you can't go wrong with the spectacular nature outside the city. The tour was all that, and much more. Max was a great guide. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and inclusive of everyone, and really struck the right balance between giving us all time to take in the experiences on our own at each stop, taking professional photos that he sent to us later that day, and keeping us interested with entertaining and informative stories about the local history. The mini-van is equipped with a rack of polar suits for unpredictable weather--I won't give away any more, just will say I'd definitely like to do this tour again.

This was a brilliant well paced trip to the North part of Kavløya island west of Tromsø only 25 mins away. Panoramic views of fjords, plenty of time for photos, helpful guide sharing local insights who doubled up as a professional photographer to share photos through Dropbox. Weather is not guaranteed but on the right day it is dream like. We had all seasons but still had lunch on Tromvik beach spotting reindeer and a glacier. It was a good way to wrap up the holiday. We all had such fun and it makes your world bigger as you discover hidden gems so near Tromsø. Give it ago. It is well worth it.

This is a convenient and fun way to get out and see the beautiful surrounding areas of Tromsø, Norway. Our guide drove us to different viewing points over the course of 5 hours, stopping about half way through for some snacks and drinks on the beach. He even went out of his way to track down a reindeer we had seen wander off the main road so we could get some pics.

Every detail of this trip was a unique learning experience! We were even introduced to some Sami music during our drive!

Could not recommend this experience enough if you want to get out of the city for a few hours and learn about what else Norway has to offer!

This tour was the perfect way to start our time in Tromso. Our guide Michael was very friendly and knowledgeable; he had a very good understanding of the region and was more than happy to answer any questions we had. He was so familiar with the area that he was able to improvise the tour plan to ensure that we visited the best sites considering the conditions at that time; this was probably best exemplified when he spotted some reindeer in a distance and made a stop so we could see them. The sites we visited were just stunning, and I probably would not have visited them without the tour. My only problem with this tour was the meal we received. We had some traditional Norwegian pastries, instead of sandwiches as said on the booking site. While the pastries were definitely tasty, they were not enough for a filling lunch. However, this was just a minor issue and should not take away from the overall experience!

Joanna was a wonderful tour guide who was so knowledgable and a pleasure to listen to. We only had 8 people in our group which was fantastic. The places we visited were beautiful and an absolute must whilst visiting Tromso. The tour was extremely well organised and the photos that Joanna took were fantastic. If you want the photos in high resolution then you are encouraged to pay for them but the free downloads are still good quality. Would definitely recommend this tour and if you get Joanna then you’re guaranteed a brilliant day!

A brilliant tour conducted by Nicola. I felt this excursion showed me the real Artic Norway. Nicola is a great photographer and knew the area around Tromso like the back of his hand - he knew all the best places to go and we visited 5 different fiords and had lunch and hot chocolate on a snow covered beach!
We only saw seals today however the grandeur of the scenery more than made up for it. Nicola is very passionate about what he shows you and ran overtime by 45 mins because he wanted us to have the best experience.
Thanks for a great day Nicola

Our tour guide was Rohith, he was very knowledgeable on the wildlife and the areas. He took us to see some amazing sights such at the Sommarøy bridge and Sommarøy beach where the turquoise waters make you feel like your on a tropical island. We saw a wild elk, a massive herd of Sami reindeer and some sea eagles. I was worried that driving around for 5 hours may be boring but it was not, you got out and walk around every 45 mins or so. Would definitely recommend the tour.
