      Stamford spooky ghost tour
We had a fantastic time on this spooky ghost tour with Cassandra, our very own ghost and the last woman to be hanged in Stamford. Our hostess mixed fascinating town history with spooky and amusing tales that were perfect for our three children (aged 7 to 13) and adults too. Despite living in Stamford for a couple of years I can’t believe how much we learned. Thank you for a wonderful evening... I’m sure we’ll be back for more with friends!

      Ghost tour
The tour was fun and informative. Loved the research behind the spooky tour history - really brought the people of Stamford to life. Our tour leader “Cassandra the ghost” was fabulous. Friendly, clear and very knowledgeable. Would recommend highly.

      Spooky Ghost Tales
A fab tour round the beautiful historic town of Stamford. Lots of interesting information, food for thought and historical facts. "Cassandra" the last female to be hanged in Stamford, was very knowledgeable about various tales around the town. A great walk and talk with no spooks around dark corners to be worried about.

      Spooky Ghost Tour
Came over to Stamford for the Ghost Tour. The I really enjoyed it; 'Cassandra' the ghost took us all around the town, despite of the pouring rain, and down the side streets (the weather and the architecture just really helped to make it feel even more spooky). 'Cassandra' was really knowledgable about the town and I came away having felt like I'd learnt lots about Stamford that I didn't already know, as well as some interesting stories about some unfortunate demise of some of the residents over the years. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for something different to do. I definitely will be popping back for a 'normal' tour some time.

      Highly recommend spooky tour!
We booked a last minute Halloween spooky walking tour of Stamford (24th oct 9pm), with a wonderful guide who was ghost cassandra 🖤 she had amazing knowledge of Stamford, she was fun to interact with, any questions I had she was able to answer. And she did amazing considering it was pouring down with rain. Absolutely loved it, need to come for a normal walking tour next 😊

      Fantastic tour
We’re still buzzing from the walking tour with Kiffy today! Fascinating, informative, delivered professionally and friendly. Kiffy has adapted some of the content for our little girl, which was lovely. A passionate guide and a well of knowledge, who made us discover the beautiful town of Stamford. An absolute must next time we have friends and family stay over - can’t wait!

      Terrific Tour of Town
Wow. Wow. WOW! Nicky gave us a stunning guided tour of Stamford. Nicky is welcoming and approachable - she gave us so much information, presented in a friendly manner, which helped me retain it. We learned about the stunning architecture (St. Mary's Hill is particularly interesting!), the people who lived in Stamford (who knew all these characters lived here and walked these streets?!), the politics, the bullrunning, the Royal connections - you name it, we learned it! Thank you for teaching us so much, Nicky. I'm in awe of your knowledge! Highly recommended, even if you live in Stamford and think you know it all... Trust me you'll still learn loads!!!

      The star of Stamford
Nicola is a real star of Stamford. She told us about local attractions which was fascinating, but also the 'hidden' Stamford that we would have never known about if we simply used a written guide or self-guided tour. Even though we already knew a little about Stamford, we learnt so much more and thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. She is entertaining, friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable about the town. She is obviously proud of her home town and it was a delight to spend time with her. I cannot recommend her tour highly enough.

      Stamford with Style
What a fantastic tour! The superb Nicola took us back through the ages regaling tales from sinister hangings to fun ‘meat-tray’ sledding: architectural titbits, from design and sourcing of materials to ‘keeping up with Joneses’ anecdotes from people of the past – and everything in between. The amount of information Nicola provided was astounding: clear to understand and easy to retain, due to her friendly style and dramatic panache! I wholeheartedly recommend going on a Stamford Town Tour with Mayor’s Guides - even if you think you know the town. You’ll come away noticing so much more than ever before!

This was a brilliant tour led by your guide Simon ( on his birthday ! )
He was engaging , amusing and full of enthusiasm about the buildings and history of Stamford. It was also really interesting to learn the origins of many of our English sayings which Simon referenced as we shown around .
I have lived near Stamford all my life and visited many times . It was really good to stop and view buildings that we would normally walk past or not realise their historical importance and to hear about the people who had been influential in its history . Top marks ! Would highly recommend .

We did a Spooky Tales (child friendly) walk for Hallowe'en and it was brilliant! "Cassandra" our ghost tour guide was amazing - in character the whole time and full of interesting - and spooky - facts and information about Stamford. It was a really atmospheric walk especially as it was getting dark as we walked around. It was perfectly pitched for the age group and my children loved it. We would have happily carried on for another few hours! I would highly recommend, and have come away feeling very inspired both by Stamford, and our tour guide.

Our guide, Nicola, was amazing and brought the history of the town to life. The walk is fairly easy as the town is not that big. We viewed the story of the town through its buildings, including some that I wasn’t aware of. It was a lovely way to spend 90 minutes and I would highly recommend it.

If you are visiting Stamford or you even live there, we fully recommend under taking a tour. We visited for the weekend and it was a great start to a wonderful weekend in the town. Our guide, Jim Grant, was incredibly knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions and had a great sense of humour.
He was a great guide. There’s so much history in the town that next time we visit, we will definitely do another tour for sure.
Jim’s pub tour of Stamford, the 7th Oct 22 is a must not miss if you can make it.

Brilliant tour! Our relaxed, friendly and well informed guide, Jim, managed to balance delivering a wealth of factual information with humour and wit.

I moved to the area in November and although I’ve been into Stamford several times and realised it was a special place, this was the first time I’d really stopped to notice the wealth of history on my doorstep.

It was definitely value for money and I recommend this tour, and Jim, highly.

We have just enjoyed a superb walking tour with Nicola. It was such a pleasure to discover Stamford with someone who was so genuinely local, indeed someone who clearly loved her town. Great fun to be with, she combined real enthusiasm with expert knowledge -we really did learn a lot. Stamford is very lucky to have such an excellent ambassadress. Highly recommended !

We booked a group tour as part of a birthday party and it was fabulous! Informative, funny, manageable for those less “good on their feet” and we heard so much about places I’d never even thought to look, despite having lived in the town most of my life-like the Tesco car park!

Booking for a group was very straightforward and Nicola was kind enough to cover a wide variety of information to suit our 30ish guests.

    Cannot recommend highly enough!

After experiencing the Ghost Tour last year in the wind and rain, I decided to return to Stamford in the glorious sunshine to try the full tour. Again, led by Nicola, it was a really informative and interesting tour of the town. I was expecting some repeated bit of information from the Ghost Tour but it was completely unique. We had a very small group so we could go at our pace and share stories and ask questions of Nicola. It was fascinating and I learnt so much and saw many things that I hadn’t seen before even though I’ve visited Stamford on quite a few occasions; the time just flew by. Thanks Nicola. I would very much recommend the tours.

Thank you Debbie, for your comments, and so glad you would recommend the Tour (Tine flies when you are having fun they do say!). Nicola does pride herself in having different information for each tour to find new history, and with Stamford we are so lucky. You will have to look out for her next tour which encompasses "South of the River"! and hopefully re-join her for the Trilogy! Best Wishes Then Mayor's Guides

Very informative 90 minute tour led by Nicola. Covered the North side of the river and showed the town's development through the ages with quirky bits of information. Lovely small group meant we could all ask questions. We passed a rival tour which had over 20 people in the group!

We pre-booked the walking tour ahead of a short stay in Stamford and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were the only ones on the day as it turned out so it felt like a VIP tour with our guide, Simon, who was superb. Very knowledgeable and with an engaging style, we came away feeling both informed and entertained. Recommended without hesitation for anyone visiting Stamford for the first time or even for returning visitors who want to know more about this historic town.
