About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- casperp6180 contributionsThe biggest cheaterHad ordered bicycles with disc brakes, but when we arrived they were bicycles with rim brakes I had specifically asked if he had disc brakes, to which he had replied yes Problems were just that he only had one bike with disc brakes (which we couldn't rent) He didn't think it was necessary to inform us that he only had bicycles with wheel brakes This is the most unprofessional and incompetent person I have ever met So I only have one good piece of advice! Don't rent bikes from himWritten 11 October 2024
- KDLRJF0 contributionsAmazing bike rental experience!I rented a bicycle from AmiciBici in Sanremo for two days. The road bike was well specc'ed and well maintained. Dealing with Katharine was an absolute pleasure. She is highly responsive on WhatsApp. Her service is exceptional. She shared cycling routes, day trip advice, restaurant advice and nothing was a bother. She really know the Sanremo area so well. If you are looking to rent a bike in the Sanremo area, AmiciBici is the place to go.Written 15 October 2023
- 802alih0 contributionsExcellent Bike Hire, Service and Advice in the San Remo RegionWe hired bikes from Kat to take part in the Milan-San Remo sportive. She brought the bikes up to Milan and we cycled back. It is a region I look forward to exploring again in the future, and I would recommend Amici Bici Cycle Tours for equipment advice and tours. Kat was super-helpful and friendly.Written 12 June 2022

- Connector2258760 contributionsMust try!! Great day of adventure and bikingThis bike tour with Kat & Gavin had been by far our best experience in San Remo. The tour is 100% tailored to your needs (and capacities) and the hosts are extremely friendly and easy to get along with. Will definitely call them again when we come back to San RemoWritten 3 September 2020
- Billyferenji0 contributionsTrip to the Mountains around San RemoThis was one of my great days on a bike and I have had a lot. A lot. Cat and Gavin were like old friends after to riding together a short while. Great climbs and vistas with safe descents for this flat lander. We missed out on seeing the pros as the Vuelta is on now. I will be back for sure and hope to go on one of their multi day packages. They were also great sources of advice on shopping and eating as they are locals which is very helpful. - B P0 contributionsOne the best riding days of my lifeOk, this is gonna sound like I'm exaggerating. But there is a reason all the reviewers give these folks 5 stars. This experience is off the charts. We need more stars! The setting is stunning to begin with, of course, but you knew that. What you don't know is that the guides (Gavin & Kat) are nothing but kindness and skill and positive energy. Really, lovely lovely lovely people. Takes the whole thing to the next level. The price becomes silly when you factor in their good vibes and skills. It's not just that they know the way and are friendly. For example, Gavin was often in front singling when we needed to slow down or where to watch out for the occasional pot hole. This is just one example of the awesome overall service. If you want to ride hard, they will take you on an epic adventure. If you want to go a bit less over the top, they know they routes for this as well. Stop for pictures, no worries, they will enjoy the views as much as you will. It's all good, really. Coffee on a beautiful square with stunning views, check. The right spot for an amazing lunch, they'll lead the way. Perfect setting + Kat + Gavin = you will have a blast. I can't wait for my next ride with these friendly souls.Written 18 July 2019
- Sparkie650 contributionsCycling paradise.Had a custom ride arranged for us with the distance and climbing metres specified by us, mainly because we didn't know what we would get otherwise. About 80kms and 1200m of fantastic easy climbing around some very picturesque countryside through some medieval villages with a fantastic lunch stop. Very flexible guides with tons of experience and providing great company. They are avid cyclists living there dream. Great to see. Wish we could have got some more rides in with them. They also arranged hire bikes for us and had them ready at our meet point.Written 6 June 2019

- Alex J0 contributionsPro roads, Pro experienceI'm in two minds as to whether to post this review or not! My friend and I were looking for a new destination after doing Mallorca to death- there's only so many times you can ride up Sa Colobra isn't there? I had heard about Amicibici as they used to be based near me in the UK so decided to arrange a trip with them. From arrival to departure the experience was first class. We arrived into Nice and were met by Kat in the arrival area. We went straight to the van where we were greeted with drinks and snacks. Whist we got changed Gav built our bikes up and within 30 minutes of landing we were riding along the cycle path from Nice to San Remo! Gav rode with us and knew the best roads to avoid the heavy traffic around Monaco which also allowed us to take in the famous Col d'Eze and Turbie climbs. A fast run along the coast then took us into San Remo. The beauty of booking a trip with Amicibici was that there wasn't a wasted minute. Day 2- weather looked dodgy so we headed along the coast and took in the last 50 k's 0f Milan San Remo taking in the Cipressa and Poggio climbs. Another benefit of an insider guide is they knew the best cafes for coffee and lunches. There isn't a cyclist I know that doesn't like a good coffee and these were first rate (and also a third of the cost of the same drink on France). Day 3 saw us head into the hills on deserted roads we would never have found without the expert guiding of Gav and Kat who have taken the time to research the area and seemed to know every road (there were a lot). We took in several climbs and got within 10k's of the summit of the Col de Turini but decided (wisely) to our round as the weather was coming in (a later look at the webcam showed 3 inches of snow at the top!). We headed back over the Col de Castillon which was another awesome climb. You only need to look at the Strava feed of many pro cyclists to see that these are their training roads and I can see why. We finished with a 60k blast along the coast on the final morning before flying back. 3 nights, 4 rides, 411km, stunning scenery, great food and great company. What are you waiting for? Roads every cyclist should ride and these are the guys to show them to you!Written 8 May 2019
- Tarchule0 contributionsEPIC day of Big climbs and spectacular viewsI would Highly recommend this experience. Kat and Gavin are fantastic riders and very friendly people with wonderful hospitality. They have an intricate knowledge of the roads. Cafes. Water stops. Castles and villages. I was able to ride and have fun and focus on the majestic scenery without having to worry about getting lost. They knew just where to stop for the best pictures. They helped me rent a high-end full carbon bike that was perfect for climbing. At one point in the ride my rear derailleur wasn’t working properly and they were able to adjust it in a few minutes and we kept riding. I really enjoyed their company on the ride and it made for one the most special days I’ve ever had on a bike. Cheers! TedWritten 2 April 2019
- OtterHall0 contributionsHelpful and fun. Brilliant routes. Booked for one day to start but used all week!My boyfriend and I are really keen cyclists and we often plan our own routes but we decided to use Amici Bici to get an idea of the area for the first day. The route was brilliant and it was so good not having to check if we were going the right way all the time especially on the more remote routes. They also knew all the water fountain locations and the ones that are safe to drink from and those not, along with all the best stops for food and coffee, depending on what we fancied! We booked for one day but then ended up using them all week. I never knew what Sanremo had to offer for road biking but now I feel like we've barely scratched the surface. FANTASTIC, highly recommend! Thank you so much Amici Bici!Written 16 March 2019

We started from San Remo Train Station, heading through the town and rapidly onto the footpaths into the mountains. The routes were very well chosen and challenging with a good amount of shade - especifally for me with fair skin !! We climbed up rapidly and the views were awesome as we headed to San Romolo, where we had a lovely sandwich picnic.
Our hike involved over 1000 meters of elevation and 13.2 km total distance. Katherine was an excellent guide, very engaging enthusiastic person with a great knowledge of different trails to explore. This is highly recommended.

Catherine made us discover Sanremo back mountain. Hiking from our hotel in Sanremo center to Bignone (1300m). Best view of Sanremo sea and mountains. Thank you also for the sandwiches and your good mood, what a great journey :-)

I had the best day with Kat, hiking from the village of Baiardo to San Romulo and back. The hike is moderately easy, with unbelievable mountain views and a rewarding deserted tiny town at the top of the mountain, complete with abandoned cable car. A terrific picnic lunch in the park was followed by running into a goat herder as we ambled back to the starting point. Highly recommend this!
