Visit an authentic Pessebre Vivent (or “Living Nativity”) in a village near Barcelona. Representing Christ birth scene is a tradition held in Catalonia since December 1962. It is staged at Penya del Corb, a set of reddish rocks placed on top of the village. Visitors walk inside the Nativity scene along with living figures. This impressive scene includes 225 characters who work selflessly, dressed according to Jewish and Catalan tradition, representing multiple old traditional scenes, including the Angel of the Annunciation to the Virgin, the shepherds and sheep, life in Nazareth and typical Catalan scenes in farmhouses with traditional crafts and traditions as Christmas songs and Caga tió.
