Amazing visit of Oslo
Mar 2020 • Friends
We absolutely loved the tour. Ivana was an incredible tour guide who showed us the interesting places in Oslo which we as tourists wouldn't have thought of. We were able to try traditional Norwegian meals and even had the opportunity to try some unusual foods such as whale and moose. Would definitely recommend the tour not only for the food but also for the lovely company of Ivana. Thank you again from Lidya and Gosia!

Amazing Tour of Oslo
Feb 2020
I've been on many walking/ food tours, but this tour with Ivana was top notch!!! We were extremely well-fed and were able to try quite a nice variety of Norwegian dishes. My favorite was the waffle, but I won't give away the surprise trick that we learned on the tour! Ended with a nice sampling of beer - can't go wrong.

I would recommend this trip to anyone going to Oslo. Go early on in your trip so you can get a good sense for an area. The day after the tour, my family went back to a few places that were recommended.

Loved the waffles
On Sunday a very wet and grey Oslo day I took the food walking tour with Ivana and a few other people and she did a great job in keeping us up beat and enjoying the day due to the terrible weather.
But the food and information associated was great to try and overall a good tour.
Loved where it ended and spend more time in Hopyard having beer
A good tour and recommended while in Oslo
Especially liked the waffles even though not a sweet tooth

Great way to taste the local food treats!
Feb 2020 • Friends
What a way to kill an afternoon in Oslo and taste some of the local traditions. Our group was a lot of fun and got along well. We took the guide off tour and off script a little, too, but it was a real blast!

Contrary to what a lot of people think, the Norwegian food is real tasty. We had salmon, meet balls, moose with dressing and potatoes and lots of sauces and lingonberry jam as garnishments that really hit the spot. (We did not have lutefisk, thank goodness!)

For dessert, we had Norwegian waffles, with brown cheese and strawberry jam. I had to try the brown cheese after hearing so much about it and I’m glad I tried a taste of it. Next time, I’ll just have it with jam. This stop was in a busy coffee shop on the corner of the street in NW Oslo.

We made pleasant conversation in the cemetery and went way off script laughing and talking about other things having nothing to do with Oslo or Norwegian food. It was comical!

Then we headed to a bustling food hall that had more people than room and tasted cheeses and sausages from the old country. Cheese is a true tradition in Noway and the dairy farmers have put together some amazing cheeses.

Our final stop was beer tasing at a Norwegian micro brewery and the beers tastes like Stella, Budweiser and Heineken, despite being made in Norway. Then a Norwegian liquor that could have been Greek Ozo that all tasted very good.

What a nice way to kill an afternoon and have a lot of fun doing so!

Above and beyond
If you are debating whether or not to book this tour, do it! Our tour ended up being private, with myself and a friend due to other visitors cancelling last minute, but despite the cancellation the tour still went on! Our tour guide, Ivana, took us to enjoy some amazing food while giving us a cultural and historical tour of the city. Make sure you come hungry! We enjoyed traditional Norweigan food such as reindeer and pickled herring (surprisingly yummier than it sounds), and then got to try the traditional dessert waffle, topped off with a cheese, cured meat, and beer tasting. Ivana was very knowledgeable about the area and the history, and even took us through a grocery store at the end of the tour showing us some items that are unique to Norway (as I mentioned earlier in the tour I enjoyed going through foreign grocery stores)! Thank you Ivana for showing us a great time!

A fabulous snapshot of Oslo with generous food servings!!!
Jan 2020
I couldn’t recommend this walking food tour enough! We did this Tour on our first full day in Oslo so it provided a great snap shot of all the places a tourist wouldn’t normally walk through. Our Guide was Ivana and the Tour went ahead despite only being 2 of us which we were very grateful for. All of the food places we went to provided awesome Oslo food, with generous servings and a great mix of foods to try and enjoy (make sure you turn up hungry!) Ivana not only explained the foods we were eating but also gave us great info on some of Oslo’s culture and history. Highly recommend this Tour for everyone, not just foodies!!! Thanks again Ivana, Julie & Jess.

We loved the Taste of Oslo tour. Our group was small enough (five) that is was easy to get to know the other travelers and our guide Ivana. She did an excellent job showing us the city and teaching us about local cuisine.
