- Mark T0 contributionsBlue Mountains Day Trip from SydneyIt was a very well run trip. We saw all the sights promised. We had just enough time at each. The featherbed zoo allowed us to interact with kangaroos and koalas. We enjoyed the blue mountains. The bus driver/guide Jed was both very informative and funny. The hotel pickup was on time and we were left at the ferry station at the perfect time to get right on the ferry to circular quay.Written 2 February 2024
- Amanda74Perth0 contributionsThis was a great day out with plenty of historical info share by our guide Max. Highly recommended! We had a great experience with FJ tours. Max was our guide - he was fun, knowledgeable and inclusive for all on the coach. HIGHLY RECOMMENDWritten 10 January 2024
- Melissa M0 contributionsFun experienceOur tour guide Jed was wonderful! He was friendly and very knowledgeable. We really loved visiting Featherdale and interacting with the kangaroos and wallabies. The blue mountains were beautiful and Scenic world was a fun to experience that area. This was my favorite excursion we did in Sydney and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.Written 7 January 2024
- Edith F0 contributionsNice little day tripThe company FJ Tours is very well organised, helpful and friendly, giving great commentary during the bus rides. The stops themselves are good lengths of time, but mainly just cover the wildlife park and scenic world rides. There is no time for doing longer walks around the blue Mountains National park, but you can do a short walk during time at Scenic world which gives lovely views. Good day overall, would recommend.Written 29 December 2023
- G6936ZCverah0 contributionsGreat tour, great guide, great groupOur Tour Guide Jet was the best! He explained very clearly and told us lots of interesting facts about the Blue Mountains on our trip there and back. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy each stop, even though it was super busy, due to holidays. The tour itself is a good starting point if you've never been to the Blue Mountains, as it gives you a glimpse into the area. However, it is very touristy and tightly scheduled, so next time I think we will just take a train to Katiomba and stay a couple of days for some self guided hiking. Nonetheless, a great tour, if you are limited on time.Written 27 December 2023

- Helen T0 contributionsA Fantastic Blue Mountain Day!We visited the Blue Mountains with Tony as our guide on a beautiful Monday, December 11th 2023. Tony was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information on the Blue Mts. as well as Sydney. We enjoyed the animal park visit in the morning before lunch. There were so many animals in addition to the koalas, birds and wallabys! The Scenic Park in the Blue Mts. was a bit crowded, which made the lines long for the vertical train. That made the experience feel a bit rushed as a result. Tony did take us to some great view lookouts, outside of scenic world that were fabulous! The ferry ride back to Circular Quay was lovely with views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Bridge. Tony even gave us $10 to reimburse us for the ferry ride, because it had to be charged to a credit card. We gave our $10 back to Tony as a tip for a job well done. It was a lovely day well spent!Written 12 December 2023
- AJT07050 contributionsGood trip and would recommend but be aware of the arrangements for the journey home.Good trip with the right amount of time at the wildlife park and Leura on the way to the Blue Mountains. Coach wasn’t the best but Barry the driver was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Slightly misleading r.e. the ‘ferry cruise’ back to Sydney (although I do agree it makes sense rather than sitting in traffic). Essentially they drop you at one of the stops on the Parramatta-Circular Quay ferry line to catch that and reimburse you with cash (as you have to use cards to pay). Not a problem for us but I do think this should be a bit clearer.Written 23 November 2023
- Mary D0 contributionsGreat tour with fun variety of sightsWe live in Sydney but don’t have a car and wanted to go to the Blue Mtns for a day, so this was the perfect tour! We loved the inclusion of Featherdale Wildlife Park. It was a great start to the day and a nice way to break up the drive. Aaron was a great tour guide and very informative and personable. He pointed out many sights on the drive and kept us entertained all day. The only reason why 4 instead of 5 stars is that the time at Scenic World was a bit too long. We would’ve loved to spend a bit more time in Leura for lunch. Overall great tour and good value, I’d recommend it to others!Written 18 November 2023

If you are thinking of what trip to do in the blue mountains, a trip with this company is it! Scenic world is a must do. You will enjoy the rides. They are very well orgnised. There are board walks through the rainforest- if you are a reasonable walker, disregard the times- you will do it faster. We also stopped at the 3 sisters where we did a 5-10 min walk to the lookout near the first sister. We stopped at the Boar look out. We also stopped at the wildlife park, but due to the inclement weather the animals were a bit shy. The rain did stop so we had a quick look around. I saw people with wildlife branded umbrellas and ponchos so if you get caught short without a rain jacket I am sure you can purchase some. The weather in the blue mountains can be fickle so even if it's sunny in Sydney, pop the jacket in your bag. We had Aaron as our guide ( thanks for the Tim Tam's and koalas). He was very informative about the history, but also let us know about places to eat and what was available before we went to a place. It was a cloudy rainy start to the day, but he thought it would lift, so he suggested lunch first, after the wildlife park, and then scenic world. This was a great idea and worked out well for us as the cloud did lift. I found Aaron was genuinely concerned about us all having a good time and giving us the best shot to see what we came for. I never felt that he was watching the clock and hurrying us. He managed the time well by asking us do we want a bit more time here or there - he went above and beyond. He was really great, just a brilliant experience!! At the end we caught the ferry back to circular Quay. It was a really lovely ferry ride. The ferry comes every 20mins- so don't panic if you miss it. You can use your opal card or credit card, or buy a ticket as the company provides you with $10 to purchase a ticket.

We choose this Blue Mountains day trip because it had a similar itinerary to others but a more affordable price, and it did not disappoint. We loved everything about it and only wish we could have stayed longer at the sanctuary and Scenic World. If you love nature, animals, and sightseeing and have a free day in Sydney, I highly recommend doing this tour.

Meeting our pick-up time at 7am was hard but being the first pick up spot gives you first choice of seats, so we got the front row. I’m glad we did, because my husband and Aaron chatted all day. Aaron was our driver and guide. He kept the group on time and organized. Our first stop was Featherdale Animal Sanctuary. We really enjoyed this stop and the animals that were roaming free. I got to pet and be photographed with a cute little Koala. We interacted with many wallabys, a wombat, and so many birds. Aaron was very helpful with lunch suggestions. We visited the city of Elura for lunch. We chose the Elura Cafe. Aaron said they had the best fish and chips, and we’d have to agree. Next we drove to Echo Point, a scenic lookout over the mountains. We were lucky that the clouds had just lifted and we were able to get some great photos. Last was Scenic World, a short drive away. We really enjoyed all the rides here. The cableway across was beautiful. Next we boarded the steepest railway in the world, for a trip down the mountain into the rainforest. A nice walk through the rainforest and by the old coal mine brought us to the cableway that takes us up to street level. Once outside, we took some fun movies of the animated dinosaur models in front of the museum. Our last stop was Olympic Park, where the Sydney Olympics were held in 2000. Now its a residential and event area. We were guided to the wharf where we caught a ferry back to the CBD. It was very convenient that this tour was all inclusive. The entrance fees at Featherdale, all the rides at Scenic World, even our ferry back to the central city was included. We only paid extra for lunch and my cute photo holding a koala.

To be honest, we were a little disappointed in the FJ Tours trip to Blue Mountains. It took quite a while to collect all the clients in Sydney and then we visited Featherdale Wildlife Park, which we didn't enjoy much. Featherdale is mostly a zoo with old small cages and lots of encouragement to visitors to feed and pet the animals, which is generally not a healthy practice for the animals. We then stopped in Leura for lunch (a nice enough little town) and it was not until after lunch that we actually arrived in the Blue Mountains National Park. The tour included rides at Scenic World, but our guide (Ned) failed to give us our wrist-band tickets so we had to stand around for more than 15 minutes while his FJ colleague (who happened to be leading a tour about the same time) helped contact him and get him to bring out tickets. This meant that we lost time that we could have been enjoying the cable car and train rides or hiking in the park. Overall, it seemed the tour included too many things we were not really interested in, was poorly led by the FJ guide, and was quite expensive for what was provided.

The itinerary should suggest that this is a tour for young people/families. Not ideal for the sophisticated/seasoned traveler. Long lines, rehab refuge for animals was similar to a child's petting zoo, blue mountain felt like a hers of cattle waiting for the tram, etc. The day was slow and unexciting.

First the good - the upfront communication with the company was good. Very fast getting back to us. Our tour guide, Hucksley was great. Very knowledgeable and we enjoyed all the stops. I felt there was enough time in order to fit it all in, but I would have liked a little more time in Featherdale Wildlife Park. This was the highlight of our visit.
The bad and ugly - the set up was not great. We were outside the Holiday Inn when the large tour company bus pulled up. Imagine our anxiety when the driver told us we were not on his list. Fortunately he took the time to call the office to find a 2nd bus would be coming. Not sure why they would send both buses to the same hotel. Our minibus pulled up at 7:45. We knew it would be a challenge from the start. We had to sit in the back and that mini bus is extremely squeaky, rocky, bouncy and bad rear suspension, so we really felt every bump. So much so that both our necks were paining by the time we were dropped off.
Speaking of drop off, we were late getting to the ferry so had to wait 30 minutes. The driver said it was due to traffic but I expect the couple who caused us 30 minute delay at Scenic World had something to do with it. The driver suggested for us to get off at Darling Harbour but there is no such stop. It goes by a different name, Barangaroo Wharf. We got off our stop and had no idea where to go to get back to our hotel.
We have done many, many tours and we have never felt “stranded” at the end. It would help if the tour operator provided more drop off information in the tour description so people can make plans to get back to their hotel. Or even something printed to hand to passengers. Not everyone has access to data on their phones.
If you do this tour, and I would recommend it, make sure you are not on the minibus and do know that you will take the ferry back to Sydney and get off at either Barangaroo Wharf or Circular Quay. Have directions from these stops to your hotel.

Really bad experience. The tour guide was talking stories all the time really enoying almost every passenger. Next problem was the weather (heavy rain) at the blue mountains not allowing us to do anything but sit in the cafe. In general, a tour guide can not be responsible for the weather but they could manage the tour concerning the forecast. They could have gone to the blue mountains stop first in the morning when the weather was fine. Also the guide did not stop at the viewpoint which would have been the only opportunity to see the mountains even though he knew it was about to rain. Then third, he said he would not wait for passengers longer than 10 minutes. We waited 25 minutes for late passengers resulting in missing the ferry so that everyone in the bus was supposed to wait 1 hour for the next ferry. As we had a 1,5 year old child with us, we took an uber for 60 dollars back to the city. We tried to get our money back but no chance. The wildlife park is really nice - best you do the tour on your own by train taking into account the weather.

We had a lovely bus driver who provided a lot of interesting information during the trip. For those considering this trip, ~50% of the time spent is on the bus (5 hours) which is broken up by 3 major stops and 3 pit stops. The zoo was decent, well-managed with some animals roaming freely, lots to see. The stop for lunch/shopping was nice. Would have liked a bit more time at the Blue Mountains as we only had enough time to do each of the three “rides” once, with a 10-minute walk built in (would recommend doing the steep train ride twice, definitely the most exciting ride, but you give up the view). We liked everything until the end, when the driver left us at the ferry dock with a $10 bill for us to take a ferry back to one of two locations. First, you can’t buy a ferry ticket with cash, only a credit card. So nice that they reimbursed us the cost, but we felt like we were dumped there at the end. The guide could have handed out some pre-paid ferry tickets instead. Second, we ended up waiting 20+ min for the ferry we needed, then had a 35 min ride, and then had to pay for an Uber to take us back to our apartment. So make sure to tack on another hour to the tour time if you plan an evening activity. We had been looking forward to the ferry ride, thinking it was part of the guides tour, but it happened to be raining, dark and gloomy and no guide, so not the ending we were hoping for.
We also had a few people on the bus who didn’t respect the time allotment for the various stops. I think the driver could have been a bit more direct about not being late. He should have used his white board to show the time the bus was leaving for each stop, not just the major ones. Can’t fault the tour for that, but don’t be that person that makes everyone else wait. And if you are late, at least walk briskly back to the bus and give an apology wave to your fellow travelers.

We had a wonderful time with Tony our guide. He worked to keep us on time which is always a challenge with a group. He was clear with his instructions and his information on the sights and Australia in general were informative and appreciated.
Our favorite was likely the wildlife park with Australian animals where we fed the wallabys and kangaroos and for an extra $30 we could pet a koala and got prints of the experience.
The tour included a lunch stop in a nice village for which we were on our own. Then stopped at a lookout with the 3 Sisters rock formation. Entry into Senic World was included where we received wrist bands so we could skip the lines at the entry gate. We were able to ride the blue gondola down into the valley and quickly walked the longer trail to take the red incline railway back up. We were given 2 hours here so we were able to squeeze a back and forth across the valley in the yellow cable car.
It took 1/2 hr wait to get onto the blue gondola, the other two were a little faster. There were no markers in the queue lines telling us how long the waits were which led to some consternation whether we had time for the walks and all of the rides.
Lastly, we were taken to the Olympic Park ferry terminal where we caught the city ferry which took us to Circular Quay for the end of the trip. That ws fun especially ro see the Opera house from the water. Because FJTours cannot purchase the ferry tickets we each purchased our own and were each given $10 from Tony in compersation.

Wow this was a very long trip and one we would not wish to repeat. 50 seater coach full to capacity with the driver acting as tour guide too, this did not work, too much responsibility for one person. The first stop at the wildlife park was good and would of preferred more time here. The commentary about the motorway system and drink driving laws etc did not add to the trip. Next and only break of the entire 11 hour day was at Leura for 50 mins for lunch, coffee etc was not long enough as this is a lovely suberb to explore fully. The visit to Scenic World was extremely tiring and frustrating as at least 90 mins was spent queuing for a very quick ride. Maybe we picked the wrong tour as the theme park did not add anything. The driver was extremely professional and friendly. Think carefully about booking this trip to make sure you understand what you get for your money. We left at 8am and arrived back at 7pm.

Hello, we would like to book this trip but we have a timing problem. Our flight lands at 6 15 am; we think that we could leave our luggage at 7 30 at our hotel( it is about Coogee Sands hotels and apartments) and we are going to grab a taxi to Mercure Wynyard( the last pick-up point). In the case of unexpected delay it is possible to take our luggage with us in this trip or could we postpone the trip? Thank you, Corina

Will you pick up and drop off at this hotel - Morgans Boutique Hotel, Victoria St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010, Australia?

I think the description lists the pick up locations. Our hotel wasn't a pick up spot, so I went through the list to find the one closest to our hotel.
Drop off is at a ferry station, and you take a ferry back to Darling Harbor. Taking the ferry means you avoid Sydney traffic and get a nice tour of the harbor in the evening!

We will be staying near the Museum Station/Hyde Park. Where is the nearest pick-up point for us and what is the time of pick-up. Thanks

One of our party of 4 cannot undertake major climbs or long walks. Please let us know if this tour involves such activities. Thanks

Scenic World does require some walking, but it is optional how far he/she wants to go.
Blue Mountains is a viewpoint. Hiking and climbing is optional.
