This tour was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The tour guides were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived and very informative of the tour we would be taking. The hike itself was really fun and the views were breathtaking at the top of the hill. On the way down we stopped in a cabin in which the guides provided us with traditional Norwegian snacks and stories of the local areas which was really engaging and a very enjoyable experience. To top it all off, Tor, our guide went above and beyond to aid my partner and I get to the airport under a tight time constraint to catch our flight. It really summed up an amazing day with the best guides in Norway!

Øystein, our guide, is quite possibly the most interesting and inspiring man you'll ever meet. He learned from his father to ski at 4 years old, and to climb as a child. He challenges himself to endurance races that span mountain ranges and raging rivers, climbs mountains such as Kilimanjaro and in Nepal, and daily runs "on a lazy day" a 10k. And that is just speaking to his athletic prowess. So when it was a rainy windy October day and our small band of three were challenged to make it to the top of Hananipa, we knew we were in great hands! Øystein is a professional in the outdoors and knew how to make the right call for the weather and our group. Hananipa is a steady climb made more challenging by the mud but we each looked out for one another and it was an absolute blast. We all laughed in between catching our breath and enjoyed reindeer sausage, brown cheese (oooh the brown cheese), and crackers at the summit! We all took pictures overlooking the gorgeous fjords as the clouds cleared up and the sun shone down for our return home! Øystein showed us the berries of the mountain and we tried a few. If your group makes the hike in a good time as ours did, you may get a bonus trip to a waterfall or someplace. My husband and I had an amazing hike and time with Øystein and you would do yourself a huge favor by hiking with him on your trip. He will plan out a great experience for you, trust me! Make sure to wear waterproof clothes and hiking boots!

Øystein was an amazing guide and person. I had such a great time. The hike was fantastic. He made sure got up and down safely in the rain and mud. Very challenging but very amazing views. Øystein Even took us to a nearby waterfall since we finished the hike early. Hearing his stories made the trip even more great. I definitely think the hike’s categorization of moderate is relative. This hike was a little challenging for me and I workout pretty regularly. Just keep in mind that you are literally hiking up a mountain when booking!

Love how our guide had taken into account the group's physical capabilities and to suggest different areas, asked for our opinions and we all had a great time just going up and up. It was a lovely experience and how he shared his knowledge on the landscape and the plants. Always maintaining to guide us and help us understand how to hike the terrain with care so that we will not be injured. Pacing it well for the whole group.

Such a great experience. We met Oystein in Bergen and then took the train to the top. We went off the paths and into areas we would never have seen. He was so informative of the area, having lived in Bergen all his life, enjoyed listening to his adventures and seeing the amazing views. Also stopped for some yummy treats. So glad we decided to do a guided hike. Thank you

Absolutely wonderful long hike on the peaks surrounding Bergen with easy access by gondola and funicular. Our guide, Normann, was expert in adjusting to different paces and in sharing the history and culture of Bergen and Norway. Our entire family agreed that this experience was an absolute highlight of our week of travel. We will definitely book with Norway Mountain Guides on our next trip too.

The hike offered amazing waterfalls and beautiful scenery. We had originally planned on a hike to Trolltunga, however, due to weather and wind it became necessary to alter our plans. Frank, our guide, met us the night before our scheduled hike to discuss our options and goals. During the hike, Frank led us on an extraordinary adventure through forest terrain and took us to stunning waterfalls. Frank was the absolute best guide; he took the time to explain what we were seeing, facts about Norway, plants, rocks, etc. I simply cannot imagine a better mountain guide or a better mountain guiding company.

The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience despite the heavy rains.

We had a wonderful day hiking in the hills above the fjord with Gaute of Norway Mountain Guides. He was friendly and informative and got us up and down from the peak before the rain! One of the best days of our family trip! We also appreciated the help in booking beforehand. We had only a Sunday free for the hike and some of the public tours were not available but this was a perfect solution - and not much more expensive for a group of four. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful hike yesterday with Joachim as our guide. We chose the Vidden hike and did a private hike for the two of us , and it was perfect. We were lucky to have perfect weather, and it was beautiful. Joachim was a great guide. He was very personable and interesting, and also knowledgeable about local history and botany. We really appreciated his company and highly recommend this hike!

Joachim and Thomas planned a route that was perfect for our ability, experience and goals. We spent a wonderful day exploring the beautiful countryside and returned happy and tired. Highly recommended.

We had a great day hiking with our guide, Jorgi (I’m sure I spelled that wrong!). The weather wasn’t great and it rained a bit and was foggy so we didn’t have any views, but Jorgi had so much interesting information about Norway and the local plants. We had a great time and it was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Norway.

Fabulous experience. Even better than the glorious sights was our guide, Øystein. His love of his country and the local landscape was infectious. He could not have been kinder or more accommodating to our group. The hike itself was stunningly beautiful. Our picnic overlooking the fjord was an experience I will treasure. Can't recommend highly enough!
