      Certainly an experience!
It should be what was advertised, IE a tour with a guide. The emails I received were misleading. The boat was a very small dinghy and the two of us were taken by a young boy who didn't communicate with us to any real degree. There appeared to be no safety features, no lights (it was dark coming back) and we felt apprehensive as we set off. We did see some action from the volcano but it was very poorly organised and we felt relieved to be back at the jetty at the end

      A perfect choice!
Absolutely a good choice! It’s been a great day, relaxing and going around the island. We would take it again! Pasquale also gives good tips on where to go and stop.

      Super choice!
This was great! Picked up at dock immediately after all the other people piled onto large boats - quiet fast boat without drama of larger group - beautiful quiet evening punctuated by volcanic activity - heartily recommend!

      Stromboli hike
Our guide Fabio was great! He paced the group well, was informative and inclusive (spoke in both English/Italian). Unfortunately the clouds sat too low and the volcano wasn’t cooperative! Suggestion for the tour operators: be more punctual or at least post a sign of what to expect! 5:00 start time indicated gather at 4:45 - we stood around worried that we were in the wrong place for 1/2 hour… when the operator arrived, we were given helmets and a headlight - completed the paperwork and then waited around even more!! After inquiring we were told we were waiting for another group! More communication and a punctual start time would have negated confusion.

      Best night ever!
On our second visit to Stromboli there was in our view no other option but to take the nightime Sciara tour again with Pasquale! Yet again all expectations were surpassed. Stromboli this year was even more active than it was in 2020 and a truly mindblowing night was had. We did in fact pay upfront for 2 trips with Pasquale in advance - it is that good! - but unfortunately the weather was not on our side and Pasquale decided it was not safe to run our second trip - which having already paid for was promptly refunded to us at a significant financial loss to himself. The safety of everyone was clearly of the utmost importance. This was also reflected when I asked if it would be possible to board the boat from a jetty close to our villa rather than going over to the main port but Pasquale refused as it is far safer to board at the port. My elderly father came along and had no difficulties entering or leaving the boat. We always feel safe with Pasquale, he does know these waters like the back of his hand after all! Pasquale's communications by email were amazing prior to our trip and then by continually updating us once we arrived so we could plan our days around the likelihood of our trip running that evening. Taking the Sciara tours with Pasquale is the only way to do Stromboli in our opinion. Yes there are bigger boats and slightly cheaper prices but the personal experience cannot be beaten! Pasquale even provided us with red wine & nuts once the sun started to set on the Sciara, such lovely little touches. Overall another truly memorable and unforgettable experience which we will treasure in our memories forever, thank you so much Pasquale! We are so grateful and will no doubt be back for a third visit to our favourite place!

Overpriced, surly boatmen, poor safety. Choose another boat!
Firstly, the web price of 50EU was a complete rip off. The going rate from other boats is 25EU. Even so the boatman had no knowledge of our booking, which had to be resolved with the help of other tour operators and phone calls. The boatman was surly and downright unpleasant. From the moment we set off to getting back he didn’t say a single thing - literally not a word! After *exactly* one hour the engine was restarted and we headed back - despite the fact that the volcano was briefly active at that moment. Safety was derisory; no life jackets, no briefing, boat not tied up during boarding and getting off (despite children and a semi disabled person in the passengers), no running lights despite return in darkness. All things you get away with for years and nothing happens - until it suddenly does. Appalling bad, do NOT book this trip. The experience is very worthwhile - but try another boat! The experience is well worthwhile - but not from this boat!

      Great experience with Caveats....
This boat trip is on an inflatable rib boat. Boarding was interesting and the number of people in the boat totalled 11..... all footwear had to be removed before boarding. The journey was fast, ex Royal Marines would be at home. The sight of the small erupting vents, from the sea was AMAZING, and although Pasquell didn't speak much English the view was superb. Would recommend but be aware of the above.

      What a night!
Pasqualo and his team are absolutely amazing! So helpful and reliable. Our tour to the Sciara was absolutely the highlight of our holiday and I cannot recommend it enough. Sitting there in the little boat under the cover of darkness watching the eruptions was just the chance of a lifetime and one of the best nights of my life! We will definitely use Pasqualo again should we return to Stromboli. He is such a sweetheart! Thank you Pasqualo!

      Sciara del fuoco
It's definitely worth the trip: we were lucky enough to see 3 "blows" 8n about 40 minutes. However the trip on TripAdvisor was quite overpriced compared to what is offered by local kiosks on the main street which charge the same trip in the range of 20€

      Buon Compleanno!
What a delightful way to spend a "birthday eve"! We booked a tour for two, which was an excellent decision. We boarded a small, fast, and comfortable boat; first to Ginostra for wine and treats at sunset, and then around to watch Mother Nature's fireworks - little explosions emanating from Stromboli's crater. A bottle of prosecco and a visit from some dolphins made the viewing all that more romantic and special. Grazie mille, Pasqualo!

Dear Pasquale, the tour was cancelled (not your fault), but we are still waiting for the 20€ down payment you promised us to send to our bank account. Still not received and no answer from you on our reminder mails (Andreas) since September 2022.

Dear Andreas, you were supposed to come to us at the port. We were waiting for you and you never came . We were happy to give you back the advancd payment. If you send emails I never replied… now I see them in the junk box… sorry for that. Any reason you never came?

Many thanks to Celine and Pasquale for taking us on a magical trip, despite our very last minute request! Watching the sun set from Ginostra before setting out for the volcano was enchanting - while Stromboli was not as accommodating in its fireworks as we had hoped, the tour was perfect for us (adult + two 13-year-olds)

Captain "Pasqualo" was great ! Everything was perfect ! I really enjoyed the sunset, the boat trip by night and also the boat was in really good condition with few people on board which was a luxury if I compare to other offers on the island!

We spent several days on Stromboli and walked to the volcano several times ourselves and were able to watch some amazing eruptions. Just to give you some information in advance. The tour we had actually booked (via Ginostra) had to be cancelled due to the waves being too high. We were reimbursed the difference for the smaller tour. The trip is as follows: In a small group (there were seven of us in total), we travel in an inflatable speedboat to the back of the volcano (the so-called Sciara del Fuoco). There, the engine is turned off and you sit in the boat between the waves (for around an hour) and wait for the volcanic activity. So if you get seasick easily: DO NOT BOOK! It won't be pleasant. Unfortunately, we didn't see anything except a red cloud. So it was very (!) boring. The "guide" (he actually just drives the boat) doesn't talk. In other words, nothing is explained or said about the volcano or anything like that - I found that a bit disappointing, as that would have made the waiting time a bit more pleasant. Or everyone gets a glass of wine - that would be a good idea too - it doesn't cost anything and it would make the wait more pleasant. Unfortunately there was a cloud over the volcano, so we couldn't see anything. You can't do anything about the weather, but you could have cancelled or rescheduled it, because the trip is pointless. It's not like a dolphin tour, for example, where you either get lucky or you don't. The volcano is active and 'erupts' every eight minutes. But you want to take the money with you... My tip: don't book in advance, but on site on the island (also possible on the same day).

Pasquale came to say hello and then left without accompanying us. You will be accompanied by a young man who speaks Italian. So you pay €65 just for the boat trip!
The outing: A first stop at Ginostra to tour the village, have an aperitif at your own expense if you wish, watch the sunset then take the Zodiac boat to witness the eruptions of Stromboli for a little over 30 minutes.

Nice boat experience where you can see the magic of the volcano. The possibility of visiting Ginostra and having an aperitif there. It’s a shame, however, that the guide didn’t speak a word of French and very little English.
