    What to Expect
Visit: Astrup Fearnley Museet, Strandpromenaden 2, Oslo 0252 Norway

Astrup Fearnley Museet is divided in two buildings. In Building 1 you will find temporary solo or group exhibitions by leading Norwegian or international contemporary artists. In Building 2 you will find an ever-changing selection of art works from the Astrup Fearnley Collection. In Building 1 you will also find the museum shop, with art books and catalogues, posters and postcards, design and gift items for both adults and children, and the museum bar Vingen. Vingen invites you to high quality coffee and lunch at daytime and cocktails in the evenings. The bar has one of Oslo's most beautiful locations by the Oslo Fjord. During the summer months, food and drink can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the fjord, the beach and the sculpture park.

If you are a fan of modern art and you are in Oslo this is a must. If you are not so keen it is still a good visit. The building designed by Lorenzo Piano is worth a visit on itself.

Thank you so much for visiting, so nice to hear that you enjoyed the Anselm Kiefer exhibition! Using our toilets is free of charge, so there must have been a misunderstanding. Vingen Bar takes 20 NOK for people from the beach to use their toilets during the summer, so that might be the explanation. We are sorry that we run out of English brochures, they are in production and should have been in the museum by now. Thank you for your feedback, Best regards, Astrup Fearnley Museum

The museum building is located in a picturesque part of Oslo, by the marina. The walk to that place is already worth it. The museum itself is interesting, with some really good pieces of art. I’ve spent good 2 hours over there, but you don’t have to be there for such a long

Hi Tommy, Thank you so much for your visit, we are glad the museum and the collection itself was inspiring and thought provoking. Some of the motifs our artworks deal with can be challenging, so we do advise parental guidance for younger children. Our museum opening times are 12am-5pm on weekdays (with the exception of late openings on Thursday evening until 7pm) and 11am-5 pm on weekends. The Vingen bar is open from 11am to 7pm daily. Best, Nora
