The information center on the active volcano "Stromboli Visitor Center" is a small museum where you can find all the information on the geological history of the volcano and where you can find out in real time through the active volcanic monitoring tools on the island. The Center is connected in real time with the data survey stations that the scientific community manages in Stromboli. Stromboli Visitor Center also houses the "Museum of Cinema of Stromboli" with screenings of unpublished films of the Aeolian Islands from the 1950s on

Pay in cash - do not try to us credit.
I give this company a POOR rating because of problems with payment. This hike itself was good. I cannot offer a comparison, but it was good value for 25 Euro. Unfortunately, because of an issue with the credit card machine, we paid 3 times for the experience. So, my recommendation - probably a general recommendation for experiences vs objects: pay in cash. We used a USAA Visa. Allen B, Maryland, USA

      Amazing experience
We booked a private hike while we were on our honeymoon and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Stefania organized an awesome customized experience for us and she was super helpful, responsive, and amazing to work with. Our guide Federico was truly one of the coolest people we've ever met and did a fantastic job leading the way, teaching us about the volcano, and keeping us laughing. The volcano wasn't super active the night we climbed but it was still an incredible sight for us and easily one of the most beautiful places we've ever been (the sunset, views of the other islands, and scenery alone are 100% worth it even if the volcano isn't going crazy). Highly recommend!

      Lovely and honest customer service
Outstanding customer service! Due to bad weather it was unclear if there were any ferries to stromboli and the agency provided us with daily weather updates on the phone and really detailed information! We got so many tips and recommendations from the agency! And everything really kind and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend to book here! Special thanks to the lovely lady that really made sure we got what we wanted!

      Must have with Stromboli Adventure
If you miss the vulcano view from the boat at night time, you definitely must see it from the closest point you can reach. Guides from Stromboli Adventure can help and advise you to have this must have experience.

5 stars for the volcano, guide could be better
The volcano was magnificent, fantastic views on the top including several explosions. We had a big group with people from many different countries. This was the "English speaking" tour, but the explanation was first always in Italian, than French and English at last. At every stop it was taking a long time and was quite boring because the guide had to tell everything 3 times. He also did not really take care of the slower people and other guides had to inform him people needed a break. On the way down ha checked once if everyone was there, but he raced downhill even though in the dark it was quite a challenging descent.

Stunning! Exactly what I was after
The hike started later than scheduled - which I was happy with because it wasn't so hot and because this allowed us to stay for longer in the darkness and admire the impressive explosions of Stromboli. The original group was too large and Stromboli Adventures were able to split it in two and allocate one guide for each group. There was also an extra guide up to half the way, just in case anyone decided to go back (nice detail). We were given helmets and nose&mouth masks. Our guide Federico was really thoughtful with the heterogeneous group and also with the other groups, he explained plenty of interesting facts and info. Thanks! Would definitely repeat (but next time I'll get safety goggles or a face mask to cover my eyes from the smoke/ashes^^)

Stromboli was magnificent, but not the guided tour
it was a great tour, but unfortunately too rushed probably because our guide, Gigio, had two tours on the same night. Breaks were few and erratic though everybody in the group made it, and no time for explanations. No time to eat and change at the helipad prior to the summit because suddenly there was space at the summit. As a result, too much hectic to admire the spectacle in peace. Then a rushed descent with no stop to remove the sand from the shoes after the steep sandy part, because we had to meet another guide bringing us down. However, she was not there and now finally a long break, but by now people were keen to finish the trip. Fortunately, we were able to join another group on the way down. I would suggest to just limit the number of groups if it cannot be managed that everybody can get the full experience.

      Not disappointed
Booked through their website. Stefania was prompt with answering emails. Paid on the day. You meet at their booking office which is to the road that goes right of the church in the piazza, and past the hospital ( a 2 minute walk). They provide you with helmets for the top of the volcano. Hiring gear can be done from a few places on the way up to their booking office. We used the one in the piazza (walking sticks only as we had all the gear). We went up in a big group. The guide was polite and had good English, but didn't give much chance for back of group to have a rest and catch their breath before he set off again. If I was basing my rating on this guide it would be average to poor but I'm basing it my experience with this company and how they helped me get to the top to see the eruptions. I was actually sick and had over heated and needed a little more time than given to rest so unfortunately I had to be left behind not to be able to continue with the group ( which is understandable since you are on a time limit to get to the top). This was not my first volcano climb so knew what I was up against. While waiting to cool down and catch my breath another group of climbers came up from the same company, asked if I was ok and what had happened. They explained they were doing a private tour but we could tag along until we got to the point of no further without a guide. They were fantastic, they explained lots of things about volcanoes, with the correct amount time given for breaks. The private group and the guide let us carry on with them to the top to see the eruptions. The way back down was full of dust kicking up and visibility limited ( wearing glasses and a face mask = fogging of glasses) I fell 3 times ( well actually skied when losing footing on soft surface). Its 3 hours to climb up with different terrain's so wear good boots ( and gaiters for on the way back down definitely recommended). We carried a hydration pack in our backpacks. Whilst sweating when climbing up and down ( breathable fabric t-shirt was a god send. It was windy at the top so wore a jacket as the wind turned cold. You will need a good head touch. A good digital camera will catch the explosions, I took my EOS with 300mm zoom lens. What made me smile was there are concrete fall out shelters at the crater - don't know how useful they'd be. You get to stay an hour at the top and the explosion were every 15-20 minutes. It takes 2 hours to climb back down (on a sandy ashy slope) Anyway a huge massive thank-you to those two guides who got me to the top ( you know who you are - hope that pint of beer was a good one). How me situation was handled was outstanding customer relations. Thank-you Stromboli Adventures.

Ok, but get a private tour if you're a fit mountaineer or photographer
Very slow hiking. If you're a fit person, you'll be bored. This company is not for mountaineers, but normal people and in my group even a small child aged 9-10 was allowed to join the group (after 15min the kid was moaning for almost the entire ascent which was very annoying for the rest of us - to the extent, that some poeple got to the back of our group just to avoid listening to that bloody whimpering kid. Honestly, which parents are taking a kind that age up a 800m ascent?). We were a small group and had to overtake a few larger groups, which was good, but our guide just ruined the greater speed of a small group by taking very long breaks and there we had such a long explanation talk, everyone got bored eventually. First in Italian, than in French and finally a very short English version - aligned with the language abilities of the guide. I just wanted to go to the top to see the eruptions - and had to listen to this never ending blabla instead. This was very frustrating. Well, I was compensated on the top by quite a few eruptions and I have to admit, that this company allowed for the longest stay on top than any other. But if I were to go again, I would probably go for a private tour - cut the small talk anybody knows who has himself informed of the place he goes and get to the damn top where every minute is valuable - you can talk after the experience as long as you like!

Vulcano tour good but not perfect
A hiking tour to the top is offered and the give what they offer. a few stops with some information. This could be improved though.. my thirst for information was not satishfied. that being said i am information addicted and have high standards for this. The guide and the administrator of the company do speak beter than most on the island and get a plus on friendlyness.

      Just what we expected
We were a group of 10 friends visiting Stromboli on a sailing boat and we wanted to climb the volcano. Communication with the owner (Stefania) has been easy, she even helped us with finding a mooring on a buoy (a must if you need to leave the boat unattended as the anchorage is very open) and had no problem rebooking our climb to another day because of a windy weather. The climb itself can be tough (about 3 hours), but nothing special if you have experience hiking in the mountains. I personally found the decent to be more difficult (because of dust and darkness). We have been lucky with the weather and the eruptions have been spectacular, we saw probably 20 or more - a real highlight of our journey. They do not rent out equipment (only provide helmets), which should be rented separately on the main square some 200m away. I would use this company again without hesitation.

      Friendly guide, few explanations
This review is purely about Stromboli Adventures, not the volcano (which gets 5 stars and is an absolute must-see from the top). The staff at Stromboli Adventures were very friendly and professional when we booked the tour. Our guide made sure that everyone made it up the volcano, maintained a slow pace, built in many breaks and gave us lots of time on top. We were one of the last (or slowest) groups to reach the top (way after sunset) but the good thing about that was that we had so much time to enjoy the volcano and wait for explosions. The pace for the way back was similar, which meant that we weren't back until almost 1:00am. I found it a pity that the guide hardly explained anything. Nothing when we departed (just: let's go!) and very, very little on the way and nothing at all on top. He hardly even introduced himself and never introduced our second "guide" (who made sure no-one was left behind). Part of the reason was probably because the guide hardly spoke English (or French). So there is room for improvement there (and we did see other guides taking time to explain things before and during the hike, with some going out of their way for their clients).

      I'll be back
Sitting on the top of the vulcano watching the eruption is one of the moments when a person realizes how beautiful life is! Almost died on the way up but the guide, Marco, made it all easier for us... very professional, we made a lot of stops while he was telling us stories about the island and the vulcano... besides the beauty of the vulcano, one appreciates the way back down which is fun fun fun! Don't miss this!

The friendliest and most helpful people on the island!
Out of the handful of companies organizing treks up to the top of the volcano, Stromboli Aventures is undoubtedly the BEST. -Lovely people. (they go above and beyond to accommodate you. They even babysit your kid while you go trek the volcano.) -Good price. -Super friendly guide. These guys really made our visit to the Stromboli exceptional! Can't recommend these people enough.
