Highlights of Orkney in a day
Lovely day seeing the highlights of Orkney. Being in the presence of those stones at the Ring of Brodgar is hard to describe. Our guide Rachel is very knowledgeable about Orkney and I enjoyed her tour very much!

Orkney Travel Day Trip from Stromness - An absolutely brilliant tour
We had an excellent experience from our first enquiry to the tour itself. The website is very clear and offers very efficient booking. There are sufficient confirmation and pre-tour emails clearly explaining all of the requirements. We were met at the boat just outside of the terminal in Stromness and the tour was just brilliant. Our tour guide was very professional, friendly, funny and knowledgeable and shared many stories of the local history and about life in Orkney. She walked around each of the stops with us and gave excellent stories about each of the areas and she was a great driver too. We opted to visit the Italian Chapel instead of stopping at Kirkwall and it was well worth the additional fee. Best to take a packed lunch with you if you're including the Italian Chapel as you won't have much time to get a bite to eat. We had a packed lunch with us and were able to eat it in the coach. There isn't room in the coach for lots of luggage so just take a small bag with you if needed. And do listen to their advice and take clothing for cold or wet weather as the weather is changeable and the north wind can be cold. There is a little bit of walking involved, but nothing too strenuous. We would definitely recommend this tour. Orkney is such a beautiful island.

      HOY. Truly Amazing full day
Amazing full day on Hoy with our brilliant guide Dougie (pronounced Doogie) soooo much knowledge and enthusiasm weather was dreadful but that didnt spoil the experience. We covered all the history and sites of Neolithic, the navy in both wars, the lifeboats together with some of the heartbreaking stories related to them. It was a truly awesome day. Our only embarrassment is that we were a little brain dead at the end of our day we forgot to cross Dougie’s palm with silver as a thank you for a memorable tour

A really excellent tour. Our guide Rachel was amazing. Her knowledge about all the places we visited was fabulous and she also threw in some extras - such as pointing out various birds and other wildlife to us. Thank you!

      Wonderful tour company
We requested 2 days of touring Mainland and Roussay for a group of 7 friends and family from Australia. Garry's tour was excellent - giving relevant history and insights into modern life in Orkney. He accommodated our specific requests. We appreciated his good humour and willingness to do airport pickups/dropoffs as well. Would highly recommend Garry and his team.

      Great tour of Orkney
Our tour guide, Dougie, was very knowledgeable and personable. We did the private classic tour (5 hours or so) and toured many of the sites in and around Kirkwall, including standing stone circles, Skara Brae, Scapa Flow, the Italian Chapel, and a church in downtown Kirkwall. The guide picked us up at our hotel and dropped us at the airport. It was a day well spent.

      Private tours are great!
We chose the Orkney West Mainland Tour instead of the cruise line's big bus excursion, and it was definitely the right decision. It was an easy walk to meet the van at the Kirkwall Travel Centre. Chris was our knowlegeable guide who didn't rush us at each stop. Our small group of 7 enjoyed the day visiting the Cliffs of Yesnaby, Skara Brae, the Skaill House, the Ring of Brodgar, and the Standing Stones of Stenness where we parked and wandered among the stones and sheep. We got a real feel for the area and learned a lot. It's amazing to realize that some of these sites are 5000 years old and you appreciate the efforts to conserve them after they were discovered. Highly recommended tour!

Thank you so much to Chris our amazing guide. It was an amazing experience. He took his time, told us all about the history and we learned so much. We have wanted for years to visit Orkney and he made it such a worthwhile experience. Loved every minute of it.

Do this semi private off the beaten path tour!
This tour is the one to go on. We had a passionate guide/driver who loves his country and showing it off. Dougie took us to places no coach could, shared so many interesting stories and history. It’s a beautiful country and this is the absolute best way to see it. Skip the ship tours and take this one. Enjoy!

Best way to see main sights on Orkney even with limited time
What an amazing day! Our driver, Dougie met us right at the ship. There were seven of us in the van. We got to see more than we had even counted on. Had extra time so we went to Yesnabi , Cliffs, and Saint Magnus Cathedral. That was in addition to the sites that were planned: Scara brae, stones of Stenness, Ring of Brodgar…. Having a local share history, stories of daily life and take us places the big buses can’t go was well worth it! And cheaper than similar excursion offered by the ship. We told him last call was 1:30 and we wanted to get back by 1:00… arrived at 1:00 exactly!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Dougie gave us a fantastic, historic tour of Orkney. Each stop was fascinating and his commentary along the way gave us a full picture of Orkney life, then and now.

Everything was perfect from start to finish! The meeting point was super easy to find and Rachel welcomed us very warmly. We received a lot of interesting information that we enjoyed listening to.
You can't plan enough time for Kirkwall to explore it properly without prior knowledge. A tip on where to best use your hour would be helpful. So we just walked around. Nevertheless, we got our money's worth! Thank you very much! J. & K.
