Experience the region of Rocamedour from Sarlat without renting a car
Rocamedour was incredible! Your tour offered me the opportunity to climb the steps to the Black Madonna in the cathedral, but climbing them isn’t required. Anne also drove others to the top, accommodating all of us. She also shared her knowledge about the area’s history, culture, and local points of interest. Five of us were picked up and dropped off in a nice, clean van on time. We even had time for shopping and photo stops.

Enjoyable and informative introduction to the abundant pre-history in the area near Sarlat-La-Canéda.
It was a most enjoyable day with a friendly and informative guide that took in the museum, Rouffignac Cave and Lascaux IV. The guide on the tour and the guide in the cave were knowledgable about their subject and provided lots of background about the people and their way of living as well as their art. I learnt a lot especially the surprising origin of the description Cro Magnon.

      A fascinating day of prehistory
This was a real highlight of our trip to Perigord. The day is spent along the Vezere river valley. Anne was very informative and very helpful, going out of her way to ensure our trip was as rich as possible. Visiting the Grotte de Rouffignac on the small electric train was a privilege. We really got a feel for the real experience of these deep elongated cave systems. The tour guide there kindly gave her informative description in both French and English and was able to answer our questions in a very informative way. It is quite cold there so you need a warm top. Lascaux IV is a very realistic reconstruction of Lascaux allowing lots of visitors to experience the wonderful cave art without damaging the nearby real Lascaux cave. There is a lot to see and the tour guide was good at navigating us through all the key points. The audio quality with the headsets was very clear. The atelier exhibition at the end is worth seeing.

      Dordogne villages
Anne gave us a lovely introduction to the villages in the area and their history. Super viewpoints across the river valley and an enjoyable boat trip on the Dordogne, where we learnt about historic trade on the river. Everyone in our group was friendly. Beynac is quite a steep descent by foot from the top. Less mobile people might want to travel back down in the vehicle.

Rocamadour - must see medieval marvel!
Rocamadour is a medieval marvel and well worth seeing! The half day tour is a great introduction to the town and surrounding areas, particularly if you don’t have a car. The tour is conducted with a small, manageable group in a comfortable, air conditioned car. I was lucky enough to have Anne on a three tours I did with Ophorus in the area - she was knowledgeable, fun, accommodated everyone’s needs and made it a special experience! The tour group do such a great job I think they should also offer full day tours to Rocamadour, especially for travellers without cars so they can explore and experience more of the village. Highly recommend!

Nice way to spend an afternoon.
Lovely trip through 3 typical villages, each with something unique to it. Ann was a great guide and driver. My main issue had to do with the boat ride. It was all in French and while we were given Audio guides, what we heard was completely different and not at all current compared to what the tour guide was saying. I understand enough French to know the difference and the experience was very disappointing.

Great way to see the caves without a car
Terrific day out with Ann. It was fascinating to see two different caves as they are so different. Ann shared lots of wonderful information about the area and even had warm clothes for us to wear in the first cave. It was freezing so come prepared. All in all a nice experience

Great sites and our guide Anne was delightful
The commentary Anne provided to the historic sites gave deeper insight to the fantastic tripartite tour. It was a quick overview of each place and makes one want to spend more time there again, but enough to check off your list.

      Spectacular scenery
This was a great way to see the countryside and the spectacular sanctuary of Rocamadour. Our guide Ben was knowledgeable and informative. Another comfortable vehicle and we enjoyed the tour. It does take approximately 50 mins each way so you have about two hours at your destination but you do pass through some spectacular scenery.

Great way to see the prehistory sites.
We had a wonderful day tour of Rouffignac cave, Les Eyzies and the prehistory museum as well as Lascaux IV. We were transported in a clean, modern, air conditioned van by our delightful and well informed tour guide Anne. There were plenty of opportunities for toilets, food and photos ( other than the caves where it is not allowed) as well as some bonus stops on the way. If you have arrived by train ( like us) then this is a great way to see some of the country side and some of the prehistory sites. We thoroughly recommend this tour and if you manage to get Anne as your tour guide, you are in for a fabulous day.

      Amazing educational experience!
We had a great trip with Ann! She was extremely helpful, friendly, very knowledgeable guide! She answered all our questions and even gave us some tips for our next trips in the area. She is also an excellent driver! This trip was very pleasant, it covered 2 major historical sights and a boat ride on Dordogne river. I would recommend this trip ( and Ann ) to everyone!

      A great day out
Our guide Anna was excellent, flexible and tailored the day for us. Started at the museum, then Roffignac, then Lascaux. All wonderful to see and straight in without waiting. Filled the times between with great options.

      Thought provoking, interesting
We had a great time visiting the caves and museum. Our tour guide Benoit was full of information, insights, and open questions. It was a delight to be introduced to what this area has to offer by him.

Ben was a great guide and very knowledgeable. The mix of villages was very interesting with some great views of the Dordogne valley from the high points. The hour on the boat ride was a great way to chill for a bit while taking in the views and information from a different perspective

An excellent morning spent on a walking tour through Sarlat markets. Our guide, Benoit, was super friendly and knowledgable about the town, history, area and of course the food. We stopped at 3 different places to sample different foods and wines. Absolutely no pressure to buy anything at all, you could literally just enjoy the tour and samples. A perfect way to explore the town as well. We’d been to Sarlat before but it was a much better experience having a local show us round and he had lots of helpful suggestions of things to do, places to eat and what to look out for if you did want to buy authentic produce of the area. Highly recommend!

The tour was well organised and the guide was very informative. The tastings were done well with explanations about the different cheeses, then the charcuterie with their matched wines and finally a celebration of walnuts in the form of walnut cake and croquants with an espresso. We learnt about the city of Sarlat and its renovation from the 60’s.

A very enjoyable and informative tour.

This is our second visit to Sarlat and we still learned much from our charming and knowledgeable guide about the town, markets, and local producers. The stops for tastings of local products ranged from walnut candies, cakes and cookies to a variety of foie gras and sausages. The wine pairings were inspired and we learned to expandable beyond Monbazillac with foie gras. We discovered — and bought! — walnut jam, truffle sausages, several types of foie gras, truffle mustard, walnut mustard... a feast for all the senses. Many thanks Ophorus!
