Lacking in dolphins but more importantly in customer interaction
My first ever one star review🙁. We did not see dolphins on this Dolphin Adventure. We were offered tickets for another day, which we cannot use because we’re only here for two days…..,but a refund is not really the issue as it’s beyond their control to make dolphins appear. No one SPOKE to us during the trip beyond a cursory demonstration of life jackets. There was no info given about the area, dolphins or other sea life—nothing. Nothing. No passenger interaction or info. It would have been nice if we got any information about Gibraltar, the historic waterways here, dolphin life in the area—literally anything. If you don’t talk to passengers, offer education about the area, serve drinks…..then all of your eggs are in one basket- in the case the dolphin basket, and they didn’t show. Very disappointing.

Rusty Safety Equipment - don't suffer an arrest
Safety equipment is rusty. No attention paid to 'trespass'. The rusty equipment space pauses a sensible sailor'. MOB and cardiac / respiratory arrests may not be well catered for especially if occurring in combination.

      Surrounded by dolphins
Excellent experience in the bay of Gibraltar surrounded by dolphins. Crew were friendly and knowledgeable….and even made the safety briefing interesting and amusing. Spent slightly more than the advertised time out on the water watching dozens of dolphins all round the boat. When we went to book the office was closed but a colleague from the diving business phoned and a member of staff interrupted their lunch to help us. Great service. Nature can be unpredictable and we were lucky with weather, sea conditions and of course the dolphins.

Fantastic trip out, saw loads of short beaked common dolphins, they were bow running the boat and breaching not far away. Staff were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Loved every minute, would throughly recommend.

Is not 3 to 4 hours
Was a good trip saw lots of dolphins but was not 3.30 the boat trip was 1.15. Even if you include the cable car which once you arrive it takes 7 mins to the top there is not much to do once get to the top an hour at the most unless you have food there. Time wise mis leading

A great Dolphin Adventure in their natural habitat!!! You may be surprised how many dolphins you see! 😊
Dolphin Adventures is a must while you are visiting Gibraltar! 👍The tours run year round and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable! Our boat was full and we had amazing views of the Rock and the Airport Runway. A special thanks to Angie and Avi for such a memorable tour. I loved that we were witnessing the dolphins in their natural environment and seeing different types of dolphins! 🐬. Dolphin Adventures has a 99% hit rate in seeing dolphins and we were not disappointed! We saw dolphins and their calves and loved seeing their synchronized swimming! ❤️ I would highly recommend this tour to others as it’s time well spent and you will leave learning some facts about Gibraltar and dolphins! Thank you Dolphin Adventures! 😊

      Absolutely loved our dolphin adventure
Fantastic dolphin watching boat trip from Gibraltar with Dolphin Adventure. Nice clean boat and very smart friendly staff. Easy to find at Ocean Village just beside The Ship Bar/Restaurant. Although we turned up on the day the staff gave us the online price. We sailed out into the bay and saw the wonderful sight of a pod of dolphins playing and jumping in the sea, very special. The dolphins then followed the boat and we had wonderful sightings of them and some great pics and videos to treasure. Well worth the trip.

Good harbor tour with some dolphin sightings. Tram ride is only if you have time.
Good boat ride. Saw some dolphins as advertised. The extra ticket to the tram ride up the mountain to see the Macaque Monkeys did not work out with the time we had available. Long wait (1.5 hours) to get up the mountain. The tram is not close to the cruise port part of the city. The taxis are not frequent. The city run bus only takes cash. No credit or debit cards so be prepared.

We were approached by two sales reps, a lady and a man, both offering trips to see the dolphins. The man was significantly cheaper by £10, but the lady explained that her company are more expensive due to the fact they only carry a few on each trip, but the man persuaded us his trip was better and his boat much bigger, so we booked with him and saved £20. Come the time to board we found we were on the yellow boat, about 12 other people, good. The other company, a blue boat set off on time with about 20 onboard. Haha I thought to myself, saved £20 and less people on this boat. 15 minutes later still sitting waiting in the hot breathless marina and then ... hoards of other passengers, and I mean hoards, in a big big group started getting on the boat. Over 100 I am sure!!! There were dolphins allegedly but we couldn't see them because of the overcrowding. Unbelievable!! We really wish we'd paid that extra £20, which on reflection isn't much to pay for a first class upgrade, also the blue boat have very professional looking crew, not scruffy, and a red carpet and red VIP rope. Next time blues all the way, I would never book on the cheap yellow boat again, it's cheap for a reason. Visitors beware.

The price was fair for the location and the staff did a great job of finding dolphins. We had two pods swimming around and underneath the boat. The boat was not over crowded, so there were opportunities to get good pictures and video. I recommend it!

This was an excursion we would like to have done earlier in the week however we didn’t book and when we did the weather was rough so was put off till the next day. So pleased it was as the day we went out it was extremely beautiful.
We went out into the marina searching for dolphins, me and my wife sat at the front to try to get the first glimpse. It took around 30 minutes before we saw any dolphins, there were two or three nearby as there was a dolphin safari following our boat they chased after these dolphins while we searched for more.

Around 10 to 15 minutes after that we found around 15 dolphins all swimming and jumping together, it lasted for around 10 to 15 minutes before we had to head back as you come out for around one hour. The Dolphin Safari was already back as they only seen two or three and seemed to be happy with that where our searching was successful and showed more.

My photo really doesn’t do justice. Go and see for yourself! You will not regret it.

Overall an enjoyable experience and with the added bonus of your ticket giving you 10% off a lot of the restaurants along side Dolphin adventure.

We did not have to travel very far on the "Dolphin Adventure" boat to find a large pod of Short- beaked Common Dolphins. The boat was well designed to allow lots of passenges to get a great view of the Dolphins. The crew were very knowledgeable and were able to answer lots of questions about the Dolphins. I look forward to going on another trip with them in the future and highly recommend them as they did not get too close to the Dolphins but let them approach the boat and then switched off the engines, so as not to frighten or injure any of them.

Thank you for the positive review of Dolphin Adventure. Our vessels are indeed ideal for observing dolphins in the wild, Spacious decks allow passengers to move around freely and enjoy the dolphins. Your comments regarding our approach are spot on, we never crowd or chase the dolphins, we simply locate them and allow them to approach the vessel. We appreciate the review and look forward to welcoming you on your return. Thank you once again.

Not only were the two gals (the crew) onboard very friendly but the captain was amazing with his constant searching and finding pods of dolphins. This was one of the highlights of our vacation. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on this excursion and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a "dolphin watching" adventure. You will definitely see dolphins!

Very good dolphin watch. Within a very short time the crew had spotted dolphins and we bobbed around for about an hour watching what was probably over 100 of these graceful creatures. The could be seen in the distance but very close to the boat too, on all sides so everyone got a good view.
Crew friendly and dealt well with a passenger that slipped just before getting onto the boat. We had been warned it may be slippery as was wet, but he went flying anyway.
First aid kit out and he carried on with the trip as his request.
Personally glad operating at low capacity due to covid but I am sure company not. So go now.

Full disclosure. I wanted to book the smaller Blue boat that restricted the number of passengers more. But the delightful Frank convinced me to take my family on board and perhaps because early May is off season, his promise that that boat would be spacious was fulfilled. I've done the trip before and it is a really nice way to see Gibraltar from an unusual perspective. With the virtual guarantee of seeing the playful dolphins a good time was had by all. I think the cost of this is great value and you can't get closer to the dolphins without being in the water. Fab.

We had great weather the day we went out. Tues 5th October 2021. We were surprised to discover the dophins in the bay - we had assumed we'd be going out to sea (which I was dreading!)!!
We say many pods of dolphins, and the crew were very knowledgeable and talked about them. They followed pods in the boat, and turned the engine off when the dolphins hung around us.
I would definitely do this again, now I know what to expect.
I've not left a 5-star review as for me personally, the 60 people on the boat made it too crowded, and it meant I was confined to one place and unable to move around the boat comfortably to see everything.
But, if you want a more personal experience, I believe this company also offer private charters.
Overall, an amazing experience for me.

This trip really did surpass my expectations. I expected to see some dolphins and had no idea of the large number we would see - Everyone on the trip was struck with awe

The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable as well as having a good sense of humour.

This was tremendous value and I can't think of a better way of spending £20.

    Thanks to everyone involved!

Only in Gibraltar for 3 days but had to repeat this fantastic trip. Never seen these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat before and what a magnificent, even emotional sight. Watching the dolphins jumping out of the water, playing and literally showing off around the boat was great to see. The views of Gibraltar and the boats in the bay were worth the trip alone. We have shared our pictures with friends and family and they could n't believe how many dolphins there were. A big thank you to Jimmy and Steve for taking us out. The boat was spotlessly clean, you were clear on safety, very informative and it was lovely to chat with you. We could see that it meant a lot to give us all a wonderful experience. We will be back !!!
