Ian, our guide for this fantastic tour of the Lake District by Lake Windermere. Our family had a great day visiting the Stock Ghyll waterfall and then saw the highest points of the area. We went to the slate mine and entered the huge cave with a fantastic view. We had a drink and cake at Chesters Bakery & Shop. We visited the site of the highest pub, being renovated yet. We drove through the river after the slate mine. A fantastic tour. Ian is a very nice man and a superb guide.

I spent a full day with Ian visiting multiple locations in the Lake District. Ian tailored the tour to my particular wishes. In my case, I was interested in walking at every stop we made and Ian was pleased to accommodate this request. The trip included walks that were a bit off the beaten track. Ian is very friendly with a wonderful personality and knows the Lake District exceptionally well. He is also a cautious driver. Time flew by. This was truly an exceptional way to see a big chunk of the Lake District both by car and by foot.

Great trip to some of the highlights of the back country of the Lake District. Would highly recommend it. Ian is a wonderful guy and very knowledgeable. Unlike other trips you actually get out and explore. We also sailed on Lake Windermere with Ian and it was a lot of fun.

Ian was a brilliant tour guide, he was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us up and down the more uneven ground and took loads of family photos for us , we felt super safe throughout the tour and stopped at some beautiful spots :)

Ian, was a well informed guide, that allowed us to experience the lakes in a comfortable way. We had 24hrs to pack in the sites and Ian enabled us to experience a wide range and get off grid and explore areas we would not have been able to access. Would highly recommend

Ian was a great tour guide. He took us places that we would never have seen on our own. The cave at the slate mine has to be my favourite. The tour also included off-roading down one of the Lakes green lanes and that was an experience in itself and you got to see some amazing views - and very brave of Ian to drive down them as I wouldn’t! I would highly recommend this tour - the sights are amazing and Ian is great.

Thoroughly enjoyable four hour tour. Ian was very helpful with my elderly parents, and little dog, taking the time to ensure they were comfortable in the car. He adjusted the itinerary to cater for their limited mobility but still took us to some great places with beautiful scenery. Ian was a very competent driver and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour.

The tour was everything I was hoping for! A balanced variety of views, walks, watering holes and scenery down tucked away roads. Our guide (Ian) was friendly professional and knowledge. The highlight of our Holiday.

Our 4WD Adventure tour with Ian was absolutely fantastic! We loved the remoteness of his itinerary. The weather was a little wet & vision of high altitude areas wasn’t great, but the off the beaten track regions we visited were terrific, & Ian was a magnificent host whom tried so hard to make the day into something memorable & not overly commercialized or rushed. My wife & I highly recommend this touring opportunity.

This was by far the best experience that we had during our Lakeland holiday, we visited areas that we would never have been able to drive to in our own car and there was never a dull moment during the 4 hour drive, which includes a stop for refreshments and a couple of short walks to view waterfalls and a slate mine. Ian is an excellent driver with a charming personality and has a consummate knowledge of the area. The trip is exceptional value for the very reasonable cost and we have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending it.

The trip was memorable, with magnificent scenery as well as lots of very young and cute lambs. We took tons of photos of the mountains and rivers, and especially enjoyed the walk into the slate cave. Our guide Ian was fantastic—he is very personable as well as informative. Also a very good driver, which is needed for the 4x4 route! I would very highly recommend this trip!

An unforgettable experience - seeing some of the most dramatic landscape in parts of the Lake District rarely visited by most visitors to the area. Ian is charming and friendly. He’s a safe driver and he knows the landscape well. Highly recommended.
