      Fantastic!! I would highly recommend!
An amazing experience! It was very eye opening to learn about the Aboriginal culture and their connection to the earth. I believe it is a great way to have a better understanding of the true essence of Aboriginal people and ways that others can learn to respect and acknowledge the rightful owners of this land.

Walking Tour  The Rocks Aboriginal Dreaming Tour
Thanks for having me on the walking tour yesterday morning. I appreciate your energy and knowledge and was fascinated by all the Aboriginal stories of your country and families. It is some kind of “positively destabilizing » to be honest but overall this is truly enjoyable experience.

      A must do!
Im so pleased we booked this for our 1st day. What a wonderful introduction to Sydney. Every local and visitor should do this to gain more understanding. We learned so much, James was awesome with my little girl, we were very lucky to have a small group so a great opportunity for lots of questions. A respectful, professional, well organised and humbling experience. Thank you!

      Tour Review
My agency booked a cultural awareness tour and we attended on Monday 27 May 2019. Margaret Campbell undertook the tour and it was the best Aboriginal cultural awareness training I have ever gone to. It was real because it is outside, visiting various sites of Aboriginal significance and connecting the culture to mother nature was so interesting. Highly recommend this tour.

      Cultural Immersion Tour
Our organisation had the privilege of Margret's wisdom on the cultural immersion tour of Sydney. I would highly recommend everyone, not just businesses/organisations, take the tour to fully understand the First Nations' cultural context in which they live and work. It was an outstanding half day.

History we didn't learn in school
Thanks to James for a great tour sharing his culture and the indigenous history of the Rocks area. We learned a lot about the natural history of the area and how to get nectar from flowering grevilleas. James handled lots of questions from my curious tweens very well. Highly recommended.

Insightful indigenous tour of the Rocks
Thank you to Lindsay Williams who took us on a tour of the Rocks earlier this month. He shared some very cool insights about indigenous culture and what life was once like in the Rocks area. From the shell fish middens, to totems, to how country is viewed. We got some great insight into how the traditional custodians of the land we walked on - the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation - lived and fished. The story about working with dolphins every year to fish the harbour was very cool. Highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to learn more about the land on which we walk and it’s history.

      Different
We had already been to displays and presentations by aborigines. Margret Campbell told a more personal story of how her ggg grandmother married a Campbell from Scotland. She told us about the customs of the aborigines and how husbands and wives are chosen and influences, according to when and where a person is born. It is very hard to equate all the myths and legends in this modern world, but Margret answered a lot of our questions.

Emily shared her knowledge with us which was amazing! It was a nice usually walk learning about the aboriginal culture. Very different from the usual other tours of Sydney.

Emily pointed out the Spirit Gallery art store Because I was interested in purchasing an authentic piece. She did not steer me wrong! Take a look at that store right in the Rocks after the tour!

This was one of the best tours we did in Sydney! The owner and tour guide, “Aunty”Magret, was exceptional. We were looking for an authentic, insightful glimpse into aboriginal culture/politics and this tour was definitely foundational. It was a “glimpse” because only so much could be covered in the allotted time. The combination of her lived experiences as an Aboriginal woman, passion for her culture and background as a professor added so much depth and breadth to the tour. We left wanting to know, understand and experience more of the culture, belief systems and rituals - a reason to come back to Sydney from the States! Thank you Dreamtime! Truly the best.

What a wonderful and informative walk. Our tour guide Amanda was great and gave us information to give better understanding of Aboriginal culture. She gave us personal insights and was willing to answer questions.
The tour makes you look at everything differently. Highly recommend this tour. As an Australian, it gives you a different perspective of Sydney, one which is great to hear.

I booked a private tour for our senior leadership team with Dreamtime Southern X tours. I received an email with a confirmation of booking and charge to our credit card for $900 with pending order status to the email which showed to me that it was not 100% confirmed.

I tried to call for three days to the number that was on the pending status email as I wanted to confirm if this tour was going ahead. Each time I called I spoke with someone that is clearly not from the company and did not know, and each time said that there was no one in the department but would take a message for someone to call me back, which no one did!!

Each day that passed, I called, and I iterated I needed to know if the tour was going ahead. If not, I would have to organise another activity for our group. I was then told to email the owner, Margaret which I did, still no call backs or response.

Today, the day of the supposed tour, I received a text message saying they are totally booked out, they have staff away and she (Margaret) is booked elsewhere. This message was from Margaret the owner.

As you can imagine it's totally unacceptable to notify someone on the day of a supposed booking that it's not happening when you have been chasing for days. Totally unorganised and unprofessional! I would be cautious to book with this company.

I'm now trying to chase the refund of our money and have texted Margaret who has not responded. I have also called the number on the status pending booking and the same person said there was no one in the department!

All it takes is a bit of communication. If someone had contacted me days ago to let me know that they couldn't proceed with the booking, I would have been ok and I would have had a bit of time to organise something else, however to be notified on the day of via text message is unacceptable.

I thinks this business gets their bad reviews removed so I wasn't sure if it was even worth my time to write one...but hoping this one stays and helps others level-set expectations.

What I expected: to learn about the history and culture of Aboriginals pre and post colonization in the context of Australia today.

What I got: a 90-min lecture in the form of baseless claims, a tour guide who gets offended if you ask questions that she does not know the answer to, and a serious victim mentality that underscores every "fact" being shared.

Our leadership team joined a Dreamtime Southern x tour of the Rocks at short notice and I am so glad we did. Our wonderful guide led us through dreamtime and Aboriginal culture in a way I have never experienced before. it was delivered in a way that was engaging and informative. With references to the landscape, flora and fauna. It was just wonderful. I just wish this was taught in schools - we should all learn about Aboriginal culture like this. I'll be back with my family for another tour! Note: this is an easy walk - not strenuous - so suitable for all ages and abilities.

Our guide was a really pleasant young lady who was still in the process of learning about her heritage. This meant that she inevitably still lacks the experience and gravitas to convey fully the rich history of her people although she is to be much admired for seeing it as her mission to be the next generation of this task. I did learn about aboriginal culture and history within the Rocks area of Sydney but perhaps did not feel as immersed as i would have liked.

Our guide Donnia was generous and respectful in sharing her knowledge with our small group. Showing understandings of our capabilities, she was happy to modify the route if requested. This tour highlighted a different and very important perspective and understanding of the history and geography of the Sydney area in a tour that both visitors and locals would find beneficial and interesting.

Completed this tour 10th November 2022. Had just been to Uluru were we had done the base walk sunrise tour which was informative but not a patch on Amanda's knowledge, enthusiasm, passion and desire to educate us of her ancestors ways and how they are so meaningful today. Amanda clarified so many things in a way that the lay person could understand and acknowledge. Really felt a connection with what we were being told. Would really recommend this tour to locals and tourists alike. Still feel blessed to have done it and to have met Amanda. Thank you Sheena and Mo

Our guide shared her knowledge, thoughts and experiences of her Aboriginal culture and upbringing. We learned of Aboriginal beliefs, mysticism, community and family life. During our walk we learned how Aboriginal people believe how nature and people interact with each other.
A must tour for those wanting to get a more complete picture of Australian history and culture.
