        A Beautiful Day
The tour of the immense olive and grape plantation was great. Our personal guide, Tina was incredible! She taught us everything about olive tree and olive oil making. After walking about the plantation we learned about pomegranate trees, orange trees, fig trees. Following our tour, they gave us a delicious lunch with wine. We had a traditional Greek salad, sausage and spinach pies. There was too much to finish. The food was better than on our cruise ship the Azamara Pursuit

Unique olive oil tasting experience at Liotrivi Mansion
During our stay at Liotrivi mansion, we enjoyed a short private guided tour in the olive oil museum followed by an olive oil tasting of local production. It has been an interesting experience that we recommend. If you wish you can buy on spot some olive oil of exceptional quality!

I booked for a wine tasting because I wanted to taste the local wines. It was a really good experience. Really kind staff and with professionalism. Beautiful tastes and aromas accompanied by a very tasty platter. I really love wines and this guys gave me a very good experience. Thank you for everything.

        Amazing
This is such a special place to see. The turks tried hard to invade the castle but could not, so they stopped ships from bringing in food, sad. While there is not a beach, there are some places to swim.

        Our favorite place
This was one of the best places during Greek tour. Since cruise ships do not come here, only small boats, great place without crowds.

        Would definitely revisit
Old charm, cosmopolitan, up-scale restaurants, amazing views, historic... Monemvasia has it all but beaches. Visit nearby Elafonisos if you are also a beach person.

It is worth seeing in Monemvasia
Stone houses, domed alleys, Byzantine churches and Venetian mansions. In the Peloponnese, a lively castle of the Middle Ages, as a fairytale. It is sculpted in the rock like a sculpture. Monemvasia, the "Gibraltar of the East" or the "nautical boat" of the great Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos, born here, call you for a direct embarkation for a trip in time. Wander to this uniquely preserved medieval settlement in the Peloponnese with its vaulted streets, churches and mansions. Dive into the dreamy beaches and enjoy the modern comforts, tastes and wine. Many were beaten by it: knights, pirates, crusaders and emperors. Discover it.

        Worth A visit
The views are great and the historical significance impressive. Take a good pair of shoes and some extra water as there is a lot of walking and trekking outside areas where there are shops. definitely worth the visit.

        Absolutely love this walled city:)
I loved everything about Monemvasia. Monemvasia is accessible only by a short causeway that connects it to the mainland. The ancient walled city sits adjacent to the sea and beneath the imposing remnants of the Byzantine fortress situated high on a plateau. There are countless serpentine alleys and covered gates that facilitate the delicious experience of wandering through the old city. The water is a marvelous shade of emerald with a rocky, almost lunar type bottom that provides canons of hiding places for fish and marine life. Monemvasia sports numerous tavernas and cafes within the walled city that provide great meals and refreshments and there are numerous lovey hotels, my favorite being the Ardamis Guesthous.

We learned a lot about how olive oil has been made in the region, we tasted the nuanced differences between types of oil (which has ruined olive oil back home for me), and we made new friends with the wonderful people who gave us this wonderful experience. The wine tasting was also phenomenal, with the best wines we tasted in Greece. The tour was private, so it really was a fun and comfortable time with nobody else to distract our wonderful host.

This was easily our favorite experience from our three week vacation in Greece, and we intend to return again now. At least they ship their products to the US, so the oils we fell in love with will be there when we get home!
