A Great Tour in St. Lucia!
We met Adrian our tour guide for a wonderful day in St. Lucia. He drove us up the mountain roads to the Pitons for great views and beautiful photos. We saw the Diamond Waterfalls, and the Botanical Gardens in the rainforest. What a gorgeous place with natural plants and herbs of the island. He was friendly and very accommodating taking us where we were interested in going. We highly recommend going with St. Lu Taxi and Adrian our tour guide.

          St Lucia private tour
Was great to see the Pitons … but the tour was just a taxi to the Pitons and back . At the Pitons we were offered a boat to get a better view and of the beach … for an extra $120 which we paid. The driver was on the phone throughout the whole journey . We were offered stops en route of people known to the driver .. to pay to hold a boa constrictor etc which we declined. A few pit stops for drinks on the hills were extortionate $2.50 to use the toilet $12 a beer . No time for lunch .., or would be over time allowed and an additional $50

          Worth the trip cost
Great trip visiting the places you should see on the island….our driver Jimmy was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Only issue is that this trip is not for the whole island . Our trip was to the southern side of the island and latest about 6 hours.

          Kenneth is the best!
Kenneth was amazing! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the island. We didn’t really have plan when we got in the car and he took over and gave us the best day! We saw all the hotspots and also got a taste of local life with him. You could tell he truly wanted to provide the best experience for us!

          Beautiful island; Underwhelming tour
Our tour guide Kenneth was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He explained much of the history of the island and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed the chocolate factory, the short ferry ride and the Pitons/volcano stop. Unfortunately, while the restaurant we went to for lunch had a lovely view of the Pitons, the restaurant itself was lackluster; the buffet was not ready when we arrived and once it was restocked, there was not enough to feed the customers present (drivers get to eat for free for bringing customers). We made a couple of stops that could have been skipped, but I'm sure the drivers get kickbacks to bring the tourists much like the restaurant. It took over 3 hours to get back to our hotel at the end of the day due to the awful traffic that we learned is a regular occurrence. Was a good value for the money as there were some beautiful spots to see and interesting things that we learned about the island, so I would recommend. Just be prepared for a long day since everything is so far apart and traffic is a bear.

Javan the taxi driver/butler for the day
Javan was a terrific driver and tour guide. We let him know our priorities for sightseeing that day and routed our itinerary to avoid the cruise ship crowds and be the most efficient. He was a willing and thoughtful photographer/videographer, and we loved the way he spoonfed us on how things worked at the stops (where to buy tickets and how much, where to change into swimsuits or use the bathroom). Javan is friendly, and fun and cares about making your experience enjoyable. We felt safe with his driving and his car was clean. He even washed it while we were on the TET Paul trail hike.

          Refund
We didn't get to do the private island Tour. We got confusing directions to meet at a hotel Blu. We looked around the meeting place and never connected with the driver.

The Only way to see St Lucia
This is the ONLY way to see St Lucia! We spent an incredible 6 hours with our driver and just the 2 of us. Adrian, who we nicknamed the Professor planned our trip according to what type of sites we wanted to see. I will never take another Cruise excursion again. I cannot recommend this enough!

          A great day
Our driver/ guide was top notch. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Had a wonderful day visiting some remote spots on the island (including the volcano). Most accommodating. We loved every minute including the spot for local lunch. Nice comfortable vehicle. Highly recommend these folks.

St Lucia Private Island Tour 27th October 2024
We loved the tour! Our driver arrived in time and discussed with us the key items we would like to cover. He gave us updates about key areas and some history, stopped when we wanted lunch and fresh coconuts plus he was our "camera man" taking pictures of us at the mud bath, volcano, botanical gardens and waterfall. Great service!

          False advertising
I booked a private island tour through Viator, and while the driver arrived punctually for our pick-up, he informed us that the itinerary on the website was incorrectly scheduled from Soufriere. Most of the planned stops were only accessible to cruise ship passengers or those already on the northern part of the island, so we were redirected to tour the Soufriere area instead. Our tour fell on a Sunday, and the driver mentioned that many locations would be closed. This crucial information should have been clearly communicated beforehand, as it impacted our experience significantly. When I reached out to Viator for a refund due to these issues, they refused to assist us. Overall, this experience left us very dissatisfied, and I cannot recommend their services.

Perfect way to spend a day in St. Lucia.. Highly recommended for cruisers looking to get the most out of their day!!
I can’t say enough good things about the island tour we took with Richard. We had a few requested stops and Richard filled in the remaining time with stops he recommended, including a lunch spot with delicious local cuisine and immaculate views of the Pitons. Richard shared his wealth of knowledge of the island and he makes his guests feel welcome with a laid-back attitude and great sense of humor. We were here for just one day on a cruise stop we couldn’t think of a better way to have spent the day! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

          Good but not outstanding
          * Arrived on time, clean mini van but driver wasn’t very informative on long drive to most of the attractions on south side of island * Asked us what our interests where once we piled in but didn’t really give a good explanation of what the attractions experience would be like. A suggestion for tour operator to maybe incorporate a laminated brochure of the top attractions to help visitors visualize. * Our trip visited included: Botanical Garden and waterfall, Diamond Falls, Chocolate store. * Stopped for a buffet lunch that had a great view but food wasn’t that appealing and $20pp. Wish we could have stopped at a local restaurant or had time for lunch at one of the beautiful beaches we passed. * Driver seemed in a hurry to return to our hotel and didn’t talk much 2 hrs back. Not a tour if you wished to learn about the St Lucia culture and favor of the island. Overall it was a good trip for our group of 4 but not outstanding time.

Please be warned there is an entrance fee to gros piton not included in this purchase! We got caught out but luckily had some money on us. The hike itself was absolutely stunning, as you walk through some lovely forest and get some lovely views. It is very steep with big steps and rocks and can be strenuous in places. The tour guide for the hike (not our driver) appeared quite grumpy and most of the time was ahead of us. We cannot fault our taxi driver, he pointed out places of interest along route and was happy to stop along the way for us to take photos. Overall was worth doing 🙂

We are sorry to hear that you were not aware that entrance fees were not included in the price. It is mentioned in there of that the entrance are not included and also it is telling you how much the entrance fees are. But overall looks like you enjoyed it very much and you were very much satisfied with the service that was provided to you. We do welcome you as a new member of our traveling family and do look forward in continuing serving you and many more in the near future. Thank You!!!

We had an incredible tour! Bucket list worthy! This is a challenging hike, but well worth it. I didn’t realize the tour didn’t include the entrance fee, so just be mindful of that and it is far from the port (about a 2 hour ride). So it’s best to allow PLENTY of time. You can also rent walking sticks for $5 (Definitely worth it) Our driver was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and an amazing navigator! We were pressed for time and she did an amazing job getting us back to the port in time. We made it back to the ship with other cruisers cheering us on from their balconies. I want to give a special thanks to her!!

Hiking the Pitons - “Unfinished Business”

This review is at the request of Ada McGlone Lester.

We booked a private tour through St. Lu Taxis and Tours. Upon exiting the ship promptly at 9:30am, we made our way to the taxi area where our driver Richard had a sign with our last name. We quickly found his van and off we went. The drive is around 1 hour and 45 minutes. Inasmuch as we watched YouTube videos to be adequately prepared, a time constraint was not one of the pre-excursion factors. Richard, who was born on St. Lucia, but also served in the US Army, was full of information on the island as well as the surrounding islands. Over our three hours in the van round trip, we learned more about St. Lucia than our prior two visits combined. As a side note, we took the ‘eastern’ route there and ‘western’ route back, which you can see on the maps screenshot I took at the beginning of the trail.

We arrived at the base of the Pitons and were assigned a guide that works for the Foundation. It’s $50 a person to hike and that money is used for everything down to guide uniforms. Of the 3,200+ passengers onboard, a grand total of 6 (including us as 2) attempted to make the climb. This should have been a sign, but being a dumb American this was our DESTINY.

Our Guide Abigail showed us the washroom, made sure we had an adequate amount of water and off we went…

The trail is broken down into 4 quarters, each becoming progressively more difficult as you make the trek. Leaving at 11:22am and having to be back to our van no later than 3:00pm we had 3 hours and 38 minutes to climb the mountain. At this point you fully comprehend what 2 hours up and 2 hours down AT A GOOD PACE really means…

At the first 1/4 stopping point we knew. You slowly start working through the five stages of grief as your body gets worn down, you are sweating more than you are drinking water and the usage of your hands on the rocks increases. But between 1/4 and 1/2 you still have HOPE. And while hope is a powerful thing, it can only take you so far in the game of the Pitons.

After a long hour+ grind we made it to the 1/2 way point were ran into 3 out of 4 of our fellow cruisers. The lone 1 was giving their all to making it to the top. At this point Abigail had to break us the news this was it. Mathematics was not our friend and we could go no further. Nooooo! I tried the stage of bargaining to little reception and slowly worked my brain into the final stage, acceptance. This was it, if we continue, make it to the top, hopefully, and miss the ship all aboard time. Nooooo!

After a few pictures with a stunning view, back down we started… Now going down has its own set of challenges, but we made it with one break.

Once we said our goodbye's to our trusted guide, we named this adventure “unfinished business” as we will be returning to complete the task. Richard got us back to our ship and after a second set of goodbye’s and a thank you for his service to our Country we hit a couple shops and back on the ship. Upon arriving to our cabin, our incredible Head Butler AG had a much needed cheese plate waiting. Sometimes it really pays to share your upcoming plans.

This is being written at the Martini Bar before we give Fine Cut on The Beyond a try. Another food review to come later… Cheers from The Beyond where the score is Pitons: 1 Us: 0.

        Safe travels…

This company is a SCAM. They charged me for a private tour and hike of the Gros Piton and all they did was drive me there and back. I had to pay for the actual hike in addition. Their driving was very dangerous and we almost got into a crash and fell down a ravene. We thought we were going to die. Also they took pictures of us without consent. I have requested a partial refund and they sent me a letter refusing to do so. I will be suing them, Viator and Trip Advisor for what I consider one of the worst days of our lives.

This specific person has done this maliciously because they requested a refund by saying to tripadvisor/viator that the tour did not take place. And to our defense we had copies of forms they signed at the hiking area in reference to their health and my driver took a photo of them being sick from the driving. This was our evidence we had which caused tripadvisor/viator not to approve their refund. Now they have placed 2 very bad review about our company. I do not know how this was allowed. I do not feel this review should be posted. Our review do say a lot about our business because they have all been great 5 star reviews except for a few. who always want to try something and did not succeed.

*Likely to sell out: Based on Viator’s booking data and information from the provider from the past 30 days, it seems likely this experience will sell out through Viator, a Tripadvisor company.
