About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Julie L0 contributionsRoad to Hanna - simply Beautiful! Our tour guide Jay (Justin) did an outstanding job driving us on the road to Hanna! He was very knowledgeable of the area as he grew up there. The road was very narrow and curvy. I would highly recommend NOT driving this yourself. The sights are beautiful and with Jay narrating we could relax and enjoy the scenery. We stopped several times with ample time to enjoy the area.Written 7 October 2024
- SUEWQ0 contributionsWorth it!Kristie was just the best tour guide. Not only was she incredibly kind and caring, but she was so well informed. She was engaging the entire trip and taught us so much about Hawaii, more than I had learned from anywhere else. Her perspective of the island made me fall in love with it. Road to Hana itself was, of course, stunning and I would recommend this trip to anyone.Written 6 October 2024
- samrosemary0 contributionsBook with Dynamic and have a dynamic experience!Christie Walker is an amazing guide who cares about the work she does and the information she provides. She’ll also leave you laughing with a smile. Had an awesome day with her on the road to Hana. We felt comfortable and safe in her care and would recommend this tour to anyone. If you’re contemplating booking the tour then let this be your sign to book! 🤙 mahaloWritten 4 October 2024
- cassidyh7400 contributionsAbsolutely amazingThe most amazing tour!! We got to see all the beautiful country and scenery. Got several hundreds of keepsake photos that I am excited to share with my family and friends. If it wasn’t for our tour guide, Thomas, I don’t know if we would have gotten to see everything. Highly recommend Thomas as your tour guide with Dynamic Tour Guides!!! He is great and very informative about the heritage and everything you need to know about Hawaii! Absolutely amazing!!!Written 1 October 2024
- 0702550 contributionsGreat trip to Hana!We had the best tour to Hana with our fabulous tour guide Christie. Christie was a wealth of information and kept us entertained during the long day. She covered so much territory and was so knowledgeable about every place we visited. I would highly recommend this tour company and would hope you could get Christie as your guide. She was fantastic.Written 29 September 2024
- Rangemgr0 contributionsGreat informative tourWe had a GREAT time with Christie as our guide. The road tour was excellent and a great way to see the area. She told us so much about what we were seeing and answered all of our questions. She was an excellent driver on the windy and narrow road. This has been the highlight of our trip to Maui and so glad we did it this way. If we had driven ourselves, the driver would have seen very little. The small group was fun to interact with. All of the stops were fun and it would be impossible to pick our favorite. Christie was also able to tell us about other places to go if we ever drove ourselves in. We would highly recommend this tour.Written 28 September 2024
- jhvacations0 contributionsA Lovely Day on the Road to HanaWe didn't realize that there would be as many "shopping stops" as there were. While interesting items to look at, we weren't doing the tour for the souvenirs. We were unable to make a stop due to a closed road, which was disappointing. Kalae, our guide, was very good, attentive to our needs, and fount of information. She also didn't talk incessantly, but encouraged us to ask questions, engage with the other participants, and take our time at all the stops. The highlights were WAIʻĀNAPANAPA STATE PARK - the trails, blow hole, black sand beach; the sea turtles at Baldwin Beach Park; and, getting picked up and dropped off from our resort on the west side of the island.Written 27 September 2024

- hollyannw5660 contributionsDid not stick to the itinerary providedAfter much research, I chose this tour based on the reviews and the stops that were outlined in the description. While our driver was extremely knowledgeable, she was not very professional and did not stop at Ke‘anae Point or Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread. When we asked about the banana bread she said it was the same recipe as another shop that we stopped at earlier. While this might be true, this is not what is shown in the tour description. We did stop at a number of other snack/food stands, but overall i was disappointed in the stops vs. what was advertised. If you have specific things you want to see on the Road to Hana, I recommend looking elsewhere or driving yourself.Written 23 September 2024
- AshleyB4060 contributionsTour of Road to Hana combined with an informal food tourAn amazing way to experience Maui in one day. Thomas was our tour guide and was simply delightful. He had incredible depth of knowledge about seemingly everything and provided us stops along the way to sample local foods. Honestly felt like a tour of Maui coupled with a food tour. Highly recommend!Written 20 September 2024
- Connector5915570 contributionsAmazing and so worth it!!!!!The tour was amazing. We saw so many beautiful rainfalls and the beautiful black sand beach. There were also a lot of other shops and friendly people we met when we stopped. Good food and ice cream also. Lepa was the most amazing and knowledgeable tour guide ever. She is very friendly, professional and a wealth of knowledge. She made the tour so much more excited. We had a really good group. This tour is worth it!!! I’m so glad we were able to take the tour this visit.Written 20 September 2024
- mariasM9016DV0 contributionsRoad to Hana Pure Scam TourIf you want to be lied to, scammed and sold a tour that does not deliver, then this is the tour for you. We booked this Road to Hana tour after reading its description and liking the stops that it made. We were especially looking forward to seeing Wailua Falls (proclaimed to be the Hottest stop of the tour by the tour vendor) and Charles Lindbergh’s resting place. This tour was notable for making the road to Hana loop, rather than only doing one side (which results in you seeing the same sites twice in the course of the day). The tour included specific stops and the website noted the allotted time for each. Additionally, the website indicated a series of stops that would be made upon request. We jotted down the ones we especially liked offered by the tour vendor and made a note to request these stops. Of the mandatory stops (of which there were 6), our tour guide only stopped in 2. One was supposed to be 40 minutes, but she only gave us 25 (The Pua’a Ka’a State Park). The other stop we made was Wai’anapanapa State Park (aka Black Sand Beach). Aside from those, we did not stop at any of the other mandatory stops, as listed below: Ke’anae Point- supposed to be 30 minutes) Kaupo, Kaupo- photo stop we never made Ohe’o Gulch- photo stop we never made On the website, it lists Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread as a mandatory stop, which was cool because Gordon Ramsay filmed an episode of his TV show there. However, instead we were taken to another banana bread stop, who we were told by the tour guide sold the same banana bread. However, an internet search proved that information to be false. Therefore we did not get to try the “best banana bread of your life” as the website calls it. Additionally, when we requested to stop at “the hottest spot on the tour”, as the website calls Wailua Falls, the tour guide responded that this area of the Road to Hana was inaccessible due to road closures caused by a mountain collapsing. We then proceeded to request the Charles Lindbergh grave, and she yet again stated this stop was inaccessible. Specially, the following stops were omitted because of this alleged road closure: Wailua Falls Charles Lindbergh Grave Honey bee sanctuary Laulima Falls When adding together the 4 mandatory stops the guide omitted, in total, we missed the following stops: Ke’anae Point Kaupo, Kaupo Ohe’o Gulch Wailua Falls Charles Lindbergh Grave Honey bee sanctuary Lailuma Falls Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread We only visited 3 of the 11 stops advertised on the website during the entire 10 hour tour. Because something felt off about the whole experience, we decided to inquire about this road closure. We spoke to the concierge at the hotel, the front desk representative, Uber drivers, locals, and other tour guides, who all confirmed there were NO road closures and that all of these sites were accessible. In addition, we looked it up online and various websites confirmed that all of these sites were open and accessible from all sides of the highway. The required stops and those that we requested were all replaced with food shops (that most of us did not even want). We stopped at: -Coconut stand -Soda shop -Chocolate store We almost stopped at a vegan ice cream food truck, but everyone was fed up at this point and did not want to stop for another food purchase. Keep in mind no food items other than the deli sandwiches were included as part of the tour, so these stops were solely to spend additional money. In total, this tour cost our party 440 plus tip (which the guide explicitly stated through text she expected 20-30 percent tip on the total tour price), plus everything that was spent on the various food stops that comprised over half of the tour. It’s frankly upsetting and disappointing that after choosing this tour based on false advertising, we were scammed and deceived by being given a product that we did not want nor select. Many people come to Hawaii from far away and spend hard earned money to visit, and are then treated like fools. Save yourself the money, time and hassle, and select a different tour company that will deliver the actual product advertised.Written 18 September 2024
- B3662RCjocelynl0 contributionsRoad to Hana TourThomas was an amazing tour guy! He’s funny, friendly and makes the ride fun. He made sure to give us plenty of time at each stop we made. Was very informative, will not be disappointed!Written 16 September 2024
- Sarah M0 contributionsExperience the Road to Hana with TomThis trip was a great experience for our second day on the island. Tom was our tour guide for the day and he was truly wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and spent so much time showing us around the island. We made plenty of stops to see sea turtles, purchase banana bread, drink from fresh coconuts, admire multiple water falls, have lunch at black sand beach, stop at gift shops and grab some ice cream for the ride home. I would highly recommend this trip if you are on the fence. You can drive the road to Hana in your own vehicle, but having a tour guide show you the ways around the island is an even better experience! Thank you Tom for making our trip so much fun and entertaining!Written 16 September 2024

Tor was our guide at Kona. He was very punctual and courteous. He did a great job narrating to us every detail of how the geology of the island and the nature of the volcanoes intertwine with the history of Hawaii. He made sure we got to experience all activities that were listed on the tour, and recommended to us one or two to skip, so that we could spend more quality time in others, and get to cross them all of the list. Please note it’s up to you if you want to tackle all the activities in the tour, as it is a very ambitious list. Loved it and highly recommend it, as it was a kind of private tour for the 4 of us.

With a little one a 10hr tour is a bit much. Do you have a 1/2 day?

Hi! Is this just a tour of the national park or do we also stop at the falls? The overview states, "Your guide shares highlights including Rainbow Falls, Saddle Road, and Punaluu Black Sand Beach.", but I don't know if that means we stop at each of these places. Thanks!
