About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- R8037FVheatherf0 contributionsInformative tour to welcome and learn the history and sites of OsloWe had a wonderful tour of the city with Rita as an informative, enthusiastic, and engaging tour guide. Victor, the driver, navigated the tight corners with ease and made for a very relaxed and enjoyable ride. The views from Holmenkollen ski jump were amazing (go straight to the ski museum and ski jump tower elevator once inside for the most spectacular panoramic view!) and the walking tour through Vigelandspark was full of the stories of the sculptors life. Thanks, Rita and Victor, for a great overview of the area! Highly, highly recommended!Written 18 January 2025
- 876ingerb0 contributionsHighly recommendedExcellent buses. Our tour guide gave us a very interesting tour and information about Oslo. His English is excellent and very easy to understand. Ha has a very good knowledge about Norway, Oslo, and the sights we visited. His informations in the Vigeland sculpture park were amazing. The driver also contributed to the tour in an excellent way. I highly recommend this tour to both foreign and Norwegian visitors.Written 27 December 2024
- Luka T0 contributionsOkayFantastic experience! The Oslo Discovery Tour is a perfect way to explore the city’s highlights and learn about its rich history and culture. Knowledgeable guides, stunning sights, and a well-organized itinerary. Highly recommend!Written 26 November 2024

- Eimear990 contributionsOslo in a nutshell!Excellent overview of the city provided by our guide Rita. We were in the safe hands of Viktor our bus driver. The tour lasted 5 and a half hours. The only disappointment was the ski jump. There was a blanket of fog down and we could not see anything. I loved the sculpture park which we walked through. We also visited two museums. The Fram museum which holds the Fram ship used by Roald Amundsen was a big hit for me. We also visited a folk village which gave an excellent insight into life in the various parts of Norway. Highly recommend!Written 29 October 2024
- nicholasr7940 contributionsLoved Vigeland Sculpture ParkLoved the Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Norwegian Folk Museum. Did not have enough time at the Fram Museum to see it and get something to eat, so didn't see the Fram. The Holmenkollen Ski Jump was a boring, waste of time. Rita was a very knowledgable tour guide, but too bossy and angry about people wanting to go to the bathroom at the first stop. Bus was comfortable. Hotel or cruise port pick up would have been helpful. Pick up , bus stop was hard to find and a long hike from our hotel. Would've liked to have a Norwegian guide, but Rita was not.Written 30 September 2024
- Steve H0 contributionsA Great Overview of OsloWe found this your to be a great overview of the sites and history of Oslo. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable, and the tour packed a lot in for 5.5 hours. This would be a great way to start a visit to Oslo and find the things you would want to visit and dig into further. We recommend it highly.Written 30 September 2024
- 141cherylg0 contributionsGreat 5 hr trip of top sites. Highly recommend. This trip covers all the top spots to see in 5 hr on comfortable bus. Guide Rita was outstanding, so knowledgeable, and very easy to understand !!Written 16 September 2024
- I4182TGlaurieb0 contributionsGreat tourExcellent tour guide, we saw and learned so much about Oslo. It is a wonderful city with so much to offer. The bus was clean and well kept, very comfortable ride.Written 12 September 2024
- T8347MKsharonc0 contributionsHighly recommendedLast minute booking as our previous booking was cancelled on the morning of the tour. So glad -the tour guide was so informative, pointing out all the places as we passed through. She was helpful as was the driver. Also when we were walking through the park she was a good pace rather than racing ahead like some guides. I would highly recommend this operator.Written 27 August 2024
- jurism3700 contributionsComprehensive but relaxing too!Excellent tour guide and driver. Light rain at times, but they juggled indoor outdoor venues and made it work. As much information and fun as you can pack in 5.5 hours.Written 23 August 2024

- GrandTour400280704730 contributionsSuper one day tour of Oslo. The tour was very informational. We saw the main Oslo attractions in one day. The driver was very good and the guide gave us a lot of information. Sometimes I think she is history teacher, the way she told the stories. We got a lot wiser from the norwegen history. Thank you for the tour. To bad the Vikingmuseum was closed, it is open in 2027. Maybe one negative note, at 15.00 we got so much info from the guide it was enough for us. The day was good arranged and we would do it again.Written 31 July 2024
- T3465NOtimb0 contributionsFor a high light tour of Oslo, I don't know how it could be better accomplishedOutstanding, both in terms of the new electric bus, the driver and especially our guide Marta (SP?) on 7.24.2024. The places we visited were excellent, althought the time spent at especially the Fram & Open Air Museum was way to short. That comment is not a criticism. Either place one could spend at least a 1/2 day and more. Nevertheless, given the "10 pounds of tour in a 5 pound bag", and keeping on a schedule, the organization and time management was very clear to passengers and respected. Very well done and appreciated. We are looking for additional tours by HMK. No reflection on the tour, but for me a 75 year old man, the climb at the Open Air Museum was , can I say a "ball buster"? Because it was.Written 24 July 2024

Oslo is a big beautiful city with loads of things fascinating things to see. This tour gets you around to the top sights and along the way shows you the city as well. History and local lore are discussed as you drive along in the comfortable bus. The friendly and well informed guide speaks perfect English and is a great narrator of all you will see. There was a good amount of time at the various museums and parks so you could get a reasonable look at them. The final stop for the fiord boat trip was a delightful ending to a well planned day of touring. We felt the trip was well priced for the abundance of things you got to see and learn about.

The tour guide gave us wonderful facts and history about Oslo and Norway. He had a great sense of humor and had lots of trivia facts also. The detailed information on the tour of the Fram museum was amazing. The guided tour and explanations of the sculptures at Vigeland Park was priceless. The boat tour was adequate as it is self narrative as you have to have a phone to listen to the narration. Bring a lunch and water as very little time to buy anything at the stop. No time to shop for a trinket either. This is not a tour for mobility issues but you can stay on the bus and miss some of the sites.

An interesting day seeing sights of Oslo and nearby areas. Visited the Fram Museum recounting a polar expedition (where there are a couple cafes for lunch), a ski-jump area, walked the length of the Vigeland Park where the guide, Kris, gave a knowledgeable commentary on the sculptures and the history of the park, and a large outdoor museum of ancient Norwegian houses imported from various parts of Norway showing how people lived in the early to mid-second millennium.
The day ended with a cruise up the fjord.
The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was big and comfortable. I had fun and am glad i brought my good camera because the day was filled with opportunities for interesting photos. Only downside was that the Kon-Tiki Museum was closed, for renovations I think.
Be sure to visit the cold room at the Fram Museum which replicates the temperatures they had on the expedition. It was scary cold for a Californian like me.

Loved our Tour. We saw so many things, learned so much, and the timing of each activity was perfect. It was a great way to see Oslo and learn about its history in a fun and informative way. It's a long day with time to grab a quick sandwich/snack along the way. I especially loved learning about the sculpture garden - without the tour guide it would not have been nearly as interesting! The unhosted/unguided boat tour was a perfect way to end the day relaxing on the water with wonderful views. Such a good day!

Guide was terrific; held our interest, made us want to listen. Bus tour could be shorter to allow more time to visit boat museum. Cruise at end of day was very relaxing

Great experience just consider there are no stops at the National Museum or the Opera but you can go on your own since they are very close to where you take the tour.
I took the grand tour option and our guide Rita was amazing. We went to the ski museum, sculptures park, and an outdoor houses museum (my least favorite). The ski museum is far away so it’s great when you take this tour because taxis in Oslo are very expensive.
The tour ends with a 2 hour cruise and you can enjoy a view of the city from the water.

The tour was awesome - Chris was knowledgeable, a fantastic storyteller and very personable. The sculpture park was made even better by Chris’s insight, the museums that we visited were interactive and unusual, the ski slope was cool, and the boat ride was a nice way to top it off. We only had a 3 day trip and spending one day on this trip felt like a good investment of time and money.

Helena our guide was SO knowledgeable. It's an amazing tour that covers some really spectacular parts of Oslo that would be difficult to get to otherwise and on top of that a guide who knew exactly the best bits of each attraction and an entire in-depth knowledge of the cultural and historical context behind everything.
Ultimately, this package is amazing value for everything it provides from a city tour to multiple museums and a cruise on the Oslofjord.

This tour lasts a good total of six hours, but it’s one of the most fascinating six hours you would go through. I enjoyed touring the Folk Museum and the Vigeland Sculpture Park. The vast majority of the tour is done by a tour bus. I like how you can listen to the tour via headphones, while driving around to the points of destinations. You will get the chance to disembark the bus and do a walking tour on some sites. You will wrap up the tour by going on a fjord cruise around the Oslo harbor area. I had a good time, and I do recommend this tour to other visitors whom are interested in obtaining some rich information about Oslo and its sites that the tour takes you to.

We especially liked the areas outside the city center. We got off the bus at the ski jump, the sculpture garden, and Fram museum. Also loved the boat ride. Main problem was the bus’ sound system through the earphones. Our guide, Christopher, was very knowledgeable but soft spoken and even at maximum we had a hard time hearing him. Granted we are older with aides. When he just talked through the main sound system, no problem.
The bus tour through town was as expected, just ok with earphones but the highlight was the wonderful walk through the Sculpture garden with his very helpful guidance. We understand so much better what we were seeing. Would have enjoyed a couple view photo stops. The next day we had a very good idea as to how to continue enjoying this lovely city based upon this overview.

Thinking about thanking this tour. The Fjord Cruise, how wavy / bumpy is it? How would it be for someone the can get motion sickness?
Written 22 May 2023
Not particularly bumpy, but then I've never had a problem with motion sickness, so I may not be entirely reliable on this issue. Good luck!

My husband and I are interested in this tour, but we are arriving on the Holland America ship on October 4 at 7:00 a.m. and depart at 5:00 p.m. How far is Rådhusbrygge 3, Oslo, Norway, from where our ship docks? Thanks! - Lois Ann

There are two places where the cruise
ships dock in Oslo. One is very close the other is a little further away. When we went on this trip the coach actually stopped off at the docked cruise ships to pick up some passengers

How long do you get to spend in the Viking Ship Museum?
Written 6 September 2019
I don't remember exactly, but it seemed like quite a short time. Not more than an hour. There are only a few ships on display and a lot of smaller stuff to see. My worst problem was the dim lighting inside, which made taking good pictures difficult. In any case, the Fram museum impressed me much more than this one.

When on this Combo Tour, how do you handle lunch?
Written 2 September 2019
There is a excellent food place (shipping container) outside the Fram Museum which sells food. It’s spotless clean, has seating outside and the staff are wonderful. Or you can take food with you.
