Whale Watch Excursion from the Big Island
From US$116.37
Overview
Get a prime view of Hawaii's migrating humpback whales on a Big Island whale-watching cruise from Kailua-Kona. Whale sightings are guaranteed on this immersive catamaran tour with onboard naturalist guides. Listen to whales through a hydrophone connected to a sound system, and get comfortable in between sightings with amenities such as cushioned seating, a shaded sun deck, Kona coffee, and a premium bar.
What to Expect
Arrive 30 minutes early to check in, and board a specially equipped, 65-foot (20-meter) whale-watching catamaran at the Kailua Pier. Settle in to a shaded cabin with seating, tables, and three restrooms, or take advantage of the cushioned seating and unobstructed views of an upper sun deck. Throughout the cruise, enjoy provided snacks and beverages, such as Kona coffee, or treat yourself to something from the premium cash bar.
Venture out into the Pacific Ocean to look for pods of humpback whales that migrate to Hawaii’s warm waters to breed every year between December and April. Learn about the lifecycle and habits of these amazing animals from marine-life naturalist guides, and listen to the humpbacks’ distinctive whale song through a hydrophone connected to the boat’s PA system. Keep an eye out for other passing marine life, such as sperm whales, pilot whales, and dolphins. Whale sightings are guaranteed, or you can take the tour again for free.

Many Sick Travelers

Our tour was...ok. Yes, we saw humpback whales (just the dorsal fins of a Mom and baby) so in that sense our trip was a success. That said, we had a 30 minute trip out and then sat in very choppy waters for over 2...More

Aloha Jessica C, Always sorry to hear about sea-sick travelers. Takes some time for some to get their sea-legs, and on vacation, for the sea-sensitive, it can be a tall order if you don't know what steps to take. We recommend dramamine for sea-farers like...More

Whales and more!

Body Glove whale watching is a great way to spend an afternoon. In addition to seeing a mother and her baby frolicking in the ocean, we were treated to manta rays, a hammer head shark, and spinner dolphins. Besides the excellent marine life, another big...More
