Lovely way to spend a Winter's Afternoon
Service very good. Food good. Views a bit limited, not helped by the fact that it gets dark fairly early in December. But overall, very enjoyable.

Lovely way to pass a Sunday afternoon.
We had a very pleasant couple of hours munching our way through sandwiches, cakes and scones with cream and jam, all served by cheerful staff whilst watching the lovely countryside slip by at a very relaxing pace. What a treat! Worth doing.

      Brilliant experience - highly recommended!
This was excellent. This was a birthday surprise for my partner who loves afternoon tea. We'd talked about going on a canal boat trip so this seemed too good to be true when I found it. The trip itself was really relaxing and it was lovely to see all of the wildlife. The staff were really friendly and attentive - we didn't catch the lads name who was on board serving us but his attitude was fantastic. The tea itself was surprisingly amazing. With my partners and my dietary requirements, eating in some places is very hit and miss but not here. In fact my partner's verdict on the GF bread was that it was the best she's ever eaten! We wouldn't change anything about this trip and will be returning over Christmas / into the new year with family.

      A great experience!
Had a wonderful time taking my mum out for Afternoon Tea on the boat. It was a very wet and windy day but we were well protected from the storm. Each table had a radiator so warm and cozy. Food was lovely and the service was great. A great experience!

      Afternoon tea cruise.
Very well organised 2 hour afternoon tea cruise, helpful friendly staff. Beautiful views and up close to the wildlife, we saw swans, herons etc. Delicious sandwiches and cakes and they have a savoury afternoon tea if your not a cake lover.

      Drinks Ahoy Trip!
A friend and I throughly enjoyed the Drinks Ahoy Cruise. The atmosphere on board was just right with music loud enough to hear but not too loud that it making talking difficult. The drink choice were spot on and we enjoyed trying the different cocktails. We added a graze box to our night which we would absolutely recommend! There was plenty of choice and for us, it made the evening that much better. The staff were very helpful and certainly know their customer service. All in all a brilliant night and one that we shall definitely be repeating.

      Relaxing, scenic, afternoon tea experience.
If you enjoy an afternoon tea, then what could be better than enjoying one whilst gently cruising down a canal with beautiful scenery surrounding you. The gentle pace of the boat journey helps provide a really relaxing experience and helps to make an enjoyable occasion even better. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would happily recommend.

      Relaxing Afternoon Tea
Booked online which was easy to do and a very reasonable price. Enjoyable afternoon tea on board a barge complete with a mini cruise along the canal watching the scenery. Staff were a great team, waiter was charming and attentive. Afternoon tea was freshly prepared with sandwiches, scones and mini cakes. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of hours. Thank you.

Good trip - pleased we did it.
Booked a head online, as these trips are popular. Well organised, friendly helpful folks, wonderful scenery, afternoon tea, tasty very fresh sandwiches, scones and cakes, with a cuppa or fizz. Good seating at a table with passing views. Excellent value and a good example of Yorkshire hospitality. Good car parking close to canal just over the bridge. An enjoyable trip.

      Relaxing trip
The weather was wet, which was a bit of a disappointment but this didn't spoil the afternoon. Afternoon tea was enjoyable, the staff were attentive and friendly. Altogether a very enjoyable and relaxing couple of hours.

      Fun on the canal
Absolutely fantastic, my sister and I are from the United States. I owned a pontoon boat rental service in Michigan. This was a great experience, and I would recommend anybody with a little bit of boating experience can figure it out the canal system is a very unique system that the United Kingdom has, if you like to boat then everybody should experience it. Very tranquil and relaxing.

      Excellent trip from skipton
Excellent 3hour trip from Skipton. From stepping aboard everyone was so friendly. Our amazing waiter Frazer did many things from serving our delicious roast beef lunch with apple pie and ice cream. To jumping off the boat and running ahead to open the swing bridges. And close them ! . The scenery was beautiful and it was all so peaceful. The Christmas lunch trips sound good I think we may well be trying one.

Had a lovely trip along the canal. Very relaxing and the commentary was very entertaining. The children were kept entertained with colouring whilst we waited to set off which was a nice touch. The company were also very accommodating when I booked the wrong date by mistake 🙄 Enjoyed fish and chips at the restaurant next door afterwards which I can highly recommend too.

The cruise itself was scenic and relaxing and the boat was very comfortable with lots of leg room in the seats, Staff were nice and friendly and even came round and gave the dogs on board a treat which was a nice touch and the bar was stocked and open!.

Now the less than good bits..

The advert on the website states "Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame" which suggests Dave is actually on the boat 'guiding' but it was just recorded commmentary with his voice used, a bit misleading as i would imagine a few people book thinking they are actually getting to see Dave in person.
The commentary, which we actually heard (more about this is a minute) was informative and humourous in parts but was utterly spoilt by the 4 blokes in the seats in front of us who never stopped talking over the commentary ALL THE TIME - and not even about the Cruise/area/history etc it was just them 4 having their own private conversation about Covid/Emails/life in general the entire time we were on the boat, both myself, my partner and the couple behind us were very close to saying something but didn't want to cause a scene as obviously the rest of the boat were trying to listen and of course we didn't know how they would react, we both commented at an audible level how rude they were being in the hope they would take the hint but they didn't, we thought a couple of times they had finally shut up to let us enjoy what we had paid for, we were wrong, the silence was obviously too much for them so one of them started up another conversation much to the annoyance of us all again, Surely a member of staff should have stepped in and asked them to be quiet so everyone could hear the commentary? maybe it's acceptable to talk all the way through the cruise and we were just on a 'quieter boat'? Why they bothered paying money to sit on a boat when they could've sat in a pub and chatted beats me, i would have given a higher rating but these 4 men spoilt the journey for us and we were quite glad to be off and rid of them in the end.
Maybe you could get Dave or a member of staff to ask that people respect others and not talk during the commentary bits?.
An absolute shame as the bits i did hear were very informative and interesting.

A very relaxing and interesting cruise along the canal.

The crew were excellent and the commentary informative and amusing.

I was on the barge with my 84 year old mum and she enjoyed it immensely.

And finally, the work done by the crew and company to making the trip 100% COVID compliant was immense and hugely appreciated.

Very professional and COVID aware/safe. I would recommend this cruise down a lovely canal whilst being entertained by a witty but informative commentary by Dave Spikey. Why not slow the pace down, sit back and enjoy this lovely experience. If you’re in the area, make a booking. Suitable for all ages. Delightful.

We booked onto the hour long cruise in July. It was ok. The weather was very wet which meant the windows all steamed up. This meant we saw very little of the outside. It also felt quite cramped especially at the front where we were sitting. The commentary by Dave Spikey was quite amusing. Overall an ok trip.

Group of 5 took the hour tour on Saturday 14 May. It was a waste of time as there were 4 noisy constant chatting women behind us which made the commentary impossible to hear most of the time. Reported this at the end of the tour to the person in charge of boat who told me to go to office. In the office, the reply was did you ask for the commentary to be turned up? So for anyone who has a similar experience go and ask at the time for the commentary to be turned up!

Good Covid guidelines being followed and people lined up on one side to enter and left the boat on the other. Masks used appropriately. We had the packed lunch which wasn’t cheap but was filling and tasted good. The trip was about an hour and probably the only negative comment was it was difficult to hear all the commentary as it wasn’t loud enough and people were chatting. Social distancing with the seating arrangement was good and great that the company allocated the seats.

The first boat trip of the day 11.50 goes over lunch so was mostly adults.
Seats assigned because of covid so no need to worry if you are at the back of the queue when you arrive.
Enjoyable ride; the canal is relaxing and the sheep staring at you as you pass them is quite entertaining.
You can buy drinks on board.
Dogs welcome as you can see on my photo.

The team were really efficient and friendly. Covid procedures were followed so passengers were socially distanced and seats and rails were sanitised.
Refreshments were offered at a reasonable price.
Only comment is that there is not much leg room so can be uncomfortable.
