Receive a pickup from your Medellín accommodations. Your start time will depend on whether you’ve selected the morning or afternoon departure option. You’ll start your excursion by heading north out of the city to the Pueblito Paisa.
Enjoy this replica of a traditional Colombian village as you take in views of Medellín Valley, and have some free time to explore this recreation of traditional Colombian small-town life. After departing Pueblito Paisa head back to downtown Medellín, where you’ll explore Barefoot Park, and see Fernando Botero Plaza, home to 23 works of art designed by the local creative community.
After taking a stop for a traditional meal at an eatery suggested by your guide, begin an in-depth exploration of some of the city’s traditional “fondas,” learning about the typical decorations, music and activities that take place inside. You’ll head first to Boulevard 70, known for its collection of more traditional Colombian fonda businesses, then continue to Envigado Plaza, an area known as a popular fonda hangout among Medellín city locals.
Finish by checking out a fonda in Sabaneta, a one-time rural village near town that today has been absorbed into the outskirts of the greater Medellín urban area. At the end of the trip you’ll be dropped off back at your city hotel or accommodations.
