- emh19120 contributionsNorthern Lights ChaseWe had a tour with Evgeni in October and had a seriously unforgettable experience. Evgeni was great at finding the best spots and keeping us informed. The photos are amazing. If you are visiting Tromso this is a tour you cannot miss!!Written 12 January 2025
- Excursion174304838620 contributionsAmazing experienceDespite the adverse weather forecast for aurora sightings, our guide Jonas managed to provide us with an amazing experience and the best possible northern lights viewing. His professional, motivated, engaging, and very friendly spirit, has guided us beyond expectations till we managed to get what we’ve been hoping to find. The atmosphere in the group was fun and enjoyable. Many many thanks. It’s always a real pleasure meeting people like you. Highly recommended.Written 12 January 2025
- hylkjeh20200 contributionsWild adventure in knee deep snow! A must do in Tromsø!So much fun!!! This was the perfect day - 40 cm fresh snow overnight so super heavy walking around which made it a real test for all of us! We were lucky enough to see two moose and a reindeer walking through the deep snow, which was magical. Our guides Gerard, Lucas and driver Marcin were super friendly and funny, and made me feel safe and taken care off. We even had a race trying to run through the snow, and we got to do some sledding! I recommend joining Wandering Owl on one of their adventure! Thanks a lot guys!Written 12 January 2025
- T3407DIelenas0 contributionsAwesome experienceA great experience! They are punctual, and during the trip, they explain about the land and the animals they encounter. The journey itself is wonderful! The guides, especially Lucas, Gerard, and Marcin, were very friendly, and you can tell they have a lot of experience. I’d also like to thank the girl in the office, Hylkje, for her great service. I would definitely recommend it!Written 12 January 2025
- 980whitneyb0 contributionsSimply AmazingBy far this exceeded all expectations for a night searching for the lights. The experience was one of a kind and our guides Tomas, Iliyan, and Samuele went above and beyond to make it a very special night. Besides their knowledge of the science the team was also wonderfully kind and interested in everyone on the tour, giving each of us individual help and attention. Our bus did get stuck but that only added to the experience. It also doesn’t hurt that we had an amazing show of the Northern Lights that feels unmatched with anything else I’ve seen. Truly one of the best nights with amazing people! Thank you Tomas, Iliyan, and Samuele!Written 12 January 2025
- INLUXWETRUST0 contributionsOnce in a lifetimeWe participated in a the Adults only aurora hunt tour yesterday to see the Northern Lights, and it must be said that it was only thanks to Lucas and our driver Illiyan that this experience was possible. The weather conditions were absolutely terrible, with a snowstorm that made visibility and the chances of seeing the Northern Lights extremely low, almost nonexistent. Despite this, they did everything they could to maximize our chances. Thanks to the them, we crossed the Norwegian border into Finland, where we finally managed to see the auroras. Lucas was incredibly knowledgeable, very friendly, and created a great atmosphere among all the participants. Illiyan was highly professional and serious. Despite the snowstorm, he drove with exceptional skill, and we always felt completely safe. Lucas is also a professional photographer, so there is no need to bring your own camera — he will take care of everything and provide you with photos of the experience. This is an incredible experience to do once in a lifetime, but it’s important to know that for this type of tour, you may spend many hours in the car depending on the weather conditions (we spent about 8 hours driving). Additionally, it’s important to keep in mind that what you see with the naked eye does not match the often-enhanced photos: the auroras are visible, but their intensity and colors are quite different. The only thing I didn’t quite understand was why there were 10/11 participants in the tour, when the website mentions a group size of 4-8 people. However, this didn’t change anything at all, especially because everyone was very friendly and the group atmosphere was great. In conclusion, a big thank you to Lucas and Illiyan for their expertise, passion, and dedication.Written 11 January 2025

- Adventure2072480 contributionsYou HAVE to do this tour, and request Tomas, Samuel and Ila!What an amazing time with both guides and guests! The night was just a spectacular sight of lights and the stories shared by the group of the adventurers both past and future. This was my first night in Tromso, and Thomas and the rest of the crew set the bar extremely high! Don’t just consider this tour. It is a must do! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience! All the best, JenWritten 10 January 2025
- Marvellka0 contributionsBestAs i promised…Wandering owl will always be my first choice. I had trip with them 3 times, because i wanted to see aurora. About my first time i wrote few days ago. My second time was guide Anna and third time Erica. Both of them were absolutly famous! Kind and funny! Our driver was always Adam, i felt really safe and he was still looking for aurora. And what about soup, cookies and tea? I want more! 😂❤️ Thank you guys!Written 9 January 2025
- pudjnr0 contributionsYou need to get out of town to see the lights with the naked eye.Overall tour was well organized, clothing and boots provided. We managed to see some Northern lights, but the photos show them much more clearly than you see with the naked eye. It is clear now why you need to get out of town to actually see the lights with the naked eye. A more modern phone also takes much better pictures than older models.Written 8 January 2025
- eloisek9020 contributionsAmazing experience: MUST DOWe had an amazing adventure with Evgeni and Gerard. This was an extra tour we booked for while we were in Tromso and it was honestly one of the best things we did. It was fun, invigorating, and the most beautiful location. Evgeni took my group and we well looked after and he made sure we all had a great time! It was the most beautiful location. And I feel very lucky to have seen it! This is the second tour we booked with Wandering Owl. They are awesome!Written 8 January 2025
- D528FZkirstenh0 contributionsGreat experience, very worthwhile. Highly recommend.Very well organised. Great safe driver and guide (Michael and Tomas), both helpful and knowledgeable. Entertaining and worthwhile. While it was a long night for us (we didn’t see the better Aurora activity until after midnight), it was a great experience and didn’t feel that long. Highly recommend this tour and company. Best to book with them directly!Written 7 January 2025
- kasiasH3287UG0 contributionsAurora hunt with BartI had an amazing time and would higly recommend aurora hunt with Wandering Owl. Even though the weather conditions were not the best that night, everything else made up for it: the bonfire, the warm delicious soup and coffee, and most of all our guide's Bart presence, efforts, knowledge and stories. Not only did he thoroughly explained the science behind aurora but also shared interesting facts about Norway and local community. He made us all feel cozy, included and safe (great driver!). Wandering Owl cares about the environment- food is vegan and the campfire is lit in a metal bowl so as not to damage the ground. The company also supports Citizen Science activities. Summing up: great experience with remarkable guide.Written 7 January 2025
- texjnr0 contributionsUnforgettable experience!Wow. Just wow. New Year's Eve was a magical evening and I must confess to feeling rather emotional when I first encountered the lights. It certainly beats ANY fireworks display! After taking lots of pictures, we settled down around a campfire next to a fjord with a mountain behind us and were treated to soup, hot chocolate, coffee & cookies. All of this whilst the northern lights continued to dance their dance. Our guide, Shoja, was so knowledgeable and contagiously passionate about the lights. He was also super friendly and always checking that everyone was OK. He played a big part in making the experience so enjoyable & memorable. Of course, no cloud cover & high activity played a part. The experience will remain with me forever. It truly was breathtaking.Written 6 January 2025
