    Enjoyable experience
The castle is a must visit, and a very worthy stop was we drove from Alba to La Morra. Sweeping panoramic views from the castle grounds. We visited the well stocked enoteca selling local wines and regional specialties, also enjoying our first (paid) tasting of barolo. We did not visit the museum.

    Good local stop
Great place to stop for a few minutes and look around. Great panoramic views of the area and a well stocked wine shop selling local wines and regional specialties. Be careful of the sun! The place is just like the Acropolis in Athens….not a tree in sight under a cloudless blue sky!

    Pretty Spot
Beautiful grounds of this lovely castle which holds the truffle auction each year. The grounds are beautiful and the views are breathtaking! Inside there is a coffee shop with a huge window that looks out over the hills. We did not eat here, but we were very tempted as the food looked delicious.

    absolutely disorganized
on the old website they do not specify you’ve got to book, otherwise you’ll be forced to wait forever outside in the sun. It is unbelievable how such a big organization can lack in the basics of communication

    Ok
I really like visiting UNESCO sites, and I loved the wine region...but I was quite nonplussed by this museum. Maybe I should have tried the restaurant and done some wine tasting too?

    Must see...
There are two main reasons to visit the castle the first is the stunning view over the area, which also explains why they chose to place the castle at this strategic point, the other is the museum which is located in the castle where you can see an exhibition of the life and work in this region in the 17th -18th century. The place is not accessible for people with walking difficulties as in the museum there are many stairs to climb

    Great
Really enjoyed the castle and especially the vistas. Beautiful castle wonderfully restored and modernized without losing its medieval feel.

    Nice stop
If you are around and you have a couple of hours I’d recommend to stop at this lovely castle. It contains a wine museum inside and some artifacts about count Cavour and his lifestyle. It’s nothing that special to put it on a must see list but it’s quite a nice place to visit on a beautiful day. There is a store on the ground floor where you can purchase wine and some typical products from the area. In the castle is also a 1 Star Michelin restaurant. There are vineyards around and the view is very pleasing for the eye. We spent around 1-1,5h there.

    Excellent vrnue
The castle hosts a one star Michelin star and a well known wine shop. It is a nice and well kept building in which there is a wine museum and artifacts related to old times and to the way locals used to live. It is easily accessible and there is a good parking near by. From its courtyard is possible to see a wonderful panorama of the Langhe region.

    Nice museum
This is like several museums in one. You start with a history of the wine industry in the Langa. There are some interesting displays, including one huge press. The next section is the history of the castle which has a prominent place in local culture. Then there is the part about the man himself. He was a wine producer, a political leader, and some would say, the savior of the wine industry. Finally, there is a section on life through the centuries in this part of Italy. There is free parking in a small lot below the castle. The audio guide is good and adds to the experience. We were surprised when we realized we had been there almost two hours.

Spectacular Setting and Informative museum of the Langhe
Walk up the stone walkway to spectacular views of vineyards. Inside the castle is a gift shop with wines, and premium gifts of bottled truffle products and honeys. Restuarnat and cafeteria. Hall of Masks, look up, for 156 reproductions of coats of arms and face masks. Go back in time when the Count Camillo Benso of Cavour, one of the architects of the Unification of Italy lived here from 1832-49. Did I recall correctly approx 800 in the town? Well maintained rest rooms in the lower levels, down several flights of stairs. What great views of vineyards from inside the castle (top floor) and from the ground.

A 14th century fort on top of the hill
This massive quadrangular structure consists of a large keep, adjacent to an U-shaped structure. A tall and massive tower keeps company to several smaller turrets. It has had multiple owners over the centuries, including a few famous ones, such as Pietrino Falletti and Camillo Benso, Conte di Cavour, who acquired it around 1830. Each left his mark on the castle, which includes rich interior decoration and currently houses an ethnological museum, the Cavour Regional Enoteca and Marc Lanteri Al Castello, a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is listed by UNESCO on the World Heritage List,

    Barolo and Beauty
From the hilltop vista and lawn view the vineyards (Barolo) and Hazelnut orchards--just a short drive from Alba. The castle is the venue for the annual truffle auction of international renown. Beautifully restored in the 60's and home for an important founder of modern Italy and key force in development of the wine making industry of this region. The museum is of interest to gain an understanding of history of this region and its role in the formation of modern Italy.

Built on top of a hill, the Grinzane Cavour Castle dominates, with its beauty, the stupendous panorama of the hills: You can already see it when there are a few kilometers to go. It is surrounded by hills and vineyards of the Langhe. It is very beautiful outside but inside it offers few panels and the price is high considering other castles in the area.

Castle from outside visible for free. Nice place.
Inside there is the wine shop where you can shop and taste.
With a ticket of 8 euros you can visit various rooms (there are some stairs but they are very feasible, nothing challenging).
Many curiosities about wine and peasant and count life.

Nice, very informative museum in the middle of the Langhe vineyards. We really enjoyed the visit. The museum allows you to understand the crucial role played by Cavour in the history of the reputation of the region's wines. Great discovery!
The introductory video and the exterior explanatory courses are very well done.

Furthermore, the very well maintained castle offers a superb panorama of the surrounding vineyards: magnificent views, it's beautiful!
We appreciated even more that it wasn't crowded at the end of July.

Very nice visit. We recommend

As soon as I set eyes on this spectacular medieval castle, I was awestruck by its magnificence; especially as was was surrounded by snow which only added to the fairytale atmosphere. I enjoyed exploring the interior museum and afterwards had a delicious meal and beer in the castle courtyard. Grinzane Cavour Castle was one of the highlights on my recent trip to Piemonte.

We visited the castle which is looked after down to the smallest detail, the museum is really well kept and is explained in every detail. We ended the visit with tasting and purchasing wines in the regional wine shop. Sincere thanks to Simona and Tiziana who were able to advise and assist us in a friendly and professional way

We were first attracted by the exterior, with this beautiful, enriching little walk before arriving at the castle. Not knowing much about wine, but enjoying drinking it, we read the explanations and illustrations in Italian, English or French on the region, the wines, the owners. A very pleasant course with a breathtaking view. As soon as we enter the castle, we are very well received and benefit from an audio guide also in French. Neither too long, nor too little... You will have understood, we recommend this visit!

A must-visit for anyone staying in Langhe. The castle itself is beautiful, and offers an extremely educational and informative experience for anyone who's interested in learning about the region's history, as well as past and present winemaking. We loved our visit and look forward to returning soon.

We returned a few days later at night to take pictures of the castle which is lit up every night with the colors of the Italian flag, and it was beautiful to see at night.

Small castle also home to the Piedmontese regional wine shop Cavour. Built in the 11th century, it also belonged to the family of Count Camillo Benso di Cavour. Really worth a visit. We recommend it.

Fabulous castle, well preserved, containing the Langhe Museum, very well organized. Rooms and audio/video stories very well structured.
Breathtaking views of the surrounding vines.
Very interesting to know the story of a giant like Camillo Benso Count of Cavour with the production and care of wine.
Only negative note: inaccessible for major disabilities, only flights of stairs and no possibility of an elevator or ups and downs.

Arriving in the park, we were pleasantly surprised both by the castle and by the outside. The tour is in the form of a pleasant tour through the castle with breathtaking views of the surrounding villages. We took an audio guide to get the explanations in French. A visit to recommend if you are in the area.
