Glencoe, Ben Nevis and Loch Ness Day Tour from Edinburgh
From US$62.67
Overview
Capture the rugged landscape the Scottish Highlands is famous for—and perhaps catch a glimpse of the mysterious Loch Ness Monster—on this full-day guided tour from Edinburgh that’s perfect for nature lovers. This guided tour eliminates the hassle of dealing with infrequent public transport or the expense of hiring a car. And, unlike other tours of the area, it includes a Scottish picnic lunch.
What to Expect
Board your coach in central Edinburgh and pass historic Stirling Castle, the Trossachs, and Rannoch Moor to Glencoe, where your guide explains the savage tale of the MacDonald clan, slaughtered here by British soldiers in 1692.
Continue through Fort William, photograph Britain’s highest mountain, 4,413-foot (1345-meter) Ben Nevis, and follow the Great Glen to the village of Fort Augustus on the shores of the famous Loch Ness. Here, you get free time to explore the waterfront, look for the monster that some believe resides in these dark waters, or relax with your picnic lunch.
As you return to central Edinburgh, savor views of Loch Laggan, explore Highland village, and glimpse the Forth Bridges.
Your tour returns you to a central Edinburgh location.

Gillian rocks, lunch was disappointing.

This was picturesque, relaxing, breathtaking, and wonderful. We were able to see the true beauty of Scotland. The tour guide was wonderful, however, the sandwich was unimpressive shredded cheese on white bread and falling out as I attempted to eat it.

Brilliant Gill!

We enjoyed the day trip to Loch Ness with Gill, whilst it is a long day of driving, the sights to look at and her commentary made it all worth while. Lunch was fresh and enjoyable.

First off, the tourguide was amazing, He cleared us up about the history of each place and had a really great humor. Anyway the tour itself leaves you unsatisfied, with only two short stops of 10 minutes in the actual highlands you feel like missing...More
